Just how strong is Captain America supposed to be in the :

1) Comics &

2) Movies.

Someone at a local comic book shop told me the super soldier serum told me he was supposed to be peak human in strength and speed etc, but everything I've seen or read says he's much stronger than that. So what are his powers supposed to be?

Peakhuman in the comics and superhuman in the movies. The comics have more powerful versions of human beings and for that reason have more powerful maxed out humans.

"Peak Human" for comic book characters is far beyond Peak Human by real life standards. Cap it technically the pinnacle of human physical perfection in the comics but he does things that would clearly be considered superhuman if someone did it in real life.

Movie Cap is definitely Superhuman even in-universe.

Comic Rogers was never peak human. He was the peak of human perfection. Not the same thing. That technically classifies him as enhanced human, or low tier superhuman. More recent bios confirm this.

@huthimamwa: Cap's a superhuman. Batman is peak human with the shit he pulls off.

A lot of people need to know the difference between peak human and like Kre said, peak of human perfection. 616 Cap has numerous moments of performing feats that no other peak human (like Batman) could Hope to replicate

Technically he’s peak human in both. There’s something at the museum in TWS that confirms this. He pulls off some stuff that contradicts that tho. I feel like if you asked Joss Whedon or Kevin Feige they would say peak human

@green_tea: OK , so if he is peak of human existence, are his stunts in the movie similar to his showings in the comics? For example his Captain America Civil War showings (Running faster than cars and SUVs, pulling down a helicopter with an upward force of 7,000 Newtons, overpowering spiderman.)

He's superhuman in movies and supposed to be peak human in comics but comics are extremely unconsistent so he has superhuman feats even if he's not supposed to.

He's a 1.5 tonner if that helicopter from Civil War was only 3,000lbs
