Beta Ray Bill Respect Thread.

Respect Beta Ray Bill

Beta Ray Bill needed a proper respect thread, so I decided to make one.

I am very aware of the Beta Ray Bill respect thread, in Beta Ray Bill's forum section, but it was filled with people hating on the character, and the OP left, and never finished it.

I'll be separating the feats into their respective category.

1. Strength

Strength

Scans 1-4: Beta Ray Bill is able to disarm Thor, then fights him in H2H combat, until Thor gets turned back into Donald Blake.

Scan 1-7: Beta Ray Bill again, fights, and eventually "beats" Thor in H2H combat. (It was more along a stalemate, but Beta Ray Bill was able to heal faster, due to the sun.)

Scan 3-4: Beta Ray Bill cracks Galactus' armor.

Scans 1-2: Beta Ray Bill taking a blast from Galactus that was able to wreck half of a planet, and it just pisses Bill off.

Scans 3-4: Beta Ray Bill wakes up in the heart of a sun, then casually files away.

Scans 5-6: Beta Ray Bill taking a planet busting explosion.

Scans 3-4: Beta Ray Bill endures the force of 2 singularities, and has the strength to throw Stormbreaker out of it. (Probably Beta Ray Bill's best durability feat)

Scans 5-7: Beta Ray Bill takes another planet busting attack.

Speed

Alright, Beta Ray Bill is a bit lacking on speed feats, but through context, he is easily given a nanosecond reaction feat. I'll do my best to explain it.

Scans 1-2: Beta Ray Bill can easily perceive things moving FTL.

Scan 3: Beta Ray Bill quickly travels across half a galaxy.

Scan 4: Beta Ray Bill reacts in a millisecond, but it feels like hours to him. This is also a better than a millisecond feat; Bill's perception can amplify to a point where a single millisecond can feel like several hours. This wound indicate he's operating at least in the nanosecond ranges.

Scan 5: Beta Ray Bill overwhelms Stardust with his bull rush.

Scans 1-2: Beta Ray Bill stops a bull rushing Silver Surfer; while there is nothing directly showing how fast Surfer is moving, the battles context shows that Bill was able to react in at least nanoseconds. After Galactus destroyed Beta Ray Bill's race, Bill went on to starve Galactus. Silver Surfer was trying to catch up to skuttlebutt, that was commanded to go full as fast as it can by Bill. Skuttlebutt was clocked moving several times the speed of light. Skuttlebutt is a robot, and has no ability to disobey. If this isn't enough, Surfer was definitely rushing do to the fact that when Bill stopped him, his board was moving so fast, it broke through Skuttlebutt's hull. At this point, I'm fairly certain that Bill is in the nanosecond range.

Scans 1-6: A depowered Beta Ray Bill takes uncouples his reactors, and is able to hold off a barrage that the combined forces of Stardust & Silver Surfer werent able to hold off. Beta Ray Bill is only allowed to be in this state in a few minutes before he gets exhausted.

Scans 7-8: Beta Ray Bill able to use Stormbreaker to shield him completely from attacks.

Scans 5-6: Beta Ray Bill manifests a storm capable of blocking magical energies that were being emitted from the Black Sun.

Origin

It's going to be a little sloppy, but I may fix it up later on:

Bill was a member of the extraterrestrial Korbinite race, whose galaxy had been destroyed by the Asgardian fire demon Surtur in order to forge his Twilight Sword. The Korbinites who survived the destruction of their galaxy determined that they needed a guardian to protect them, and their Sheo-'re (scientists) created the automaton Alpha Ray, a bio-mechanical creature that ultimately proved too mentally unstable. Believing that they needed a protector with a soul, the Korbinite scientists tested thousands of their finest men in search of the warrior they needed. Bill was the only test subject to survive the grueling physical and psychological tests, and was converted by bio-engineering into a powerful cybernetic form re¬christened "Beta Ray Bill."

The Korbinites' Great Fleet of ships set off in a convoy to find a new home, and the entire population entered into cold sleep until their voyage's end. Bill led the convoy aboard his starship Skuttlebutt, but they were soon assaulted by Surtur's demons, who emerged from the exploded Burning Galaxy's galactic core. Bill scouted ahead, hoping to find a new home, and was detected by S.H.I.E.L.D.'s hyperspatial probe. Believing Skuttlebutt a threat to Earth, S.H.I.E.L.D sent Thor to investigate. He breached Skuttlebutt's hull and fought Beta Ray Bill, but when parted from his hammer Mjolnir for more than 60 seconds, Thor reverted to his mortal identity of Donald Blake. Bill easily struck Blake down, and then searched for Mjolnir, hoping to claim it for himself. He found the hammer transformed into a cane, and struck it against a wall in disgust, only to find himself transformed, having proven himself worthy of the power of Thor.

Because Bill had a legitimate claim to Mjolnir, and wished to use it against the demons plaguing the Great Fleet, Thor's father Odin settled the matter by having Bill and Thor face each other in a fair fight in the land of Skartheim, a fight which Bill ultimately won. As his reward, Odin had the dwarf Eitri forge the hammer Stormbreaker, which shared many of Mjolnir's enchantments, and bestowed it upon Bill.

Yeah, I liked when he was with Sif. I hope he gets more Marvel Now! appearances. He's only had a few appearances in Nova.

@beaconofstrength: Well done. It should be noted, BRB awakens near suns and stuff because heat actually empowers him. It comes up more than a few times throughout his run.

Beta Ray Bill vs. Ego

Beta Ray Bill can absorb cosmic energy with his hammer, and disrupt energy fields with his hammer.

He can also easily create and travel across solar systems by creating wormholes and/or teleporting (does both).

@beaconofstrength: Hes not really empowered by the sun just in hot places and I know a perk oh that is he will never be tired in a hot place like a sun or volcano

@kgb725: IIRC, Skuttlebutt and Bill use the sun as "fuel". I will do a little more research on this topic before I add it to the OP, though.

You should probably edit in Bill being awakened and empowered by heat on the second Thor fight scans. It was explicitly stated in the issue that it was the heat which woke Bill up. And I see I'm not the first one to point that out to you.

@beaconofstrength: Late response but point still stands. Thor > Beta Ray Bill. At the very least theyre equals. This has been show through out their fights. Thing is Beta Ray Bill doesnt hold back like Thor does. Thats why most of his feats are high-end.

There are other users who in fact do have experience with RT's who actually thought the RT was good. I hold their opinion in way more value than some random guy who has no experience doing something similar. There is still like 3 things wrong with my phrasing but otherwise it's pretty solid.

I agree with him on some points. There are things he said where he was right. I'm not going to read through all of his appearances because that takes way too long, so it's logical that I missed some context. Others are just the smallest nitpicks or are just not right at all. In the blog post I mentioned 3 where I can agree on. The rest are either debatable or just non-true.

It's just the way he says it that bothers me. Immediatly saying it is crap after 5 minutes of the post going public is just bullshit since there would be no way to read all the feats in that amount of time, and it just isn't fair considering the time I invested in it for other people.

I mean, a RT is supposed to be a full coverage of a character tbf. It's only natural that some are missed as people are not gonna be infallible.

I can agree that the way it was stated was very in your face lol. I suppose when someone is passionate about a character they want to talk about it with strong words. I wouldn't perhaps agree with blocking them: that only creates more indifference: but I can get the reaction. There's still stuff to improve upon but we all started from that point etc

Blocking him was just my reaction at the moment. I'm just upset that something I have spend hours on for other people's entertainment gets pissed on because of a few nitpicks.

How much did you research? You seemed to have scans of various different qualities in that RT.

I searched up all his appearances on a reading order website and I looked through every comic to find every battle related feat I could find and I putted it in the RT. They're all cropped by myself if that's what you are wondering.
