It's Pretty Good and this is from someone who does not really like Batman or his Counterparts.

There is too big a gap in quality between Doom Patrol and Titans for Titans to surpass it. Its also not going to be better than swamp thing. Frankly st this point I'd say it's in equal 6th position. Behind Stargirl, Superman and Lois and Pennyworth. Equal with Lucifer (though there are times I'd say it's behind Lucifer). Krypton and the 2010 Human Target also aren't far behind it.

All this is if we only take recent DC series. If we include Smallville it and Lucifer move down one more as Smallville comes in 3rd behind Swamp Thing.

Just to be clear, what makes a truly great show is a mix of character development, tangible and consistent plot lines, the right mix of humour, action and drama all done well.

Doom Patrol has that. It has all its core characters strongly developed with a lot of depth. It has great humour and drama and while the action is light the drama and character development is strong enough to carry the shortfall.

Swamp Thing had most of this too, less humour (replaced by horror) and a few characters not as developed

Superman and Lois also has all this wit less humour.

Pennyworth does as well but replaces humour with it hard core action

Stargirl develops more characters but the drama isn't as good as it is in the other four, nor is the humour. This is because of the teen angst (which completely overrides all other CW shows)

Titans has the action but it only really develops Dick all the other characters are one or at most 2 dimensional. They lack plausible motivations or endearing qualities. The pacing is also bad. You ca have a show that is paced slowly as long as the drama is immersive enough, and with Titans it just isnt

I've only watched episode 1 of season 3 and it's still barely above CW shows like arrow.

Superman and Lois is good but it's not number 1. It's behind Swamp Thing by quite a pit. That's to be expected though since they spent more on the Swamp Thing cut short season than most of their theatrical DCEU releases. I think Doom Patrol is 1, but I can understand not all thinking it. It has some quite quirky aspects to the show that many wouldn't like the way I do

We'll see about longevity. It's starting off promising but to me, the worst part about the show is it just can't stick season finales.

No, people above have mentioned some better shows and if you add Watchmen and Preacher into the mix Titans drops farther down the line.

ALL Titans has is the snippets of action bow and then and even that doesn't do better than Swamp thing's action.

Swamp Thing was easily 40% better than the best Titans has done so far(at the very least). Doom Patrol is 140% better. Superman and Lois ans Stargirl are maybe 15 -20% better.

In any case since you've only questioned Swamp Thing than Concession accepted. Since you asked if Titans is no 1 and apparently accept that DP Stargirl and Superman and Lois are better

so far still Doom Patrol, but let the season end so we can decide

After catching up, I don't see the hype. Being better than the last 2 seasons isn't much of an accomplishment and I still think it's the weakest of the DC Universe shows if we're talking first 3 episodes of each.

Probably the worst depiction of Red Hood and Batman so far but maybe my mind will change throughout the season . It's overall character work is better though with the core titans

1. I answered your question (from OP)from my stand point.

2. I even stated in post 13 long before you replied asking why I would rate others above that I could understand some not agreeing with my opinion and the reasons for that.

3. I answered again why I consider swamp thing and DP are better. Simply better character development, plotting, and drama.

Then you try and push a notion not supported in your own thread.

If you don't want the opinions of others that differ from yours, dont ask for them.

FYI you can take Cyborg from DP, he's literally the least developed character with the least amount of interest. So he would slightly lift Titans since he's above all the character developing the show bar Dick and maybe Jason.

Yeah Doom Patrol is overrated. I prefer TItans in general, it's darker and I feel like that matches DC's overall tone much better.

Dropped in Season 1 because it was an edgy clusterfuck, Robin being the only good thing about it honestly.

Watched ep 3 and 4 last night.

OMG the writing on this show just gets worse and worse after a half decent start in the first2 eps. How can they write so much anti character stuff and expect it to fly. They write a character development arc and then just completely flip on it.

1. Hawk wants to go hard on Jason but let's him blind side him in an obvious set up.

2. Dove talks to Hawk about doing it as a team but then goes solo contrary to her own development.

3. So Jason Became Red Hood because Bruce never did anything to show he cared, but didn't Killing Joker against his own code show that??? Undermining the whole damn plot point.

4. Dick won't break the law to save Hank, but Breaks the law to lure Jason???

5. Kory finds the imprisonment of Blackfire justified hut breaks her out? I mean it's not like she can't just check back after a few years if the site is forgotten about.

There is so much more contradictory stuff it's beyond ridiculous. The writers need to choose a direction and not keep taking both forks it just makes for a crap story.

Yeah, this show is coming off as being the same dumpsterfire it was already which is a shame because I like many of the cast especially the actors for BB and Raven.

Ironically it's need to be dark and serious doesn't do much if the overall quality just ain't that good.

Couldn't even get passed season 2, when I saw that joke of a Trigon XD..

This show is boring, especially this season.

It's pretty good so far (and easily the best season), but no, Doom Patrol season 1 is way too high of a bar.

I can't watch this anymore.

It just keeps finding new depths to drop to every week.

This writing team needs the sack
