Best: Heath Ledger - a freshly inventive take on the character and one of the most iconic supervillain portrayals. He really took the role of the Joker and made it his own.
RDJ's Iron Man gets a shoutout though. Even though he had a little more snark than 616 Tony, it's definitely one of the most accessible takes on the character and a large factor in the trilogy's success. Then there's also Ron Perlman as Hellboy, who while was more humorous than his comic counterpart, was still a fun romping bad@ss. Shoutouts to Sir Ian McKellen as Magneto and Patrick Stewart as Professor X too.
Another one that springs to mind is Christopher Reeve - who played the perfect duality of Superman and Clark Kent. I also enjoyed Chris Evans' Captain America, who completely nailed the role of Cap as the good guy with a moral compass. This was a Cap who was infinitely likeable as a lead. I also liked Jackman's Wolverine, no doubt, but the man was too tall! Oh, and Fassbender was superb, as was McAvoy.
Worst: Nicholas Cage as Ghost Rider. I couldn't take the dude seriously at all. It ranged from taking itself too seriously to not taking itself seriously at all. I just...dude was hilarious and totally unfitting for the role. And I'd like to erase the memory of Deadpool from my mind.
