Are you looking for anime, which is the greatest anime in my list in your opinion?

One-Punch Man got my vote. It's such a riot. Assassination Classroom is also pretty great too.

I don't consider myself Die Hard anime fan and anime is just hobby for me but is Legend of the Galactic Heroes that good.

looking by the poster this look like space adventure and this type of thing really don't appeal me plus animation don't look that great.

Dbz is original and every anime is somewhat copy of dbz and naruto is bad rip-off of hunter x hunter and dbz

The anime is 30 years old. Of course the animation has aged.

To make a simple comparison, LotGH is Game of Thrones in space. From the incredible political side, to the vast number of characters. The characters are unparalleled among any anime, most of the supporting characters are better developed than most protagonists today. Hell, the anime literally features DUAL protagonists for practically the entire duration and trust me, NEITHER one feels like they needed more time.

I don't know why more people haven't seen it. I only watched it last year for the first time and its completely obliterated any attempt of mine to watch any new anime. All of it seems like complete shit in comparison. Perhaps because its based on actually novels and not manga, which is probably why there is so much substance and lack of style.

Watch a few episodes and be amazed.

1. One piece: it is already in my list.
2. Assassination classroom: i have mix feeling for this anime.
3. Akira: sorry I completely forgot about it, my bad.
4. detective conan: this anime fall in Doraemon and Ninja boy rantaro category.
5. Captain Tsubasa: I really don't like spots anime unless it have serious action or have super good animation.

Not a huge fan, but HunterXHunter isn't bad. I just find Gon kind of meh for the most part.

Dragon Ball is always fun.

If I had to pick one though, Trigun tops this list for me.

wow your daughter must be something most of the girls don't like Hellsing types anime and i have already seen black butler, season 2 was pretty bad this is my opinion so don't take this seriously.

I like a lot of those animes but i think it is hard to choose between so many genres. For example i love DB, HxH and OP as shounen but for thriller i like Monster and Death Note. Horror Hellsing or Baccano. Si-Fi FMA or Steins;Gate so it is really hard to pick one of them. And may i ask why there is no YuYu or Mirai Nikki ? Or Toriko? Or Evangelion?

@superproherohunter: i chose Monster. As for me i love all of those more or less but Monster provided something that i never would thought of for an anime. It was the most adult and most realistic anime for a genre like mystery and suspence. i think the only anime more adult and realistic is Rainbow.

complete the series and your opinion will 110% change, you will become fanboy.

Dragon Ball.....the Original Dragon ball (not Z) is the best.

Z was good, but it filled up with too many characters (likely an attempt to try and keep people interested) with no personality or they had personality and were reduced to side/cameo roles. (I gave up entirely on DBZ after the cell games)

so as i see it, for a top five, id say: Dragonball--Cowboy Bebop--Trigun/FMA (truly can't decide)--Hellsing--AoT (which may move up considering it still has more to give)

Also, what the heck man!?!?! no Ghost in the Shell? SHAME!!

sorry to disappoint you but i am not Hardcore anime fanboy, i have not seen many old school anime, i mostly watch anime which are rated higher than 8.5 on imdb because anime below 8.5 are mostly disappointing and i don't like to be disappointed.

you see my standards are very high and i like perfection this is the reason i like db over dbz .

list of my most disappointing anime i have ever seen.

1) soul eater (score from IMDb 8)

2) Durarara!! (score from IMDb 8.1)

3) darker than black (score from IMDb 8)

4) black butler (score from IMDb 8)

5) Psycho-Pass (score from IMDb 8.3)

6) bleach (score from IMDb 8.2)

7) Naruto Shippūden (score from IMDb 8.6)

8) fairy tail (score from IMDb 8.2)

lol you aren't disappointing anybody friend, i was just having a bit of fun about GitS. I'm also (imo) pretty picky about anime that i consider good; the only one on your list of disappointments i have honestly even watched is Naruto and it was; at best....fair.

We are in agreement that DB>DBZ. (Z wasn't bad but it didn't surpass it's predecessor and has steadily declined in quality as it went on.)

Also with regards to older animes, trigun/DB/cowboy bebop are all pretty darn old...

I don't generally rely on internet reviews TBH. i have a couple friends that like anime so i adhere to their suggestions mostly. It does limits the amount im exposed to/hear about but I trust their tastes/likes over a critics who i know nothing about. BTW from what im seeing GitS ranked higher than any of those ratings in your disappointment list

I highly recommend Ghost in the Shell & stand alone complex (it's part of the same franchise) if you enjoyed things like the matrix trilogy. That series (GitS) after all was where the matrix got all it's ideas from.

Actually Scarlet Johansson is staring in a new GitS movie that's supposed to be released sometime in 2017. (The first couple movies are mid-90's, and there's one that came out in early 00's iirc.)

EDIT: i suggest the first, but they are all are good. (the tachikomas are the only thing that may bug you. But they are only in Stand Alone Complex...) then again some people love the tachikomas...ill admit, they are pretty bad ass, they just sound funny

@vashtanerada88: Re zero is a good new anime I heavily recommended watching it.

Im willing to give most things a try. I disliked One Piece at first but a friend insisted that i give it a try and admittedly, it grew on me.. (well Zoro & Robin mainly; personally they could kill off sanji and i wouldn't be the least bit phased)

what kind of anime is Re Zero?

@vashtanerada88: It's a drama anime it's kinda like Erased it has the same premise of using Time travel, but it's executed very while also having a lot of interesting characters and good character development. Almost every episode is filled with tension and a lot of things are shrouded in mystery, and if you like romance, there is a good bit of that too.

Edit: You can watch it on Crunchyroll and there are currently 18 episodes
