The Dark Knight has been commonly seen as the greatest CBM of all time. Joker has been receiving massive amounts of praise and has been called a masterpiece.
Which is better?

I prefer personally but I can understand TDK being a better film. Not the acting in Joker is superior to TDK.

I like Joker more because I enjoyed the simplicity of the plot and I found it more emotionally impactful. It's the only film to have ever made me feel truly uncomfortable. Having said that, in terms of objective film criticism, I don't think it's better. It's likely on the same level, but not better.
I'll go with JOKER, I'm impressed with it more since it's a stand alone and handles very real life issues, mixing it with one of the greatest comic book characters of all time. TDK had help from a trilogy setting imo.
Probably should wait until hype dies down.
Joker wasn't as good as TDK though imo.
Still yet to see Joker. However, TDK is just a masterful classic at this point. Good to see some conflicting opinions between these two films. I'll have high expectations seeing Joker.
TDK. I also think Ledger is still the best Joker even though Phoenix gave a better performance if that makes sense.
The Dark Knight. If JOKER was missing just one element for me, it was Batman and the Joker facing off with one another. I would absolutely love to see this version of the character come into conflict with Batman
Also this.
TDK. Joker is great, but TDK is still untouched.
For me, TDK stands out as a more complete film. The supporting cast is stronger and more fleshed out, the villain is more memorable and Ledger gives us a better performance, Hans Zimmer score and The Dark Knight just gets better and better with every passing year, by far one of the greatest movie of all time, we need time to know if Joker will hold up.
So I finally saw Joker. Must say I was impressed. The only thing that separates the two films for top spot, in my opinion, is genre preference.
The Dark Knight takes it for me.
Those are different movies. I prefer Joker, but TDK has more intensity and action, while Joker has more drama and tragedy tone. Matter of taste but both are 10/10
Joker is 100 times better than The Dark Knight which has one of the worst portrayal of hero and one dimensional villain who happens to be so perfect and is a Mary Sue character
@AshokumarJoker ain't no Mary sue lol, Rey from sw and brie Larson in junk like cm were Mary sues..so don't know what the hell you're talking about, what are you on bro? Lol. Joker was already experienced for years as we learned in BB ending, not just some thug Batman could easily take out.
And how was batman one of the worst heroes exactly? Your logic makes no sense...
Anyway, this is hard so I'll say I like them equally foe entirely different reasons. Both jokers made sense in their own way and explain why they are what they are. Ledgers during the movie. Phoenix's by the end. So tie for me.
The combination of a more substantial film, a better villain in Ledger's Joker, and fantastic visuals and effects easily make The Dark Knight surpass Joker in every way. It belongs in the collection of rare films that do better as a sequel than the originals.
This is the movie which turned me into a huge Batman fan, and overall my favourite CBM by a wide margin. Joker is not comparable except for Phoenix's performance and even if it's a great movie it's still not good as TDK.
I respect Joker but I didn’t care much for the movie while The Dark Knight is in my Top-10 CBM’s of all time. The acting and the director’s approach to our perception of reality in Joker was engaging, but the overall film left me unsatisfied. Frankly, I like TDK more and will likely watch it many more times in my life... but not as many as Batman Begins. I really love Nolan’s first outing with the Bat.
Joker for me. I don't know what everyone see's in Ledger's Joker. For me, he was boring, one note to be exact. But, this is not exactly the most popular opinion on this site.
