Best performance - Paul Dano's Riddler or Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor?
Jesse Eisenberg's performance as Lex Luthor was far beyond anything Paul Dano had to offer as the Riddler. Eisenberg perfectly embodied Luthor with his master plans, and his depiction was unreal. The Riddler was boring and forgettable. This isn't comparable. Jesse Eisenberg wins this by a long shot.
I admittedly fell asleep for about 25% of The Batman due to the medication I’m on and even from that quarter, I still remember Dano impressing me more. I’d be lying if I said my decision isn’t partly based on Eisenberg’s performance making me cringe.
They're not comparable at all. Dano made the Riddler look terrifying while I wasn't really impressed with Eisenberg's performance.
I actually just rewatched Batman v Superman last night, and I’m still not a fan of that Lex. Riddler curbstomps.
@modernww2fare: Honestly, Lex Luthor is an intellectually imposing alpha male, Jesse Eisenberg is a beta and can't play alphas even if he tried.
@d00mslayer1993: @the_stegman: The problem with casting Eisenberg is that he's a beta male and Lex is an intellectually imposing alpha male, you can't cast a beta to play an alpha. Eisenberg can't intimidate a kitten if he tried.
Is this a joke? Dano curbstomps.
Eisenberg was an abysmal choice for Luthor and it shows. Maybe it was the directing choices, but Dano still comes across more like his comic counterpart. Even disregarding accuracy, I found Dani’s performance to be better than whatever the hell Eisenberg was doing Hmm-ing and mumbling to himself. Not a lot of intimidation factor going on.
