Arrow set for a final season of only 10 episodes

Stephen Amell just tweeted that there is one final season of Arrow and it will only have ten episodes, and he was basically saying goodbye to the character.

Do you think this seals his fate for the COIE crossover?

Damn it's sad to see it end but I believe it's the right time. Hopefully the give him a proper end to his story.

I think it's very likely.

Better to go out on a high note than have people saying it went on for far too long and overstayed its welcome like Smallville. There's absolutely nothing wrong with a series ending when it's supposed to vs. being canceled (it's the same reason I question why people demand Disney bring back Gravity Falls when it told the story it wanted to tell).

one of the shows creators said thats what they wanted, but they got stuck with 20+ episodes a season forcing them to use filler

First superhero TV show that I ever watched and the only DCTV show that I continue to watch to this day. Gave up on Flash, Supergirl and LoT a long time ago. Never even started Black Lightning. Yes, the show has had it's ups and downs over the years, even been pretty unwatchable sometimes, and don't even get me started on the abysmal fight choreography, which BTW has improved a LOT this season, I have nothing but utmost respect for Amell for how he has carried the show for 7 yrs and how he has evolved as an actor himself. I think it's time for him to step up. Hope to see more from him in the future.

In other news, Clark Gregg has also confirmed in a recent interview that season 7 is going to be the final season of AoS. I think this has more to do with the "Disney+" thing than anything else. It's sad that the show never got the chance to fully integrate with the bigger MCU as it had so much potential. I'd have loved to see the agents share the same screen space with the big boys, would've been so much fun. Nevertheless, it was a great run and I'll miss the agents. Hope to see more from the cast in the future, especially Brett Dalton and Chloe Bennet. Fitz was awesome in "Overlord". If you haven't seen it, do it NOW. Really enjoyed the movie.

With both Arrow and AoS coming to their respective ends, this is the end of an era.

Gonna go down as one of the best CB shows. Also, would work well towards confirming my theory from months ago.

Knew that was coming, but still sucks. Also confirms that Oliver is definitely dying in Crisis.

I'm still holding out hope that they'll get renewed on Disney+.

@bleidd: I think the current rumor is hulu picking them up. Disney+ I think is going to be more geared for shows with similar tones to the movies.

I might write a blog on this tbh because I find S5 to be one of the most overrated Superhero shows. I'll tag you if I decide to write it.

Damn, and just a couple of days after Clark Gregg revealed that AoS is ending with S7. But I think for both of these shows it may be the right time. Even though I'm sad they're ending, I don't want them to overstay their welcome.

It's also important to note that Arrow wasn't cancelled - Stephen Amell and the showrunners agreed that now was the time to end it, which gives me hope for a really great ending. I'm excited to see what they can do with a shorter season knowing that it's their last. And, of course, Crisis on Infinite Earths is probably the single most epic way to end any DCTV show.

Regardless of your opinion on the show, I think we can all agree that it was game-changing. 8 seasons, three live-actions spinoffs, two animated ones and bringing three existing live-action shows into this universe. And it's going to end with an adaptation of Crisis on Infinite Earths. Looking back at the premiere, this show ending with COIE featuring Flash/Supergirl/Superman/Batwoman/Martian Manhunter etc would have seemed utterly ridiculous. It changed the landscape for what a comic book TV universe could look like, and with the extensive universe that the show spawned I'm sure that its legacy will extend for many years to come.
