Does Pre/Post-Flashpoint Martian Manhunter have the damage capability to bust a moon? I've heard people saying that he cannot. I am curious as to what the general consensus is.
Can Martian Manhunter moon bust?
Makes me curious. If Martian Manhunter is as strong as Superman then it doesn't make sense that the entire race of Martians would die out on Mars. Its not the same as Krypton where their powers were laid dormant from lack of Yellow Sun exposure
@_kingoflatveria: Faulty logic. As a Viner, I have the ability to planet bust but I haven't done so yet.
He doesn't really have many environmental feats, but he does have feats against other high tiers that could do that, so you can make the case for it.
@wollfmyth209: it could be low end anti feats for high tiers
@nwgzsjuwhm96y2: That many high tiers jobbing that many times is too much mental gymnastics. More likely, it's just MMH is on that level.
@wollfmyth209: every high tier jobs at least 10s of times in long running series like DC. But i agree that MM being strong is more likely.
If Martian Manhunter nearly equals Superman in strength, then yeah, he can...
Important note: The limit's of Martian Manhunter's strength, are also, unknown...
I feel like this has something to do with Piccolo.
@johnnyz256: Limits?
@thedeputy: I felt obligated to correct someone's egregious use of an apostrophe. I don't know that he saw it, though.
People here do realise that Superman busted the moon because of the fact that he used Infinite Mass Punch (i.e. near lightspeed mass boost so to speak)?
Basically Superman's moon busting has more to do with speed mass boost than pure strength, there are characters who don't have decent super-strength but because of the IMP/Lightspeed punch they can bust large objects like Monica Rambeau/Spectrum for example , - so basically if MMH can use IMP, then yes he can bust a moon.
Most likely but he has never done so dat being said he isnt a d!ckhead who goes around destroying celestial bodies so even if he can he wont....
@lord_spectrum: but we need the speed scans.
He doesn’t really need to be that physically strong.
Neither is Superman.
The moon busting power of his, has to do with SPEED (IMP), than STRENGTH.

You guys are missing the point. Byrne's Superman was more interesting then other Superman for a good reason

MMH blitzing every White Martian on Earth
Travels countless light years
Fights the FLash
@thedeputy: damn he's fast but we don't know how fast tho.
He is supposed to be close to Superman so he should be able to. But I feel like he isn't in enough comics to have a lot of feats
Not even close. Superman needed his best shot and was knocked out after that, and superman is atleast half a tier above the martian in pure physicals.
By Power Scaling, yes.
Yes.
If her wanted to.
He probably could with several punches but not with one hit I would think.
Based on what?

He has more than enough appearances. Beta Ray Bill and Gladiator have a fraction of his appearances and they have planet-busted.
He doesn't hold a candle to superman in pure physicals. Sure he is a high tier but that's not simply enough. He does have extremely powerful TP though.
@apex_pretador: mostly based off of the idea that he is on the same strength level as superman.
If he is weaker than supes by a considerable margin than I guess the correct answer would be he cannot?

Well, has has consistently been overpowered by characters who superman gives a hard time or even outright beats. And in addition to that, Martian Manhunter doesn't even have a fraction of quantifiable feats Superman has.
However, he more than makes up with his TP, effectively becoming the most poewrful JLA member
@apex_pretador: but he gives superman himself a hard time? So have lesser martians. You can’t do ABC logic, comic writers are too inconsistent.
Anyway in the new justice league run, he’s destroyed the moon so. Batman did aid with bombs at the point of impact but if you discredit him for that, then it doubles as a durability feat none the less. He took zero damage.
Yes quite easily he just doesn’t want to I mean he can push and pull planets like superman and can move faster than the speed of light so yeah he should be able to besides he already did so in Scott Snyder justice league run doubt he needed Batman’s help.
Not with his pure strength, he lacks the feats as well as the scaling. He did it in the new JL volume by blitzing into the Moon at top speed (he also took the form of a huge dragon), plus Batman’s secret “Moon bombs” helped him. So yes he most probably could via blitz but not through pure (punching) striking power.
His striking feats are meh at best.
Through basic scaling Martian Manhunter is clearly a planetary power level and maybe solar system level with amps/wank.
