Comic vine is funny man
Day after BP released in theaters, near unanimous reaction, except from racists as mofos on Rotten Tomatoes who hadnt even seen the movies trying to crash its score cause we cant have a black movie doing well in this country: "Black Panther is awesome!!"
Months later
1. "Black Panther is only popular cause black people and social justice warriors like it so much 2. Black Panther is like the 35th best comic book movie of all time lol"
Black Panther is better than Joker in everyway except lead actor.
Not really, the hype surrounding BP was overblown, people expected too much from it, but watching the film multiple times, its flaws shows up, Lion King like story, funny dialogue, passable CGI and soundtrack, mediocre editing, average performances and generic MCU cinematography.
While Joker promised a grounded and gritty origin story of the clown prince of crime, and for me, it delivered on all levels.
It has an engaging story, it blends the Taxi Driver & The King of Comedy inspirations with its comic roots forming a believable Joker
Second, Joaquin Phoenix is amazing in the film, he embodied the psychologically damaged Arthur Fleck to perfection, his mannerisms, voice and physicality are above heads and shoulders from BP
Third, the cinematography is nothing short of a beauty, it really captured a realistic Gotham City in vain of New York City from the late 70's to early 80's
Fourth, the soundtrack is unsettling, dramatic and amazing, it really represents the overall tone and feel of the film.
