This.
Either way...This has been the greatest year to date for nerd flicks and 2015 is set to be even better!
Voted TWS btw...slightly better than DoFP IMO!

only if Sin City is awesome will I say that.
Otherwise 2008-
There's also no way 2015 will be better. All we have is Avengers 2 and Ant-Man. Ant-Man is looking like an absolute train wreck too.
Cap. ASM2 was a descent film but a horrid ending and I'll not bother to show up for any more of this series. The other two were great, but Cap beat them in my opinion.
@fallschirmjager: 2015 doesn't have any other comic book movies?

I think I meant 2016 when we get Cap 3, Star Wars and BatSupe.
But 2008 really has Iron Man and Dark Knight and the rest are good to mediocre. So far in 2014 we've had 4 really awesome films and some really good films.
Captain America: TWS
X-Men: DoFP
Guardians of the Galaxy
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Robocop
Amazing Spider-Man 2
etc

Oops. Missed F4. Thought that was 2016 for some reason.
I guess it depends if you count Star Wars. (I don't really). But I guess he did say nerd movies, which could includes lots of things.
But otherwise, no.
@night_thrasher: Star Wars is Christmas 2015.

2015 will have Star Wars though.

Yeah...either way we're winning. Unless of course the Batsoup is horrible!
@fallschirmjager: F4, Ant man, Avenger 2, and Star wars 7? That's a pretty nice line up.
1.) Captain America: TWS - Maybe I'm biased, but personally I feel this movie was not only an excellent sequel to Captain America: TFA, which was a great movie in its own right, but TWS also brought the MCU back to it's roots with a more serious tone and universe-shaking events. On top of that, the movie had some of the best hand-to-hand combat scenes I've ever seen in a comic book movie, had a nice balance between the action and humor, and overall gave every character a chance to shine at some point or another.
2.) X-Men: DoFP - This could arguable be the best Marvel movie this year, and I've even debated with myself in admitting this. This movie took upon itself a huge task, which not only included fixing major issues with the X-Movieverse's canon, but also had to do so in a way that made sense and established a new canon for future films to follow. The movie exceeding it's ultimate goal, fixing most of the major problems caused by movie like The Last Stand, setting up a whole new canon for the younger cast while also giving closure to the cast of the original X-Trilogy.
Despite having a huge cast, most of them were limited to supporting roles while the main cast simply consisted of five characters through which the movie's story was told. This ultimately was both good and bad, being good because it allowed those five characters to get proper focus and gave each one at least one point or another a chance to shine. The downside is that this also left some of the characters, mainly the future X-Men, with very little spotlight, with most being there either for fan service or simply because. To me, despite the movie being amazing, I felt that this keeps it at number two for me.
3.) Guardians of the Galaxy - Plain and simply, this movie is a fun ride that you won't be disappointed with. Similar to DoFP, this movie also had a huge task of bringing a complete new corner of the Marvel Universe into the MCU, along with that bringing a whole group of pretty much unknown characters with it. The movie is a great introduction to the more cosmic-side of the Marvel U, being able to set itself a part from the rest of the MCU and allowing it to stand on its own, yet still managing to capture what people love most about Marvel's movies.
4.) Amazing Spider-Man 2 - This movie was fun, it had some good moments and I feel it justified having the word "amazing" in its title, something I didn't feel the first movie did. The movie managed to capture the character of Spider-Man/Peter Parker, showcasing his classic charm and humor while also dealing with his personal struggle with responsibility. On the downside, the movie still falls a bit flat in certain areas and despite having some great moments, for me it was the least exciting Marvel movie of 2014.
Guardians of the Galaxy was my favorite, but Captain America: The Winter Soldier is by far the best.
Even tho I reallly enjoyed Guardians, I still give it to Cap2. Something about seeing Cap and Winter Soldier square off like that was just awesomely done.
Days of Future Past was really well done and restored my faith as far as where the XMEN films are going so that would be 3rd......
...Amazing Spidey 2 I still havent seen yet. I'm actually scared to watch it as I'm getting Spider-Man 3 vibe from it
All were awesome EXCEPT ASM 2 which I thought was really bad. I have to give it to X-Men Days of Future Past
