2018 CBM Year End Awards: Best film

Definitely Infinity War.

Overall a really great year for CBMs. Haven't seen Spider-Verse yet but am looking forward to it after everything I've heard. This is my ranking. 2-4 are really close.

1. IW. Not close for me. An incredible and epic culmination of everything that the MCU had been building up to for the previous 18 films. Can't wait for Captain Marvel and Endgame to round out this first saga.
2. Black Panther. Really great film. I do feel like the final battle between T'Challa and Killmonger could have been better, but other than that this was another hit for the MCU with a great villain to back it up.
3. Aquaman. I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. Between this and WW, I think that the DCEU may finally be finding its way. Shazam looks good and I have faith in Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot to deliver a great WW sequel. Hopefully by moving away from Snyder's vision this universe can start to become something strong.
4. Deadpool 2. Great movie. Didn't quite live up to the first one mainly because part of the joy of the original was how unique it was - a sequel inherently can't fulfil that to the same extent. Regardless a brilliantly funny film. That sequence with X-Force killed me, and Domino in particular was a great addition.
5. Ant-Man & The Wasp. Also a really good film. Small-scale fun with a gut-punch after the credits. All five of the movies up to this point on the list have been really good, so this being at no 5 is more a testament to how good the others are than saying anything about this one. It just wasn't quite as amazing as the rest.
6. Venom. This film was meh. Doesn't compare to the others on the list IMO. Not bad though. Just not great either.

I fully watched like one or two CBM in the last year and only bits and pieces of others, so I can't be objective judge. Remove me please.

Infinity War. No competition. That movie was a masterpiece.

Out of the ones I saw on this list I would go with infinity war.
