Are MCU characters generally overestimated in battles?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
This is really subjective tbh I think all characters comic or movie get both over and underestimated.
Flash in the comics and superman in the movies are two of the worst imo though for speed blitz posts it’s boring tbh.
Depends on the character.
Thor,thanos, hela, kurse etc yes.
but there are alot of underestimated ones.
Hulk, strange, wanda, iron man, ego and alot of others.
So in general its about 50/50. I guess it depends on the character and who debates.
Some people think MCU Cap is superior to 616.
Barring a few people, the general opinion is that MCU has better lifting than 616. And that's it.
No. Just specific ones. Most street levellers. High tiers are actually pretty underrated by majority.
You're the last person who would say something like that. XD

Of course every character is highballed by some people. But in general, they are lowballed.
@rbt: Anecdotally, I just don't often see you defending MCU high tiers

I do when they have better feats.
I mean, I am not going to side with IW Thor against JL Superman in a fight. Thor obviously loses that.
But if you asked who hits harder, I'm gonna side with Thor. Just look at the entire Zod vs Thanos striking thread. Its basically me vs half a dozen rabid DCEU fans.
The general consensus in this forum is that Thanos and Zod are almost equals in strength.
I think I've said enough.
Depends on the characters and who's debating.
There are Thor fans who think he can solo the DCEU, then there are those who think he loses to Wonder Woman.
There are Cap fans who think he can put up a fight against Aquaman, then there are those who think he loses to CW Oliver.
Then there are characters who are almost always underrated like Hulk, Black Widow, Gamora.
So like I said, it depends.

LMAO what the hell..
What I don't get is, does gaining weight really impact your powers so much? I mean Thor w/ Stormbreaker casually wrecked Thanos, yet fat Thor with Mjolnir and Stormbreaker w/ an upgraded Tony and Steve backing him gets wrecked because he's fat?
That's because Thor ambushed him in IW. Thanos would have treated Thor the same way had they fought like they did in Endgame.
It’s pretty simple. Khabib is the UFC lightweight champion of the world. Let’s say he took 5 years off, didn’t train a single day, and did nothing but drink and eat. Upon his return, would he still be able to perform at the same level?

Thor's not human. Five years is almost nothing next to his 1,500 so I don't think he got rusty.
Obviously 5 years affects him if he got so out of shape. I’m not understanding why people are going out of their minds for this. Since when does fat and out of shape = peak physical condition? He was drinking and eating himself to death and people who want to lowball him want to say nothing changed.

Because the story never makes it a point that his combat abilities are less now. Therefore any theory that he was weakened needs to be proven. The movie seemed to be setting The Avengers up for their biggest battle against an immovable foe. Thor's compatriots were clearly at their peak. Tony had the Mk 85 and Cap had the hammer. So it seems like Thor would also be operating at his peak just to even stand a chance with Thanos.
Thor is a god so body fat does not impact him. Odin is fat and stronger then ever.
