Best and Worst CGI in the MCU films
Best:
-Doctor Strange’s psychedelic city bending effects, the dark dimension, his first “trip”... Basically the whole movie
-Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2, especially the space locations, Egos planet, Ego regenerating himself, Groot and Rocket, and that opening scene with dancing baby groot
-Thor: Ragnarok: Hela vs Valkyrie flashback is probably the most beautifully shot sequence in any MCU movie tbh, and Hulk looks incredible in this film.
-Infinity War: Thanos, Titan, Ebony Maw, space locations
-Iron Man: The first Iron Man has nearly perfect visual effects. Nothing is overblown, and everything seems 100% real. Captain America: The Winter Solider also did the same thing.
-Thor: The Dark World did not do much right, but it did do the visual effects right. No joke, it’s one of the best looking MCU movies (VFX wise, it still has bland color grading) but the visuals were nearly perfect.
Worst:
-Incredible Hulk end fight. Still is entertaining, looks a little fake
-Captain America: TFA. When the laser guns are shooting everywhere and people disintegrate, it looks fake.
-Spider-Man: Homecoming. Nothing too bad, spidey jumping around just looked too cartoonish sometimes
-Thor: Ragnarok. It’s funny because Ragnarok showcases some of the MCUs best visual effects and worst. The norway scene was an obvious green screen. Very, very obvious.
-Black Panther. Obvious reasons
@god_above: What about CGI Tarkin and CGI Leia?
Worst might be Civil War's airport scene. The background and Iron Man's helmet looked so wonky.
Best has to be Doctor Strange.
Best is Infinity War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy (Volume 1 and 2) and Winter Soldier (mainly because of how little there is compared to other MCU films). Coincidentally some of the best MCU films. Could've also mentioned Thor: The Dark World, but that film was subpar so I excluded it.
Worst is Black Panther, released this year and (in some areas) has worse visuals than a film from a decade before (The Incredible Hulk).
Best Infinity War. Thanos looked realistic, which was the most important thing to the MCU to get right. Thor's lightning scene was epic. The rest of the CGI was very polished.
Worst was Black Panther. The scene where they were falling and trading blows defied the laws of physics, and so you can tell right away it was CGI just by the movement alone. Then the scene when Killmonger throws Panther, and he swings around the pillar? Again, physics defying CGI. It felt like watching a playstation 2 game animation rather than live action.
Infinity war has the best CGI with Thanos.
Black Panther had the worst. Not sure what happened there...
Best Infinity War
Worst Black Panther
Best: Doctor Strange and Infinity War.
Worst: Black Panther had some truly horrific PS1 level CGI shots.
Best: Between Ragnarok & Infinity War.
Worst: Black Panther is one of my favorite MCU movies, but it's CGI was terrible. Specifically the Rhinos & the final duel between Erik/N'Jadaka & T'Challa.
Nothing In History Can Beat This Nothing!!
I agree that this easily takes the cake haha
Best - Dr Strange, GOTG 1 & 2, Thor 2 & 3, Captain America TWS, Infinity War.
Worst - TIH, Black Panther, Avengers Age of Ultron (Hulk to me looked ugly at times and some of the Iron Legion/Ultron bots looked horrible especially in movement. There was one scene where I think one took Loki’s sceptre and it just looked horrible).
@mr_shazam0920: Even Strange looked rough at parts.
@tonymartial: I just rewatched the movie last night again. The movie looks great in 4K.
I think Black Panther gets too much of a bad rep. The cgi was only bad towards the end
True but it was really bad at points. And it should have been one of the best since it is one of the newest movies and it didn't have any horrible re-shoot problems like JL.

I swear I can't see the problem.

I only seen the drop in quality in the final battle, examples of inferior cgi in other parts? Cgi also shouldn't break a movie for anyone, especially if you play video games.

I'm sorry I misphrased that. When I said it was really bad at points I mean it was really bad at points in the final battle. Before then the CG was fine.
And I agree it shouldn't and doesn't break the movie for me. I definitely enjoyed the movie. I'm just saying the CG was really bad at the end and it shouldn't have been.
