Poll Better Memes: GoT or MCU? (43 votes)
Being as popular as they are, Game of Thrones and the MCU have spawned quite a few memes. Which ones do you think are consistently better?
Also, if you have some favorites to show off, by all means do!

MCU because the MCU is actually entertaining, and it deserves all the hype it gets.
OT: Sorry just upset about S8......... anyways, yeah MCU memes tend to be better.
Anyone have any favorites they want to share?
Also, I agree that LotR has some of the best memes of all.
@theoneabovelife: To be fair, I think the first half of Season 8 was solid. Hardly without it's flaws, but I still think it was pretty good. The second half of Season 8 though, deserves almost all the hate it gets (though I did love the Cleganebowl).
Season 8 memes have made me spit up my food on 3 occasions.
Oh Geez comic vine MCU memes-comic vine memes in general are not a good representation of actual good memes. Check out the r/thanosdidnothingwrong subreddit for actual good MCU memes
@amcu: True. No reason for them to be separate!
GoT. It has more material to work with. :>
I don't know, I think the MCU's got a lot at this point.
@shroudofsorrow: Sorry, I should clarify. I mean that GoT's decline in quality makes for a lot funnier material.
@amcu: Nice
@daisy_johnson: Heh. Good one.

Personally, I only think it's declined in quality over the last two episodes. I thought Season 6 was one of the best, and 7 and the first half of 8 were both solid. Its the two most recent episodes that were duds.
@shroudofsorrow: I think it's been declining in quality ever since season 4 with season 5 and 6 still being great ( just not at the levels of prior seasons ) and 7 and the beginning of season 8 declining noticeably until it had a meltdown starting at "The Battle of Winterfell" up to now.
@killbilly: The Battle of Winterfell was flawed, though I wouldn't call it terrible. I thought Theon's sacrifice was very well done, and I loved the Sansa/Tyrion scenes, especially when she tells him "You were the best of them". I was even fine with Arya being the one to kill Night King. My main problem was the lack of lighting.
I am glad you liked Season 6 though. I really hate it when people crap on it because fan-service. Man do I hate that argument so much.
@shroudofsorrow: I thought Theon's sacrifice felt a little TOO perfect if you take my meaning. Bran, the person he betrayed is there to forgive him for his sins right before he dies charging at the Night King, giving his life in order to protect the the person he betrayed despite his previous acts of cowardice. Despite the convenience of the scene, I still enjoyed it. What I did NOT enjoy was the anti-climactic defeat of the Night King and his undead horde along with many of the decisions made by the side of the living in that episode.
@killbilly: Was it really so anti-climactic though? I mean, we all knew it would end with this episode. If Night King had slinked away and cheated defeat in order to have another big battle later, wouldn't that have been worse?
@shroudofsorrow: I had no idea how the episode would end. I honestly thought the living would be driven to retreat to the South and be forced to put aside their pride, ambition and bitterness and ask Cersei for her aid, perhaps in exchange for recognizing her as their sovereign. The White Walkers were built up for 8 seasons as a world ending threat and were given considerable screen time ( I'd say around a quarter of each episode either directly mentioned or hinted at them as a growing threat and/or dealt with the repercussions of that ). For it all to be thrown away in one badly lit episode where the characters suddenly lose all common sense, Bran is utterly useless and Arya appears out of nowhere to take out the Night King feels extremely cheap. Especially when you realize that we still have no idea why the Night King wanted to end all life in the first place or how the White Walkers came to be.
@killbilly: Well again, we all knew this episode would be the final battle. So it was going to end then and there. I don't thin that's necessarily wrong. I do agree with you that the lighting was terrible, but that doesn't make the fight itself or the resolution bad. Though I take your point that Arya coming out of nowhere wasn't good, but I do like the idea of her being the one to destroy him even if the execution of the scene was dodgy.

GoT S8 memes are top tier unmatched
This. Season 8's drastic drop in quality has lead to a drastic increase in meme quality.

Again, I didn't know if it was going to end then and there, and I personally didn't want it to.
The Arya scene could have been made tolerable if we'd see her take on the face of one of the wights and make her way through the army of the dead towards the Night King to build up suspense and tension but as it is she just feels like she was used as a get out of jail free card by the writers.
