Infinity War. Its scale is bigger, it breaks more superhero conventions than any MCU film combined, and it's also far more emotional than the two other Avengers films.

Infinity War curbstomps for me. It was a phenomenal movie, my favorite in the MCU.

I really didn't like the first two Avengers movies that much. I thought they both turned out pretty average, though I'd rank Avengers over AoU mostly because of the magnitude of that first teamup.

Infinity War and The Avengers are both masterpieces. I'm gonna give the edge to IW.

Age of Ultron is forgettable.

Well, it's called Avengers Infinity War.

The Avengers.

Infinity War got saved from being a generic action movie by the soul stone arc. Those scenes had weight in it. Character build up and were a little slow allowing viewers to connect to the story in a more comprehensive way. Otherwise it would've been like Age of Ultron. Extremely fast paced with no room for character development.

The Avengers had all the good things which Infinity War didn't have.

@deltahuman: between the three films, The Avengers is the most generic one.

I had a chance to catch a screening of AoU (and Civil War) the other day at a Infinity War fan event in Singapore (RDJ, Benedict, Karen Gillan, and Joe Russo appeared too, but that's not important). Rewatching AoU again makes me like it more the second time. I used to hate this film and thought it was the worst Avengers film, but then (during the rewatch), I finally saw the theme of "monsters/inner demons" in the story, how each Avenger had a monstrous side to overcome, and overcoming that was the Avengers' way to prove to Ultron that human beings are not beyond saving. That made the story far better for me.

I still wouldn't rank it above either Avengers, but I don't hate it either.

@roguedewolff: You’re a better person than I. Doubt I’ll be forgiving that movie anytime soon.

@ready_4_madness:

In a sense yes. But Avengers is better executed in a sense that it doesn't feel forced. Parts of IW feel forced and too fast paced to comprehend coherently. Avengers had better all round character spotlight and development. IW feels like a movie about Thor Thanks and Gamora where the rest of the cast is doing a special appearance. The Avengers didn't have that problem.

The only Marvel flick that can compare to IW is TWS.

Avengers isn't even close to be as good as iw the only one who's close to that is either civil war or tws

@deltahuman: IW had to be that otherwise it would’ve been way too long, the film was exactly what it marketed itself to be. It has way too many great moments in comparison to the other two. I respect your opinion though.

The first one, the wow effect it had on me few movies did. Simple, basic even, but really well executed for what it was meant to be. None of the sequels came close to this effect. IW had a nice structure and idea, but eventually wasn't all that well executed.
