Robbie Amell Cast as Firestorm in 'The Flash' TV Series

The CW's DC universe continues to expand! Today,The Hollywood Reporter announced that The Tomorrow People's Robbie Amell has been cast as Ronnie Raymond in the upcoming The Flash TV series. He'll make his debut in the third episode and, according to the site, will be a "major reoccurring role." Executive producer Greg Berlanti says he, Geoff Johns, and Andew Kreisberg crafted the pilot and series with the character in mind and they "can't wait for viewers and fans to check it out."

The report reveals Robbie's a maintenance worker at S.T.A.R. Labs and is an "integral part" in the accident that gave Barry Allen super-speed. And yes, Robbie Amell is related to Stephen Amell -- they're cousins.

This should be interesting to see play but now I'm waiting to see Captain Atom being cast for some reason.

So we have Firestorm on the Flash and we also have Katana and The Atom on Arrow. This should be a great fall for watch TV.

Although I will add the pilot for Flash was awesome.

Felicity is suppose to be his step mother in the comics and the actor is older than Felicity's. That could lead to a weird place.

It's too bad this show is terrible. Couldn't even sit through the entire first episode.

Meh. Firestorm is lame. And if arrow meets him and they look the same.......Miara had yet another family secret...

I did not like him on TP. Now, I did not like the show that much either, & figured it would be canceled, but I did want John & that little girl Charlotte to get spun-over somehow into Arrow, as they could still play people with powers being collected by a government agency for a meta-army. Maybe bring Steven's mom as well. But this guy was horrible. He is the cousin of Arrow? Guess we know which branch all the acting talent went to.

Actually though, it kinda sounds like they could still have professor Stein & just recycle TP's story of Steven being manipulated by an older guy that he kinda sorta should be able to trust. In fact, just cast Jacob/Lucifer.

Now, if we could only get Chloe, Tess Mercer & Smallville-Luthors to show up in the DC-TV-Verse.

Recast Justin Hartley as Aquaman. Or as HalJordan because of FerrisAir.

& if we can get Laura Vandervout wearing something skimpy, that'd be nice. I'd like her to play LibertyBelle, or Jessie Chambers.

Also, a bit off topic, but I really wish they'd rename the characters of KatieCassidy & Emily. BlackCanary really should be her own show, & its even more annoying now that Felicity & Firestorm could meet. Though I assume they'll just be step-siblings now.

A resounding F*ck no. That pilot was horrible and Hartley is a terrible actor and was a terrible Aquaman.

I only watched the pilot, and it looked.......I dunno, like a typical CW mess. I recall them moving it to a bunch of different timeslots this season before they just pulled the plug. Good riddance.

Anyways, I think this is good casting. Can't wait for other characters to be announced, if there are any.
