There's something wrong with Dark Knights Rises. I don't know exactly what it is, but it can be difficult to get through, parts of it leave a bad taste in your mouth. Didn't really like Talia's portrayal, Matthew Modine wasn't good and completely unnecessary. Joseph Gordon-Levitt's purpose in the movie was okay, but the whole learning Batman thing was weird. Batman breaking up with Alfred didn't work for me the way they probably felt it should. And Bane ended up being a glorified thug to Talia, who again didn't really click.
Plus, when Batman fights henchman, awesome. When Batman fights the joker or Two-Face or even brings kryptonite to fight Superman, it works. But Batman vs a Nuclear bomb? Why? Just.... why?
I found Rises was a lil too long. I didn't really care for Talia's climbing out the well/twist backstory for instance. I wanted to see her more fleshed out in current events as opposed to an 'a-ha' villain mastermind reveal. Anyway it was good but not amongst Nolan's best work.
Endgame is superior to me.
