Are the MCU's super-soldiers relatively overpowered?
@mister_surreal: When did they say anything about Peak Human status?
@kgb725: I said sueperhuman.
@mister_surreal: I know. They never said anything about peak human so what's wrong with them being superhuman ? Especially when comic versions are much stronger
Yes, they relatively are. MCU's super soldiers are clearly super-powered (beyond human capacities) whereas the 616 versions are merely peak human. Concept is very important to serious people.
It's just that over a 75 years+ publication period and a myriad of authors across different comic ages, some excess are bound to happen. Consistancy is more important than feats.
No not really, relative to whom are they overpowered?
Compared to everyone else
@ganon15: I don’t think so, even the helicopter feat which gets flack for being too outrageous was explained by the Russos as Cap being under adrenaline and not being able to replicate that feat under normal levels, IIRC they likened it to a mother lifting a car slightly to free their child.
They can still be killed from making a simple mistake like not paying attention and getting shot.
They have pretty great physical strength and blunt durability, but given everything else they don’t seem to have particularly high reaction speed, and are clearly able to be held off by properly trained humans. Black Widow would definitely give Cap a run for his money, as would a character like Daredevil. They aren’t overpowered
@kgb725: MCU Cap has feats just as good if not better than 616 Cap in terms of strength and durability.
Some of their feats are overblown by the fans. Overall though, I'm cool with their portrayal.
Yes, they are straight up superhuman.
Dude, "Supersoldiers". Pretty self-explenatory. They're supposed to be superhuman, if only low level.
@the_wspanialy: They are overpowered compared to the comic book versions.
