Best Stuff in Comics This Week: 8-8-16

Harley's hanging out with Poison Ivy. They're discussing how some people just hate things that will change their lifestyle. Ivy is more concerned about the environment surviving and figures the planet would be better off if humans ceased to exist. Harley points out that without humans, who would give her a butt massage?

Strangest Hot Dog Eating Montage

An alien lands on Earth and disguises himself as a cow. Let's just say things didn't go too well for him, and he was caught off guard when the cows were taken to a factory. This lead to an almost erotic montage of people and animals feasting on the tainted meat. You can imagine what happens next.

Deadpool v Gambit #3

Best Fighting Sequence Showing Deadpool Getting Beat Up

Deadpool made the mistake of fighting Fat Cobra, one of the Immortal Weapons along side Iron Fist. He demonstrates just a few of his different fighting moves.

Best Alternate Costume

Deadpool is given a gift to help retrieve an ancient artifact. We think the new (temporary) look is pretty rad.

Batman #4

Best Way to Dispose of a Damaged Batmobile

We know Batman is pretty rich. What does he do if the Batmobile gets wrecked by an enemy? He can't call AAA to have it towed. Because money is apparently no object, he simply blows up the wreckage so no one else will take any of the tech inside.

Lady Killer 2 #1

Best Reason Not to Host a Tupperware Party

Set in the 60s, no one suspects Josie Schuller is really a ruthless assassin-for-hire. After a Tupperware party run by Josie is over and the owner of the house insults and dismisses her, we discover the old lady is actually the target for the latest mission.

Aquaman #4

Best Evidence That Aquaman Has a Sense of Humor

Based on a misunderstanding, Aquaman allows himself to be taken into custody. When they ask him if he has any special needs to his Atlantean physiology, Aquaman mentions talking to fish and listening to whale songs.

Spidey #9

Best Fight Sequence That Almost Looks Like a Dance

Kraven the Hunter is looking for Spider-Man. Once they start fighting, it's a very graceful fight showing how coordinated and skilled both fighters are.

Superman #4

Best Spur-of-the-Moment Pep Talk

It's a serious situation and time for Jon Kent to step into the action. He's hesitant to use his powers of a recent mishap. His mother, Lois, gives him some great advice, "You can be great...choose to be."

Daredevil Annual #1

Best Music to Save Your Life

Klaw has unleashed a scheme where the music playing transforms people into his mindless slaves. Echo places headphones on Dardevil to block out the tainted music and plays some music by Prince music to save him.

Deadpool: Too Soon? Infinite Comic #3

Best Sandra Bullock Reference

Deadpool and others are fighting a strange hybrid made up of himself and Squirrel Girl. The creature mentions hating gravity as she/it falls onto Deadpool's sword. He comments that he dug the movie that shares that name.

James Bond #8

Best Reason Not to Fight James Bond in an Elevator

A couple agents try sneaking up attacking James Bond as he gets on an elevator. He quickly shows them this is a really bad idea. It goes really, really bad for them.

Nightwing #2

Grossest Surprise Attack

What the heck is going on here? Looking at this image, you almost don't want to know. Poor Nightwing better get on his feet and get out of there.

Uncanny X-Men #11

Best Conversation About John Fogerty and Creedence Clearwater Revival

We see a couple guards passing the time having a friendly conversation on the different between John Fogerty's solo career and his time with CCR. There is a difference between those eras. Unfortunately, as you can imagine, the conversation doesn't get to go much further before chaos erupts.

Justice League #2

Best Display of Flash's Speed

It's always great to see Flash zipping around, saving day. It's also fun to see how different artists approach depicting how fast he is.

Vote Loki #3

Best "Full Meal on a Stick"

Loki is presented with the ultimate all-in-one meal. All your courses are in one package. You just have to eat it before the dessert melts. Loki was so impressed, he joked about getting another cast in Uru since it deserves to be a weapon.

Suicide Squad: Rebirth #1

Best Reason to be Happy to Have a Bomb in Your Neck

Deadshot isn't thrilled about his co-workers. As he is forced to listen to their banter, he begs Amanda Waller to set his off and put him out of his misery.

I haven't read the issue but I'm glad Deadpool got his ass kicked by Fat Cobra beacuse there is no way he should be able to beat him considering Iron Fist can't even do that.

The real question is can Bond clear the elevator scene in TWS?

I'm disappointed they brought back fat Waller. Fit Waller was better because she both talked the talk and walked the walk. They also never explain how the change even happened.

You know, since Marvel exists in their own universe and time moves differently in comics than it does for us, I'm not against Loki being President or Marvel making up their own character for the job. That way they don't have to worry about who is going in and out and don't have to keep them in shadow half the time.

Rebirth, that's what happened.

That Harley Quinn issue was pretty much the worst garbage i´ve encountered this month.

So Harley's in to anal/buttplay and that Loki shot is a depiction of USA?

Fat Cobra action! Man, makes me really miss Immortal Iron Fist. That was an excellent book.

Alien disguised as a cow? Harley just ripped off Fantastic Four vol 1 issue 2!

Also, shouldn't those hotdogs be hamburgers? Hotdog sausages are pork, not beef - they come from pigs, not cows!

Is it just me, or did anyone else think the girl in that Superman #4 panel was a schoolgirl around Jon's age? I had no idea that was Lois until I read the description.

Also, Aquaman has the best sense of humor.

I can see why you would think that. Patrick Gleason uses really expressive eyes and faces in general so it is possible to confuse an adult with a kid.

Yeah, Aquaman rocks!

Lois might have been more recogniseable were her hair not tied back.

Fat Waller was at least unique. Skinny Waller is just another generic character.

Plus it made her more intimidating, some short, chubby woman giving a meta-human who could take on Batman or Superman orders, you'd think it was stupid until she put you in your place

Aquaman has been getting quite good with the last couple of issues, but DC really needs to get some consistent art. Enough with the fill-ins.
