Never in my life did I ever think that Chris Pratt would be voicing Mario but here we are.

Anyway, I just hope this film is as good as the Lego Batman movie or something. And not a shameless 90 minutes Nintendo ad like Ralph breaks the internet

Why? In all honesty, I don't get the appeal of having celebrity VAs. Like why don't they get people who are working to make something for themselves, instead of wasting money for big names that don't really need to be a VA.

But regardless, I did hear that this SM won't be like the 90s one, if so it's already off to a better start than that one.

@killianduclark: If Christopher Judge can voice Kratos, I think Chris Pratt as Mario is fine too.

By the way: that is what actors do, they pretend they are something they are not. If you only start casting people as they are, with no acting required then we'd only have reality tv and nothing else.

hear me out i don’t like chris pratt voicing mario, but…

jack black as bowser is flawless casting as long as the script is solid, i also love anya taylor joy as peach (if they ever wanted another live action mario she’d be perfect there as well, as long as they have a good writer and a solid budget).

The cast for this is STACKED.

I thought it was a joke when they announced Chris Pratt as the voice of Mario. I won't judge till the movie comes out but seems like the creators of the movie analyzed Chris' voice to be good enough to be Mario.

Also I'm expecting that if this movie does well. I'm expecting a Star Fox movie somewhere down the line, that short they did for Zero was fantastic and they aren't doing anything with the IP game wise. It'd be nice to breath fresh air into SF again.

I saw an article for this and thought Chris Pratt would be play Mario in a Live Action Super Mario film which sort of worried me. If it's CGI / Animation type film I am more intrigued by this idea.

What intrigues me is that they brought Charles Martinet for this one, but only for cameos. Why they would bring the actual Mario's voice if he isn't gonna voice Mario?

Maybe a Zelda movie but a star fox movie feels like pushing it.

I don't think he has the voice for it. They should have went with the actual voice actor for it but they didn't because they wanted a name to do it. It's a shame because they rather go for hype than quality. I like Chris Pratt but not everyone is right for every part.

Oh i know, but star fox is not on par with mario/zelda. They clearly outshine star fox in popularity.

Dude I agree XD. I am just saying that they won't jump the gun to make a star fox movie after Mario when popular franchises like metroid, zelda, kirby, etc. would probably be the next ones to be made first.
