@nickzambuto: Sign me up, though my schedule is a bit hectic lately, so I can't guarantee I'll be able to be as elaborate as everyone else.
BATTLES WRITING TOURNAMENT - Sign Ups
@lubub55: Love to have ya. Get to work and send me your piece in one week.
@zetsumoto: Terrific, always good to have another player.
Oh dang! Alright. I never got told whether or not this was still happening so I never got around to writing mine. I'll see what I can do. A week should be sufficient.
@the_hajduk: Just PM'd you my story.
@the_hajduk: Just PM'd you my story.
I did too
@the_hajduk: And sent
@the_hajduk: When is the deadline?
@metaljimmor: @conner_wolf: Excellent!
@the_hajduk: When is the deadline?
Right now bitch.
Naw, really, I don't know. I'm not being super strict on this. A deadline is not conductive to the creative process. Have you at least started something?
@the_hajduk: You said before you'll be posting the stories to the board, does that mean this will be publicly voted? Cause I for one have an issue with democratic voting when most of ComicVine is bias and will vote for the story in which their favorite character wins.

How would you suggest we handle the voting?
@the_hajduk: Offer a position for judges, and these judges need to be willing to write out why they vote for who they desire. Such as "It was the most well-written" or "It had me wishing for more" and such.
If you do post them publicly, you can do something similar, ask people exactly for, essentially, a review of the story instead of just dropping votes.
I may also recommend a 'tiered voting' system: Everyone gets three votes that they can distribute amongst different stories, or if they really like one story, they can give one story multiple votes. This way if one person has a story that a lot of like-minded people thinks is almost as good as another, but not quite as good, they don't get screwed out of votes in favor of say, another story far less people thought was good, but far more people were willing to vote that as their favorite.

I was actually going for a tournament style with this just being the first round. Stories would go against each other one on one, and that would reduce the competitors down to four for the next round. Then the round after that would be the final two. I agree with you, a small review is necessary for votes to be considered. At the voting stage, if you feel like somebody is getting screwed or a voter is being biased, just PM me, and we'll figure it out.
I have to disagree with the idea of everyone having multiple votes. I don't like the idea of stacking votes. Imagine if only four people voted on a round, and three different people all voted for one story, but one guy just gave all three of his votes to the opposition. That makes it a tie, even though a lot more people chose the other one.
@the_hajduk: I only just got back from Croatia today, so I haven't really been able to start writing yet.

Just hop to it.
@the_hajduk: That's a good point, it would depend on exactly how many voters there are, a small amount of voters would make it much less viable. I didn't think of that.
And I think your conclusion on the review system is fair.
My grammar is horrible, But I can't say no to this!
Count me in!
Geez, is it too late to join this?
This. Also, do the stories have to be serious or can I joke around?
@the_hajduk: Is this still going or not?
@the_hajduk: hey sorry but you can drop me from this. I have too many matches I’m behind on and school as well.
@the_hajduk: can you post the stories thst have been submitted
@asgardianbrony: i have such high hopes for this
@the_hajduk: so whats the deal here?
