The City
The Tick and Arthur were on their nightly patrol going from roof to roof when they caught the sound of screaming. The Tick turned and noted the bright white light that barreled through the streets erasing everything as it went. He saw American Maid and Die Fledermaus fleeing in terror along with the people but were swept away.
He and Arthur watched in horror as the sky went white and then the Tick was alone. He looked around confused, "What evil is this?"
The void
A great voice shot out all around him, "You've been scheduled for a standard universal reboot."
He looked to the sky, "A what?"
"A reboot, the people in charge weren't happy with your numbers so they cancelled you so we're going to do a time jump and try to sell you to a new generation."
The Tick was scratching his head, "Um, so why didn't I get erased?"
"You're going to help us decide what kind of reboot you'll be getting. Sit tight and we'll be right with you as soon as possible."
The Tick still confused looked on the blank nothingness, "So what am I supposed to do now?"
A pamphlet dropped from the sky and landed at his feet. He picked it up and read aloud, "So you're getting a reboot."
"Give it a read."

Many years later, The void.
The Tick sat still reading the pamphlet that seemed to have an infinite number of pages despite its size when the voice returned, "Okay we've gathered some options."
The Tick looked up, "Its about time."
"Sorry, there are a lot of universal reboots going on lately, you don't even want to know what happened with the smurfs."
Tick gave a curious look but shrugged, "Okay what am I supposed to do?"
"Just stand right there and in a minute you'll be in a new universe."
"Neat."
