I watched the first 11 episodes and i wasn't into it, but then i decided to catch up to last week's episode and im actually enjoying it a lot. what are your thoughts on the show??
Are you watching black clover??
@yassassin: that's what i thought at first but when i binged watched the latest 30 episodes i got different vibes.
It’s better than Fairy Tail so there’s that.
Also OP3>>>>>>>>>>>all other OP of that show.
Get down
We all let you know this time
Can you bring me down
Back up, gets far of the sky, BLACK ROVERERERERRRRRR
(screams in Japanese head banging)
I'll have to give it another go one day, but the main character's voice actor took me out of it. I know he was likely directed to do so, but him screaming damn near every word grates on the nerves real quick.
@thatduderox: it gets less cringe the longer the show goes on, I hated it first ten episodes and almost stopped watching but I don’t even notice it anymore.
I've been watching it on Toonami, though I missed a couple episodes. Still early into it and while it's a painfully generic shonen anime the characters have enough little quirks to keep me amused. I suppose it helps that I've been approaching it like a comedy. I don't know if I'd say "it's so bad it's good", but it's at the least entertaining.
For example, I like that Asta, being a loud mouthed generic shonen protagonist, is actually treated like an insane person by the rest of the world. Not in the "Oh, he's just eccentric" or "what a loudmouth" sort of way like with Naruto, but in a "Do you have a legitimate mental illness?" sort of way. One example of that was when Asta was screaming about how he has NO MAGIC POWER AHAHAHAHAHA! And one of the other characters responds with "Why are you proud of that?!"
I also like that the protagonist and his rivals are actually friends and don't actively hate one another. And not the "We were antagonistic toward one another but learned to like each other" kind of friendship. They legitimately seem to respect and like one another and their rivalry is entirely friendly from the start.
I dunno, I just like these little details even if the anime is a sea of generic shonen tropes otherwise.
@skrskr: ikr?? I stopped at episode 11, but I was so bored out of my mind since my exams ended and there were no good animes out I just watched it and I actually enjoyed it
@emanresu_20: what episode did you stop watching?
After episode 10 I think. At that point it just seemed like a generic Magic based anime. Then again I was never a fan of magic based anime to begin with. I prefer things like HxH where there abilities can be explained by there universes science.
@emanresu_20: I also stopped on episode 11 but then after episode 39 came out I caught up and I'm actually enjoying it, you should give it another try from where you stopped watching
