@Erik: I am all for a strong and healthy discussion. I don't like you painting me as misinformed or biased by my love for the character. For all my supposed lack of evidence you haven't supplied any at all either. The fact of the matter is that it is probably too early to tell with Wonder Woman about a lot of things and that we will have to come back to this ranking at a later point. On that note I have made my input, and this thread will get no more from me on this matter.

In my official capacity I might also remind you that this is not in the battle forum, try to be a bit more civil in dealing with people please.

  • If you do not like me painting you that way, then do not behave that way.
  • I did supply some. Go back and read my posts again because it seems like you missed it.
  • Pfft! I have not even come close to skating the lines of what is appropriate on this site. Just because you lost the debate, does not mean you get to strong-arm me with your new super powers. The type of forum is irrelevant. This is a debate thread even if it is not a battle thread. Calling people out for being wrong has only been considered "inappropriate" to those that are getting called out.

It's a tricky subject, but yes, I'm taking standard attire into account when ranking durability. This is an oddly unique case, since it's such a limited area that she uses for blocking. Batman's cowl was a much easier element to tackle.

Hmm, it helps make Diana's durability debacle less questionable but I still believe she shouldn't be ranked so high in durability.

Well what about my suggestion for the subcategories? Because as far as blunt force durability goes, her ranking is completely reasonable. Post Crisis Diana was ranked at Superman durability levels by Blue Beetle even though she had the same shortcomings as now.

My 2 cents since I am enjoying this venture so far, awesome stuff to those contributing. As far as Wonder Woman's bracelets and how it affects her durability ranking, if this system is meant to be comparable to Marvels OHOTMU power grids, then its a matter of whether you consider Diana's bracelets like being akin to Captain America's shield. In which no durability is added to her ranking, or more like Trey Rollins magical breastplate which does add to his durability rankings. Granted a breastplate covers more area but still. This might add on to standard attire reasoning as well, as far as the extent of including items that might not necessary cover entire characters body as a suit might but still contributing to their durability ranking. This might be my rampant fanboyism at work though naturally.

Subcategories are good but then it just seems you can easily downplay the character by picking at their lowest end feats.

I'll be reviewing the posts, updating the OP with Nightwing & Wonder Woman's stats, and then adding the new 2 characters over the course of the next few hours.

As for a hint: one patrols space and the other patrols Gotham.

I do not see it that way. On one hand, we would have WW's piercing/slashing durability at a 2 or 3 and we could have her blunt force durability remain at the 6.

Fair point, but would it be subjected only to Diana or characters who also use certain items as a defensive crutch?

Well that is assuming a rating without her bracelets being a factor. If we do factor in the bracelet's durability, she is 6 across the board and subcategories are pointless. And as long as we are considering Batman's armor part of his durability, we should do the same with Diana's bracelets.

I realize there will be flaws in the ranks, but let's just do our best to fill them out as accurately as possible. Adding subcategories will likely confuse many and make matters too complex.

@k4tzm4n: Aquaman's telepathy ought to be taken into consideration (if this is to be reflective of the Marvel grid). Marvel counts telepathy, magic, empathy etc. in this category. A character like Mantis is a 3. Aquaman should be at least here.

Also care to provide any evidence as to what Wonder Woman has done in new-52 to justify her INCALCULABLE strength rating?

@Yai_Inn: Wonder Woman being a 7 was a typo. I meant to have her as a 6 since she currently has no feats that are 100 tons or above. That, however, will likely be updated in the future to a 7. It's just a matter of someone declaring an objection and providing the feats when they eventually take place.

I was previously posing questions about telepathy and its role in the energy projection. Thank you for letting me know that.

@Deranged Midget : The only disagreement I have with your rankings is Energy Projection. With either the Yellow or the Green Ring, multiple forms of energy can be produced, such as radiation, green/yellow energy projection, x-rays, temperatures in varying degrees, etc. So I give it a 6.

@k4tzm4n: It's completely unchanged yes but Sinestro hasn't had access to a Yellow power ring for a decent period of time now. If you want to take into account his Pre-52 feats with a Yellow power ring then he'd have level 6 Energy Projection.

I'm against Batman having superhuman strength, if anything is SUPERHUMAN it his his mind(intelligence). It goes against Batman's core concept of being a MAN, not super.

Besides Peak Human doesn't mean the same for everyone its about age/size/weight. As the strength levels higher to it is has ranges.

REALLY hope the strength is brought down and the intelligence put up he's shown that he's a super-genius not just able to ace the SAT's....

Batman

  • Intelligence 6
  • Strength 3
  • Speed 2
  • Durability 3(if amor is considered an enhancement of durability)
  • Energy Projection 1
  • Fighting Ability 7

Aquaman

  • Intelligence 2
  • Strength 4
  • Speed 3
  • Durability 5
  • Energy Projection 5(command over all sea life)
  • Fighting Ability 4

Wonder Women

  • Intelligence 4
  • Strength 6
  • Speed 3
  • Durability 6(although projectiles can hurt her)
  • Energy Projection 1
  • Fighting Ability 6

Nightwing

  • Intelligence 4
  • Strength 3
  • Speed 2
  • Durability 3(if amor is considered an enhancement of durability)
  • Energy Projection 1
  • Fighting Ability 6

Sinestro

  • Intelligence 4
  • Strength 2(is race has no superhuman abilities)
  • Speed 3(rings ability to fly at faster speeds then most aircrafts)
  • Durability 6(his rings ability to form protective shielding)
  • Energy Projection 6
  • Fighting Ability 3(was/is in a galactic army)

Damian Wayne

  • Intelligence 4
  • Strength 3(for his age is in peak condition)
  • Speed 2
  • Durability 3(if armor is considered an enhancement of durability)
  • Energy Projection 1
  • Fighting Ability 7

I can vouch for that too. I started reading GL before the reboot and the Krona storyline would had to have happened in order for the first issue of the New 52 Green Lantern to have happened and make sense. So is Sinestro a 5 or 6 for energy projection?

I'm still holding my ground that Sinestro remains at a level 5 for Energy Projection solely based on the fact that he hasn't been in possession of a Yellow Ring for a substantial amount of time.

I distinctly remember some major GL fans having a fit over a critical event not being able to exist due to some revelation or another in the New 52 series. I wish I could provide more info than that but GL stories never interested me. Let me put a pin in this grenade for now and I will check with Morph. I am certain he would know one way or another.

@Erik: No, nothing has changed. Perhaps in the other GL titles, but none the main series. It picks up right where Pre-52 left off, with Sinestro receiving the Green Lantern ring.

Like I said, I need some time to get the info from the experts. This is news I am trying to remember from more than a year ago and I never even read the books myself.
