Better CBM: The Dark Knight Or Across The Spider-Verse
@ghostodoofus2: I made this thread mainly because of the hype lol.
Feel like the poll would be a lot closer with new movie hype backing ATSV.
Hold up!! Let the ATSV hype settle first lol
TDK is still the better movie.
You can argue that ATSV is the better comic book movie, though.
I'd have to say TDK tbh. ATSV is amazing, but TDK is at a level of rich storytelling that you'll have a lot of trouble finding in cbms. So yeah, TDK takes it. No disrespect to ATSV, but I think the hype needs to die down a bit so that people can look back a bit more critically on it
I actually liked Batman Begins better. I would put that on the same level at ATSV. I think that the Nolan trilogy touched on deeper topics and themes, and was more mature, but I liked ATSV a tad better than TDK, and the same as Batman Begins.
Yeah, that's definitely fair. Begins was a deeper and more mature movie than ATSV. ATSV was really good action with a lot of heart behind it, and some people prefer that, so I can see the debate
ATSV is a great movie but TDK is on a higher level because it transcends the CBM genre. I think there is a lot of hype now but once it dies down and people see things more clearly TDK is still easily going to be on top. There is a reason why almost every CBM that releases is compared to TDK and it is still the best. The IMDB comparison was silly and rushed, and right now ATSV already went down and TDK is on top as it should be.
I feel like people will never consider TDK beaten by other CBM.
All of these comparison seem pointless to me.
To be fair, it's a pretty ginormous bar to clear and it'll probably never happen with how things are going
