A lot of times when Flash is put against the rest of the JL, people assume he'd be able to resist Martian Manhunter's telepathy because of the old 'speed up your thoughts so he can't read them!' trope. Although I've never actually seen Wally actually do this. I think Barry almost managed it against Black Lantern MMH one time but BL MMH was really just stalling him at that point. However for Wally I don't know of a single occasion where he's done that. It seems like if he could easily resist telepathy just by thinking faster, Gorilla Grodd wouldn't be much of a challenge for him. Can somebody show me scans of Wally West displaying any kind of telepathic resistance?

@olubummo:

He isn't talking about a fight here. He's just asking whether they can TP him or not? If he's caught off guard what do you think would happen?

It's on the list of "can Flash get drunk", where if a writer wants him to be immune, he's immune.

@olubummo: ah I see ok you have said more than enough I congratulate you for this sound explanation for the argument, it is obvious you are well versed in flash. Just wanted to point out mmh ain’t no slowcoach but dc speedsters are at the top of the hierarchy in speed. Hats off to you 👏 👏 .

Him being able to resist TP because he can speed up his thoughts is so stupid. Flash is just utterly broken.

@olubummo: The Batman Who Laughs indicated Cyborg is the most powerful member of the Justice League during Metal and that leads into Justice/Doom demonstrating Flash isn't the only JL member tied to a fundamental force of creation.

Flash = speed force

GL = emotional spectrum

Aquaman = life force

MMH = universal consciousness

Wonder Woman = shere of the gods

Cyborg = dimensional structure

Superman = belief / faith / imagination (5th dimensional energy)

Several were swapped out during the war but the ties to the powers of creation were definitely expanded to other characters so some of your reasoning seems a bit dated.

The issue with statements is some other writer overturns them. Speedforce no longer seems like the trump card it once was.

Flash has shown that he is resistant to TP but not immune.

Perpetua also had access to the seven forces of creation and so did Apex Lex. The difference was Flash demonstrated his experience trumped Lex's experience while MMH's mind outsped Perpetua, who is not inexperienced with these powers.

Based on recent JL I would say MMH can TP Flash.

@olubummo: You don't always have to go overboard with this man. I know Flash is extremely powerful.

@olubummo: Flash can "resist". You said so yourself. It's easy enough to provide scans of Flash failing to resist telepathy.

reality
reality
perception
perception

Cyborg and Wonder Woman have both demonstrated better TP resistance than the Flash. All three of them were frozen in their own minds by MMH so saying Flash already demonstrated resistance to MMH falls short when the opposite can also be shown.

MMH, Supes, and Cyborg all perceive and think in ridiculous speeds as well. That's the point of the planck time scan. Being able to resist TP because of superfast thinking gets marginalized fast facing a telepath with similar superfast thinking.

@olubummo: You are treating resistance like it's immunity. It's not It's resistance. It's not bad writing for writers to treat resistance like resistance instead of immunity and Flash fails to TP much more than he resists it.

"Statues don't fight back" is a meaningless argument when the speed of MMH's mind was already shown to be more that sufficient to not be statued. He does not have to physically move in such a case for it to be relevant.

These images...

...are being used inaccurately.

MMH is not demonstrating he's struggling with reading Flash's thoughts. He successfully contacted Flash's mind and understands Flash's thoughts are moving that fast, and shows no sign of struggling in the process. He's inside Flash's mind just seeing the room in the first place. The images are the result of Despero successfully TP'ing Flash and part of the Forever Evil arc. It was all a virtual reality and Flash's additional issues were another layer within a layer. That was something Despero had done to help keep them in the firestorm matrix.

I'm not sure if you knew the context behind those images or not, but it's actually a demonstration of Flash's failure to resist Despero's TP and not an example of resisting MMH's TP. You're also using ABC logic when MMH has beaten and failed to beat both Despero and Grodd.

@olubummo: All of that takes place in a virtual reality created by Despero. The room Flash and MMH are in are part of the VR. They are all trapped in the firestorm matrix at that time and it turns out everything going on was in their minds the whole time.

Flash not only never left that room, he was never in it to begin with. The room never existed at all because it was just a construct in their minds.
