AVATAR (TLA/LOK) : VILLAIN POWER RANKING TOURNAMENT

2 forms (Pre and Post fusion Unalaq), but no Dark Avatar State.

I would say separate the two forms and restrict the dark avatar state just like we would restrict the avatar state for avatars. We don’t really have feats for DAS but we can extrapolate that it would give him an easy win in this tourney.

Unalaq never went AS except for when he ripped out Raava from Korra. Stop stating that he should be restricted since he literally have no other feats in the DAS than that.

Besides this time:

Name one instance other than this and what comes after that when he was in the AS.. If you can't. Stop saying that he should be restricted..

So we are not ranking them as overall threats, with varying levels of competence and skill sets or resources, but strictly from a direct combative standpoint? Or is that up to each voter to decide?

Tbh, I don't really care who wins this round.

Considering that these rankings have always included hype, we don't only need his feats to make assumptions of the power of the DAS. If this is the Vaatu version of the Raava avatar state, it is most likely a powerful amp seeing as how powerful the Avatar state/Raava amp is. I think it is fair to want to keep it out just so we can rank him without a hype amp. We have always kept the AS amp out when an avatar is included idk why wouldn't do so now.

It's more of people claiming that he was in the AS in his fight with Korra. And people seem to not be able to make any actual arguments in favor of him being in the AS when fighting Korra.

We know from the one time he was in the AS that he matched AS Korra in season 2 in power and skill.

He became the Dark Avatar when he fused with Vaatu, which would be considered Post-Fusion. Pre-Fusion was before he fused with Vaatu. AS Unalaq would scale to AS Korra. Though AS amps are not allowed in this. That wouldn't exclude his entire fight with Korra until the very last moment when he ripped Raava out of Korra.

And the AS made him match an AS amped Korra while him without it matched Korra who had mastered all but Airbending at the time. Then you also have the fact that he matched some attack from an AS Korra..

You might be wondering how we know she was in the AS here. Well..

He did season 2 Korra. EoS Korra is the best bender we have seen.

Though he literally won the fight in the end against Korra. Though had he not pulled out Raava, I would say Korra would have beaten him.

But considering that he matched a fully realized Avatar after he fused with Vaatu say something about the power up you get from being the Avatar.

PSA, I answer your questions:

1.) Unalaq issue: Majority picked the option of having Unalaq's first two forms but it wasnt decisive, I've thought about this a lot and I think having pre fusion Unalaq (his best normal form before the subtle and then massive amp he got after fusion ) is the best solution to this. Now I know they're some people who think he didn't get amped after fusion until he used the AS and if anyone here thinks so, they could just use thier own base version of him instead.

2.) How to Rank:The Rankings have always been about a character's standing in comparison to the people they are grouped with just like how the earthbender ranking was about an earthbender's standing in comparison to other earthbenders on the list, or like how team Avatar ranking was about a member's standing in comparison to the other members on the list. I've talked about this before. Whichever way one sees fit to get to that point is up to them as long as they're comparing the characters involved to the other characters on the list. This Villain ranking is the comparison of a villain to other ones.

3.) Terms:One can disagree with and oppose what is being said but please let's be mindful of how we address other users when replying to or having a conversation with them.

Just realized the Lieutenant is here. Not sure if I want to vote him, Zhao or Long Feng out. For now, voting out Long Feng.

If it's Long Feng and the Dai Li, then this is an easier pick. Admiral Zhao.

Amon's lieutenant I guess. Poor bastard was so insignificant he never even got a name.

Quick question, do you consider long feng to be as skilled as a single dai li agent?🤔. I personally have always seen him as an equivalent to one Dai Li agent.

I don't remember much from Long Feng. Took him to be one of those "brains over brawn" type guys. Maybe he's better than a single Dai Li agent, but those guys were powerful fodders, so I'm not sure if he's even better than one.

I would go Long Feng unless it's with the Dai Li (I would honestly say that a Dai Li agent is better than Long Feng).

Long Feng isn't as good as Zhao. Long Feng should out.

@aystarr: I kind of just consider the Dai Li as part of Long Feng's power personally. I don't think I'm going to rank them from a sheer 1 on 1 combat standpoint, since we're allowed to interpret the ranking in our own way. That's not how the villains worked in the series. Amon's lieutenant would beat Zhao in a fight, but he's memes tier next to the threat level a lot of these characters brought to the table with their political power, influence, tactical ability and resources.

I think the Lieui deserves respect. Voting Feng.

I wish that we would have gotten some news by now but unfortunately Paramount and DarkHorse have given us nothing to work with. I know the Suki comic is coming soon but the expectations are pretty low.

Long Feng should be out

Tbh if Long Feng is the equivalent of a single Dai Li agent, or better (which I think is a fair assumption considering he is the leader of their organization and an earthbender to boot), I don't think he should go yet. The Dai Li's precise and quick style of earthbending, I feel, would be a good counter to Zhao, given small rocks should go through flames (cf. Kelsang vs. Jianzhu), and Long Feng has proven quick enough to tag Jet before he can react and hit him hard enough to cause lethal internal injury.

If anyone should go, it's Zhao. He's wont to just mindlessly spam attacks and pursue his target. Even though he does occasionally have some impressive scale and speed, I don't think it'd be enough to consistently take down the Lieutenant who has a fire-proof combat suit and has been able to evade Korra for a time. If he gets close to Zhao, which he has a good shot of accomplishing, it's over.

So my vote goes against Zhao.
