Better film: The Incredibles or The Batman?
The Batman is better. Implements its themes better, and is far better in a technical manner.
Overall I think it’s a much better film
I think The Incredibles stomps The Batman. I think The Incredibles is a better film than The Batman.
The Incredibles has a better storyline, The Incredibles is more enjoyable to watch, The Incredibles shows the contrast between the light heroic stages (First meeting of Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl, Mr. Incredible saving the building from Bomb Voyage, Mr. Incredible saving the train from falling and killing the passengers, Mr. Incredible getting a family, Mr. Incredible working back to reliving his heyday and meeting Edna, Mr. Incredible doing a heroic job with Frozone in the building etc.) and the dark bad stages (e.g. trickery and immoral work from Mirage, Syndrome, Syndrome's workers, The Omnidroid) very well. The music was very good in The Incredibles. The music for The Incredibles theme is catchy, the music when Mr. Incredible finds out that The Omnidroid has killed many superheroes was mysterious. The plot in The Incredibles is more coherent than The Batman's plot, the storyline in The Incredibles is more coherent than the storyline in The Batman, even Mr. Incredible's superhero car has a better design than Batman's car, the relationship between Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl/Mrs. Incredible had better chemistry than the relationship between Batman and Catwoman, the villains (including Bomb Voyage...even though Bomb Voyage's time on screen was short...Syndrome, Mirage, Syndrome's workers) in The Incredibles were better than the villains in the Batman film. The costume design of the superheroes in The Incredibles were better than the costume designs of Batman, Catwoman, Joker and Penguin in The Batman movie. The Incredibles also has no woke stuff, which is a plus, whereas The Batman has woke stuff. Even the small part showing The Underminer at the end was funny and the way the Incredibles were ready to get into their costumes showed that they were getting down to business. The comedic parts in The Incredibles were funny and done very well...Frozone's wife was funny, Edna was funny, Dash messing around with his teacher was funny, Mr. Incredible punching his employer was funny etc. There is a theory that the superheroes in The Incredibles got their powers from Government experimentation, and if that's true then that makes their story even more interesting. Yes, some of the heroes in The Incredibles copy heroes from the past...for example The Incredibles are based of The Fantastic Four...Gazerbeam looks like X-Men's Cyclops...Frozone has a surfboard like The Silver Surfer...yes, copying loses some points for me...but that doesn't make it worse than The Batman film, I still think The Incredibles is better than The Batman. I know that there are many people who like The Batman but I don't like that film. The Incredibles also had better action-packed sequences...like the suspense and tension when Mrs. Incredible tried to save her children from being killed by the aerial weapon that was targeting the plane mid-air. Mr. Incredible fighting The Omnidroid and trying to live back his heyday was exciting, The Incredibles working together to fight the latest version of The Omnidroid was exciting, Mr. Incredible fighting Syndrome solo was exciting. Spoiler for anybody who hasn't seen The Incredibles, I liked the twist when Mr. Incredible found out that Buddy was Syndrome...all Syndrome had to do was say that line he said 15 years earlier "I'm your biggest fan" and it made Mr. Incredible go back in his memory and regret how he treated Buddy. Syndrome is also an interesting villain in that it is quite a unique take on a villain with Asperger's Syndrome, hence his villain name. Riddler was nothing like comics Riddler and his actions looked silly and his design copied The Zodiac Killer...Penguin wasn't the Oswald Cobblepott that we all know and love but was some second-rate thug...Catwoman wasn't as interesting as the previous versions of Catwoman and her mask looked silly.
That being said, I think Batman (1989), The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Batman Begins are better live-action Batman films than The Incredibles.
For me, Incredibles hands down. You can make the argument that it's one of the best superhero films even when compared to other CBMs.
The Incredibles, all day, every day, 7 days a week and twice on Sundays.
Brad Bird should direct MCU Fantastic 4.
