Joaquin's Joker laugh is better than anything Cranston ever did as Walter.
That isn't even a slight against Cranston, who was terrific in the role, but Joaquin's laugh (pre-Joker transformation) is legit some of the best acting I've ever seen. He manages to convey so much pain through the laugh, and blurs the line so brilliantly to the point where it's hard to tell whether he's laughing or crying at times, such as the scene at Hoyt's Office early on in the movie.
Its a poor choice to compare someone who grows so much over the course of a show, to someone who is only given a limited amount of time on a movie to me. Joaquin's acting is top tier theres little doubt about that, but the substance of his role is nowhere comparable to Walter's development.
