The Fan-Fic Poetry Contest!

Welcome to the first ever (I think it's the first) fan-fic poetry contest!

How does it work, you ask? Well, it's simple. You choose a comic character, then you write a poem that relates to them. It can be about them, their origin, an event. It can be about love, tragedy, or just anything that involves the character. Once everyone submits their poem, people will vote which they think is best. There is only one round, so don't expect some long drawn-out competition.

Rules:

The poem MUST relate to the character in some way.

I haven't decided on the word count, but it should not be too long.

Everyone picks a character. Once a character is picked, no one else can write about him/her.

I figure we could all try something new. Whether you're good at poetry or not, enter anyway.

@awesam: Sure, but any character that I pick won't be well known enough for anyone else to have chosen.

@pyrogram: I've never really wanted to RPG. Not sure why. It's actually a lot like narrating in first person.

@razzatazz: Might as well name them anyway so everyone can know who you're writing.

@awesam: RPGing is never in first person, It may have even been against the rules at one point I think...

@awesam: I will have to think about it as well. :)

@pyrogram: Most of the ones that I've read before were in the voice of the character.

@awesam: 99% of them are not! Only people like Surkit really do it, Its good! But....hard really.

any specific style you looking for or can we do any type?

@pyrogram: Well, they weren't from this site. Almost all of the ones I read here were part of some grand thread where a lot of people RP.

@awesam: I dabble in a number forms of writing...

I was a treasurer of a poetry club once (useless position btw since we never had any money or spent any money...). Then I was elected president (still think the election was rigged since my opponent voted for me instead of herself...)

@awesam: Should do it how we do it in the CCC's, Post em here...getting feedback pre-voting is one of the best reasons to even join IMO.

@awesam: If they want, somebody done a poem for a CCC once, Forgot who though, I mean it like this, instead of sending to you people post their entries into this thread to get more feedback so they can improve rather than wait and get less replies in voting.
