The second Punisher i thought was a nightmare, and i feel like Smallville has ruined roughly every character they put on their show, just for the sake of getting said character into a Live Action portrayal. does anyone else have a character they feel has been ruined?
Smallville was my intro to Superman and a lot of DC characters... so I don't feel the same way.
Every X3 characterization bothered me. Not just because it was so inconsistent with the comics, it was also inconsistent with the previous two movies. Storm was sweet and caring in the first two movies, then she became a bothersome "leader" in the third. Scott whined too much in the third. Wolverine's feral self was totally off and Prof. X did not scream at anyone until that third movie...

all the X movies and Carrys riddler. i loved that punisher movie lol
the only movies that HAVENT ruined the characters are the recent batman and first ironman movies, other than that they all kinda did a bad job, but this doesnt take away the entertainment of the movies, as they were still cool to see on the big screen
I'd have to agree. There weren't that many really good superhero movies before the recent Marvel and DC ones. Even Hellboy was awful cuz they deviated from the comics too much. Thank the Lord they re-did the Hulk. The first one was just mental. The new Superman looks good :-) the storyline too ;-D Someone I really really really want to have a good role in upcoming movies is J'onn J'onzz. I never saw the really cheap JLA they did years ago, but so far they haven't given him a great role in any animated movies. They make him so weak and they overplay his fear of fire. He's got all of Superman's powers (except invulnerability), plus shape-shifter and mind-powers (which is ALOT!!!!!!). And he's got a great story. I really hope this new JLA movie coming out will do him justice. Screw Superman, he gets enough attention! The green guy needs it now ;-)
Every one but Ironman. Tony was represented well even though i didn't like how they tried to make Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo the same dude in the second one. I am hard on movies and have never been fully pleased with any one.
Season 8 of buffy really dissapointed me, i feel like it let down the show, i just wasnt feelin the characters, the writing of the dialogue and everything just seemed wrong.
I think batman has been ruined because the new movies because he lacks the commanding presence he should have and TDK was just plain boring, the Hulk was nearly ruined though the movie was good but his design was awful until they redid it. James Bond was nearly ruined after Die Another Day, I still can't forgive them for that movie but luckily Casino Royale was made and we could almost forget that Die Another Day ever happened. am I the only who thought Brandon Routh made an awesome Superman?

Emma Frost in Wolverine Loved Tahyna Tozzi playing her, but they made her look ... not Emma-ish! And Silver Fox's sister? HELL NAW.
Tahyna Tozzi as Emma Frost in X-Men Origins: Wolverine Shadowcat in X-Men 3 She wasn't really a like-able character. Yeah she was fun and cool but she was made out to be the cmplete bad guy in the love triangle thing!

i kinda had that problem too. What i realized is that half the charm of the characters was the actors themselves. If you imagine every single panel in you head with SMG and co., it becomes allot more enjoyable. ... but yeah, it seemed like the comic should have been maybe half as long as it was. Most of the middle of season 8 was pointless, and wouldnt have been in the show.
I watched Ghost Rider last night, i liked it, but saying that i dont know much about him so i dont know if things were changed etc. cage did a gud job acting, he had the pain reaction when he first changed into Ghost Rider absolutely spot on, and you saw the pain turn in a sick pleasure, as he started to laugh, as more of the spirit of vengeance took hold. great acting in my opinion, i was impressed, visually good too, (Ghost Rider, Fight Scenes and Eva Mendes...nuff said!) I Would've however liek the blackheart character to of at least occasionally looked like he is in the comics, i liked him having a human like form, but for the fight scenes the 'evil' form he took wasnt convincing for me!
I think Deadpool was represented badly in Origins: Wolverine, but i do think Ryan Reynolds is the best actor for the role! i enjoyed the x-men movies, but prefer the comic versions myself! WHY oh WHy did they kill Professor X and Cyclops! Spidey 1,2 + 3 were cool. but not as good as they could have been. loved daredevil, so there! liked superman returns. and both new batman films. catwoman (halle berry) was cheesy at best and the CGI wasnt great!
comics can never ruin characters, for me what the writer writes, is always good and theres always a reason for it, if they werent good they wouldnt be doing it!

I am with you on this. I always go into these movies with quite a few low expectations, when I go to the cinema, I am not expecting perfect adaptation of a comic book character, but instead I am happy at the fact that the character has an adaptation. While I agree that some of these movies were horrible I still think that other weren't bad. I do not understand it when people get angry when the characters in the movie turn out to be different from the characters in the comics. I feel that if they are going to be in a different media, then it is likely that there will have to be changes made to the character for a bigger audience.
