"In early cuts, the movie's opening detailed June Moon's posession by Enchantress in real tome. Reshoots reshuffled the scene to be later in the movie in flashback form in favour of a new opening centered on Deadshot."

"Deadshot in the prison cell, watching the rain fall and thinking about his daughter."

"El Diablo observing the flame of a lit match, before putting it out due to his vow to no longer use his powers."

"El Diablo being escorted to a training center by being placed in a tube that fills with water to quel his flames, and then unceremoniously dropped onto the ground."

"Early interviews showed Captain Boomerang's racism and sexism, but the movie is light on examples of such behaviour, which have apparently been deleted. Most of them were reportedly directed at Katana, to whom Boomerang is attracted to."

"Early reports indicated more backstory for Killer Croc, revealing that he entire life as a social outcast due to his physical appearancr and has convinced himself that he is beautiful in his own way. Croc crossed paths with Batman while working as muscle-for-hire for numerous Gotham's crime bosses, while secretly planning to take over one day. There were also scenes displaying his affinity for making sculptures out of discarded materials. Aside from jokes about Croc viewing himself as 'beautiful,' one of these were retained in the final cut."

"Also deleted was a scene where he becomes sick at the helicopter escort to Midway City, throws up half-digested pieces of goat, and then eats them again, disgusting the nearby Navy Seals."

"Early cuts reportedly included a passing reference to Slipknot being serial rapist, likely to further paint him as unsympathetic to the audience ahead of his own death."

"More scenes of Rick Flag and June Moon's romantic relationship, including him reading the files of the Suicide Squad recruits after Waller delivers them to him."

"Another scene where Flag and Moon are out on a date."

"Extended scene of Joker interrogating Captain Griggs, including the line, "I can't wait to show you my toys," which was in every trailer, but was removed from the movie."

"Joker and his men escaping after shooting up a restaurant. Harley, who is already affiliated with the Joker, follows them on a motorcycle and intercepts their car. Joker bangs his head against the glass in frustration."

"Joker and Harley then get into a fight, which ends with Harley pointing a gun at Joker's head. Joker sweet-talks Harley into lowering the gun, charming her, then backhands her across the face. Afterwards he sweet-talks her again and they kiss."

"Extended Ace Chemicals scene where Harley jumps into the chemicals. More bits of dialogue from Joker."

"Extended Batmobile chase scene with more interaction between Joker and Harley. One of the examples, presented in all the trailers, is the Joker punching the roof of his car."

"Harley using her baseball bat as a mock gun to play shoot at invisible foes."

"Extended scene of Joker breaking into the nanobomb manufacture facility to arrange for Harley's neck-bomb to be disabled."

"More interactions between Harley and Boomerang. Early cuts apparently included her really disliking him despite growing affectionate to all the other members of the squad."

"Extended bar scene with Harley taking everyone's orders. Deadshot calls for a shot, Katana wants whiskey, Croc and Boomerang settle for beer, Harley asks Diablo wants and he prefers water which she jokes, "is a good idea." The scene was featured in the trailers, but in the movie it cuts directly to Deadshot's speech about them all almost pulling the mission off."

"Removed several scenes with the Joker to repaint his relationship with Harley as more loving rather than abusive."

"Joker and Harley get into an argument after he rescues her in the hijacked helicopter. In early cuts he reportedly pushes her out to kill her, then the helicopter gets shot down. This was apparently reworked into the helicopter getting shot down first and Joker pushing her out to save her."

"Joker returns during the final battle in the subway station, face half-burnt from the helicopter crash, which apparently leads to a brief altercation with the Squad. He calls for Harley to escape with him but she refuses for once in order to help her friends, and the Joker escapes after throwing a live grenade at the group to cover his own escape."

Found this on Reddit. Still waiting for it to be sourced but if this is the case, I just dislike the movie even more now.

dear god do I hope they make this available to be in a dvd version. I know all signs are pointing to them not doing that but still.. also, I still enjoyed the movie enough to not hate it. it was fun enough to hope it gets a sequel.

Oh man that's a damn shame. If there is no extended cut of the film I will be unhappy. It'll be AoU all over again which is a good film but you know it could have been even better with a director's cut.

Can we make a petition for a director's cut? That seems much more reasonable then shutting down rotten tomatoes.

LOL, indeed. Unfortunately, Ayer shut down the prospect of a director's cut. I hope he's just saying that for PR's sake and that we'll eventually get a UC.

@theamazingspidey: well now I know why you said they didn't really have a team moment in your review. How could they cut down the bar scene that they showed in the trailer? How could they cut out character development? I havent even seen the movie yet and now I'm mad.

To be fair it's still a decent scene in another way. But I would've much preferred if they retained what we saw in the trailers :(

I think Ayer is just loyal and/or he believes the movie will pick up after the first weekend.

@mfundroid: I guess this makes your joke about the DC Extended Cut Universe all the more accurate. At least I think you were the one who made that joke on the other Suicide Squad thread.

I ain't even mad here since Suicide Squad doesn't ruin my favourite heroes so I can't be as scathing towards it as I am on Zack's colossal trainwrecks of DC films. It's just both ironic and sort of disheartening at this point to see every DC movie meet with constant critical negativity, fan wars on the opposite ends of the like-dislike spectrum and dropping down box office figures. Even if this doesn't signal the death knell of the DCEU, it sure doesn't paint a pretty picture for the future of what WB wanted to be their next cash cow. Every movie has been like finding a gold ore vein but each time a rock slide comes crashing down on top of it.

To be honest, I am not going to believe any Viner or critic out there for this movie until I see it. I recently watched an Angry Joe spoiler free review of the movie and I must say, it got me excited. I have always had an almost identical taste as Joe and if he, and all of his friends, like this movie I still have hope for it. The problem is that I am almost two weeks away from watching it so I will have to wait before jumping on the bandwagon or starting a counter group for the movie.

Damn why in the hell they do a movie about the bad guys if they are not going to show why are they the bad guys. What bothers me the most about this, is that they decided to take away things that indicated that the Joker was abusive towards Harley.

They really did cut A LOT of Joker scenes. Wow.

Also, SMH at the Enchantress/June and Flag scenes being cut. That could've added some depth that the character desperately needed and fleshed the relationship between Flag and June more.

All of those would've made it much better. I mean I enjoyed regardless, but this is what was needed. Most of this stuff was in trailers also, which makes me mad

So mostly Joker scene being cut? No wonder no one was able to make up the mind about his performance.

I sure hope there's director's cut for SS because I felt some scenes were chopped off, just like BvS: Dawn of Justice. I'm glad the director's cut made that movie better in second viewing.

An overwhelming majority of them aren't (why do you do this to me, WB? Why?!) The Extended Cut is only 11 minutes longer. Here are all the differences in the Extended Edition.

Thanks.

Well that sucks. I was expecting like 20 minutes more. That's a disappointment. Welp, I'm gonna watch it no matter what anyways.

Yeah. Especially since the cut for DoJ was pretty ultimate. The SS: Extended Edition was only a slight improvement over the original film.

You've seen the first Suicide Squad? What did you think?

Wow. You're in for a treat of a travesty, LOLOL.

Just kidding, mate. I'm actually envious you at least get to experience the film through the Extended Cut first. The problem with watching an Extended Cut after you watched the original is, no matter how good the extended scenes are, the bell cannot be unrung. You, on the other hand, get to experience the extended shit with the rest of the movie how it was intended. So, have fun!

Have you at least seen BvS?

Hehe. Just let the jealousy flow. You'll feel much better.

That sounds nice.

I was able to watch the first 16-20 minutes of the film. So far so good. I just hated that they killed off Jimmy Olsen without some character development. He seemed like a character I'd love.

I did laugh seeing Maggie and Negan (TWD characters) being Batman's parents. In The Walking Dead, Negan kills Maggies husband. Somehow they ended up with each other afterwards. lol

Yeah, it's a real shame that that's Zack Snyder's idea of "having fun with the character." If you're gonna watch the movie, I recommend nothing other than the Ultimate Edition.

Thanks for spoiling The Walking Dead! ? You're lucky I forgot the spoiler already. Or else I would've sent Negan to chop your head off!

Several of the scenes don't sound like they were needed at all (the Slipknot serial rapist one as an example). Some of them though (like the Joker nano bomb heist extension) would be awesome additions.

The Joker / Harley scenes would have made the film better, honestly. The movie didn't emphasize the abusive nature of their relationship, which is what it should be.

For me the film could have been better if they made Joker more intrical to the plot instead of reducing him to just a backstory role for Harley. Not really sure how much better all these other scenes would have made the film tbh.

I looked at SS about 10+ times. I guess I'm cheesy.
