So I like Marvel and DC as much as the next guy, but i'm finding that I REALLY enjoy the indie stuff I read. Can anyone recommend me any indie comics that i'm currently not reading that I could check out and add to my pull? I don't mind if it is new or whether I have to get trades to catch up, but I would prefer ongoings rather than stuff that has finished. Here is what I am currently on;

Chew, The Massive, Saga, Fatale, The Walking Dead, American Vampire (not sure if considered indie but whatever).

I suppose my taste is semi-realistic dark stuff, although i'll try anything interesting.

Thanks.

Darkness & Witchblade of Top Cow Comics

the good thing right now is that they just had a Rebirth of their comics...so you can't truly miss out the 10 years they had given to their best characters yet.

I was told Vertigo is not fully creator owned, something about DC owning 50% and the creators owning the other 50%? Is this true?

@capelesscrusader: You must've enjoyed that 1 issue of The Massive a lot to have it in your top 5 already

I felt it was promising. I thought Mind MGMT #1 was better, but meh, opinions.

@Adnan: Mind MGMT is pretty good, but I love things that actually deal with relevant world problems. The Massive is about as topical as one can possibly get.

@capelesscrusader:Fair enough. I feel it's still at the stage where it could go either way, since #1 was mainly a character introduction and setting infodump. I don't really wanna judge it yet but I certainly have high hopes for it.

Current: Saga

of all time: Walking Dead

Although I love Vertigo, I don't consider it indie. It's more like DC Lite.

The Spider by Dynimate comics is really fantastic. Its only two issues in and the first one was seriously the best first issue I have ever read. I highly recommend it.

You already have several of the good ones. I would add Smoke and Mirrors, Dan the Unharmable, Trio, Epic Kill, Mind the Gap, Resident Alien, The Secret Service and Super Crooks.
