The great thing about comics these days is it's become easier, in some ways, to make your own comic. With sites like Kickstarter and Indigogo, all you need is the right amount of backing to make your dreams come true. Obviously that is sometimes easier said than done.
While there are numerous different comic projects trying to be funded, one that caught my eye was TRUE PATRIOT, "an anthology of Canadian comic book adventures by some of your favourite Canadian comic book creators." (Notice I even left in the 'ou' in 'favourite').
Canadians and comic books go together more than many might realize. Fan Expo is a yearly comic convention in Toronto and has been growing each year. We often poke fun at our neighbors to the North by insinuating they all say "eh" at the end of each sentence and say words like "about" in a different way. The truth is, there is a lot of talent up there.
Check out this video description on the project to find out who's involved:
The creator involved include Adrian Alphona (Runaways), Andy B. (Kill Shakespeare), J. Bone (Super Friends), Jack Briglio (Scooby Doo), Scott Chantler (TwoGenerals), Tom Fowler (Hulk: Season One), Agnes Garbowska (Girl Comics), Faith Erin Hicks (Adventure Time),Tim Levins (Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes), Ramon Perez (A Tale of Sand), Ron Salas (28 Days Later), Jay Stephens (Secret Saturdays), J. Torres (Teen Titans Go), Howard Wong (After the Cape).
The important thing is, there's less than a week to go for the funding to happen. Check out the rest of the information HERE to find out about perks, including how you could pre-order it which goes towards the funding as well.
