4410 BBY(established as Freedon Nadd’s birth)
4317 BBY(established as Freedon Nadd’s physical decease)
Three hundred and one years before the rise to power of Dark Lord Exar Kun alongside his Sith apprentice Ulic Qel-Droma and their devastating Great Sith War that had violently shaped the very course of the galaxy; the Jedi again were the primordial force, the galaxy’s defenders of peace and justice.
On planet Ossus, the Jedi Order’s great and well known dominion--the place where the fighters of good were being forged for thousands of generations; the centre of galaxy’s greatest ally.
On this bright planet Jedi heroes were training, padawans and masters alike, training day by day in the rays of its two suns--Adega Prime and Adega Besh--both orbiting around the planet and warming its lush surface. The planet’s trees, soil, mountains and structures were permeated by the light side, a strong and luminous centre of Force, pure as a Jedi's heart.
One of the Jedi Order’s great assets was the Great Library of Ossus--perhaps the greatest Jedi library in the history of the order founded one thousand years during the Great Hyperspace War; the library was a massive structure comissioned by the ancient Republic’s Grand Jedi Master Odan-Urr. Within this library, the old Draethos Jedi collected old documents and scrolls describing every detail of sentient history and ingenuity. Residence to the Order after abandoning their homeworld Tython in the Deep Core, the Great Library became a symbol of the Jedi and the great repository of knowledge in the galaxy. Over the ensuing centuries Ossus prospered as the home of Jedi wisdom, stimulating visitors from across the Inner Core Worlds and Outer Rime alike to come and study at the archives.
Inside the library’s solid walls a green Twi'lek Jedi Master named Melok Saz accompanied by a shy kid named Freedon Nadd--both were standing next to the Grand Jedi Master of the ancient Republic, the great scholar Odan-Urr.
The wise Draethos Jedi was watching the holocron of his long-deceased Jedi Master, Ooroo; the holocron was an instrument deeply immersed in the wisdom and the knowledge of the Force that helped Odan-Urr in his becoming as a Grand Master of the Order.
Sensing the two’s presence, the Draethos deactivated Master Ooroo’s holocron and was eager to listen to Melok Saz’s news.
"The Force is unusually strong with this child, Master Odan-Urr.", Odan-Urr felt the potent waves of pure Force energy that emanated from that child as Melok Saz addressed to him.
"Who is he?", the Draethos said gently and calm being friendly.
The Twi'lek kneeled before the wise old Draethos out of respect and consideration,
"He's Freedon Nadd, Grand Master, son of our great late Jedi Knight Huius’Modi Nadd and Vyr-Fortys Nadd, one of the greatest soldiers the Republic has ever had. I have found him on Alderaan, the Apalis Coast. A few hours earlier that place was completely devastated by the returned forces of Nylon Zax and his crew of pirates. This kid lost his parents when they broke into their house to steal their valuables. Nadd’s parents are gone, and he insisted to join our order, Master."
Master Saz had one final word before letting the Draethos to continue their conversation,
“I think he should have his chance to prove his potential in becoming a Jedi.”
"Step close, child.", the Draethos called Nadd to sit down with him on his red carpet marked with the crest of the Jedi Order.
The kid came close with humility kneeling to the Grand Jedi Master folowing Melok Saz’s example,
"I’m Freedon Nadd, Master Odan-Urr, and my family has been killed by a couple of malign pirates!", Nadd suddenly got in tears before the Draethos Jedi after his long trip from Alderaan, he felt that as if his very own soul was like breaking in half.
Odan-Urr has been living for centuries, and during his spiritual journey of the Force, he has met suffering, pain and despair, he knew them too well. To extinguish or at least to hold in check the poison that devoured the boy’s spirit and his mind, the Draethos lay his gray finger on Freedon’s face.
"Cease to remorse their death, for they are one with the Force, young Nadd.", Odan-Urr touched Nadd's face wiping his tears away.
"That's why I want to enter in your ranks. I want to find a new meaning of my life. I want to forget all the bad things that happened to me.", Nadd lay his little body on the Draethos Jedi, hugging him, trying to find the peace in his own heart.
"Enough crying, my child. For this day, you will enter in our order. I vow you this, Freedon Nadd.", Odan-Urr consolated Nadd, trying to wash away the pain of his sorrowed little heart.
Odan-Urr promised Freedon Nadd he will help him in becoming an accomplished Jedi. From the very first moment he saw the boy, he was aware about his immense power in the Force. The Draethos knew that if Nadd was about to dedicate his whole life in the service of the order, he would become in truth a strong Jedi.
4408 Years Before The Battle of Yavin and 20 Years Later After The First Pirate Wars
The Twi'lek Jedi Master brought Freedon Nadd to his private room, it was just his first day on Ossus at the Jedi centre and he had to get use with the things around him. Master Saz opened Freedon's room's doors by using the Force, not something amazing for Freedon since he has seen Jedi and heard about their miraculous abilities; from time to time Nadd was lucky to see his mother utilizing the Force whenever their property had been violated by ordinary thieves or when she had been using it against men that rarely threatened her family, sometimes she used the Force to trick the people’s mind when they were in a financial crisis.
Master Melok Saz lay his right palm over Nadd’s tiny left shoulder showing him the room,
"Nadd, this is your room. Step inside, you are free to read any book you want written by the Grand Master Odan-Urr, also you can study a little piece of history from three holorecorders, just make sure to use that holoprojector on your desk."
Freedon was from a broken home, from broken people;studying and learning was everything he could wish for. The universe, how the stars exploded, how the black holes were formed, how could one utilize the Force;all these things were spread in his mind, constantly consuming his thoughts.
His room was modest just like any other Jedi, a floating bed, a desk, two compartiments-one in the left with his Jedi attire and one in the right with books and the three holorecorders Master Saz mentioned, the walls were painted white and really massive.
The young boy opened the right compartment taking one of the books marked with the Jedi Order’s crest sitting on the floating bed with it.
Freedon saw the book's cover--a Jedi Knight with a green lightsaber protecting an innocent person, the book was called "Tueri et humiliari". He had no idea that Odan-Urr was not just an extraordinary Grand Jedi Master for his mastery of the Force, but of his extended knowledge of the living energetic field that was bounding all the living matter; the old wise Draethos not only built this Jedi Library, but has written countless of manuscripts, tomes, volumes and books, indisputable would be Odan-Urr's heritage. Most of Jedi apprentices in truth never read them since they have not reached completely to maturity, they were doing that if their teachers ordered them to do so.
Freedon opened the old book looking at the first page entitled "Jedi Principles", there he began learning the principles of a Jedi and how they should act, what should they do.
"A Jedi protects, they do not attack no matter the circumstances, for we are the protectors of life not the bringers of death. We serve, we do not rule no matter what, for we are the servants of civilizations not their rulers. We are selfless, not selfish, for we help the ones who are in great danger not letting them to die. We are not authoritarian, but humble, for we must show to the people how to behave one with each other. We must put the other ones above us, for our desires are not important, but their needs are. We must not fall in love, for the emotions can lead us to the Dark Side, and a Jedi must reject it with all of their heart and soul. As Jedi we rely on our reason to make a choice, for the emotions can cloud one Jedi's mind. We must forgive one's actions if they want to repent, not matter what they have done. We spare any unarmed man, for any unarmed man is already defeated, and they deserve the chance to redemption. We take our strength from ourselves, we are our own instrument toward victory, a Jedi relies on no one but themselves. We are certain of victory when the victims are the least. We have not fear of death, for death it is a natural cycle of the life. A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack."
Freedon Nadd was reading the first page with excitement, impressed by Odan-Urr's work and his perception of the Force and what a Jedi was supposed to do in certain situations. Freedon's heart powerful pulsated, he was more excited than ever; he felt a joy he could not express in words, he knew it was there, but could not express it.
The young boy moved with gladness to the next page entitled "Fallen", where he was reading about the many gifts the dark side of the Force had to offer to Jedi and what a Jedi had to do to avoid its corruption.
"Dark times always have come testing our character and our judge, but as we know, some shall always fall to the evil twisted side of the Force.
The Dark Side has many ways to seduce an innocent Jedi and turn them into its eternal servant. A Jedi always must pay attention to themselves, for the Dark Side is like a parasite, for they never know when it has taken the control over them, they also must not underestimate the influence of the Dark Side, for no one is immune to it, not even the Grand Masters of the Jedi Order, Jedi need to put an end to their curiosity, for extreme curiosity leads to obsession, and obsession leads to the loss of sanity; some things are not meant to be unlocked. A Jedi not needs to think they are superior, for their fall to the Dark Side of the Force will be swift. A Jedi covets knowledge for the sake of knowing the nature of the Force, they must not crave knowledge for the sake of power. A Jedi must trust no one in the service of the Dark Side, for once they did, they have already fallen. As members of the Jedi Order we must not try to think we can control the Dark Side and it is not destructive in its nature, for our fall it is inevitable. We share what we know with our fellow, we do not keep it for ourselves. As Jedi we must not study anything connected by the Dark Side, for the Dark Side destroyes and obliterates life itself.
Power offers nothing to a Jedi, only despair and eternal pain.
Every Jedi has a price to fall to the Dark Side, for one it is power, for another it is knowledge, and for other it is peace. The Dark Side has many ways to seduce a Jedi."
Freedon was reading that page with care, he was sure to keep that in mind when he began his Jedi training. He never knew about the danger of the dark side, he was never aware that the dark side could twist one's heart and turn them into monsters, really changing them as whole.
The young padawan was reading the next page entitled "Redemption". He learned that any Jedi who has fallen to the dark side of the Force they still have a chance to repent for their immoral actions.
"My young fellow, keep in mind that anyone, Jedi or not, they all deserve a chance to redeem themselves for their actions. Just as the Dark Side works in mysterious ways, the Light Side does as well.
A Dark Jedi can be turned back to the right side if you find your appropriate words. But to turn back a fallen fellow, you need to understand why they have done such things, what bothers them. Not using violence, not using swear words, for in every being there is a drop of purity, but you have to know how to save them from the profound darkness that shrouds one Jedi's heart and mind. To know how to speak appropiately might require studies of vocabulary, but to know how to address to a person that is near the edge of losing themselves and bring them back, it requires not just sympathy and understanding of how the one's mind work, but experience of life.
As I said previously, some Jedi turn to the Dark Side for knowledge--thinking they are not completed, others turn to the Dark Side for power-they think the Dark Side has a grandiose position in their life, and there is the rare type of Jedi that turn to the Dark Side not for the sake of power, knowledge or a desire to subjugate the lesser, but to save a galaxy. This type of men are so devoted to the Jedi principles that they would fall to the Dark Side only with the goal to destroy it. As I affirmed earlier, every Jedi has a motive to fall, and every Jedi can be saved, no matter what they have done, of course if they are willing to change their way of life.
Use the Force, sense their emotions, read their thoughts, and when you have done all of these steps, you can use this to conquer your enemies by turning back to what is right and just.
Remember young padawan, the Light does not cleanse the Dark with fire; the Light does not attack, but protects; the Light is a luminous shield, not a blackened sword.
If the Light ever is used as a sword, then it has already surrendered to the Dark."
"Interesting, but being a Jedi is really a hard work not so easy as many would think.", Freedon closed the old book placing it back in the right compartiment on the metal bookstand. The young boy took the first holorecorder to the right and connected it by the holoprojector that lay on his desk. A tridimensional image emerged before his brown eyes, the holoprojector's lights illuminating his black short hair; and in the recording Freedon heard the voices of the Grand Jedi Master Odan-Urr and the Jedi Master Vodo-Sosk Baas-one the very prefiguration of wisdom and guidance in the Jedi Order and the other the very personification of lightsaber combat and other unknown martial arts in the Jedi Order.
From his room, padawans and masters that continued to walk in the right and the left side of his door, they heard the voices of Odan-Urr and Vodo-Siosk Baas; it was a holorecorder, they were aware of that.
Freedon concentrated at the holorecorder's story, ignoring everything that was around his physical shelter; his eyes looked soleil there, his ears ignored the other sounds that surrounded him just to hear the Masters Odan-Urr's and Vodo's great tale.
And the story began to unfold.
"This is the story of the fallen Jedi that were exiled from our benevolent order and had embraced the dark side of the Force and were fought by our Jedi ancestors in the Hundred-Year Darkness. They are the Exiles, known as the first Lords of the Sith.", Vodo's voice introduced the young padawan in the story.
His mind was fascinated as Vodo-Siosk Baas was a good story-teller, his heart was filled with joy, he could not wait to hear more. And now he heard Odan-Urr's voice,
"When the Hundred-Year Darkness had come to an end at the Battle of Corbos, the Jedi leaders were inclined to banish the fallen Jedi into the Unknown Regions hoping that with time they would see the flaws of their ways. The fallen Jedi were stripped of their weapons and transported on a barren world.
But the Exiles have not roamed the galaxy without purpose, they landed on the planet Korriban, a world strong in the Dark Side of the Force and home to the Sith people. They have scared the primitive species with their display of dark side power and forged a league with the Sith King, Hakagram Graush, and then overthrew him. They declared themselves rulers of the Sith people and became known as the Lords of the Sith, with their leader being called the Jen'ari, or "Dark Lord" of the Sith.
Some of the Exiles, however, were not satisfied to rule the Sith and wait to gather their strength. Within a year, some corrupt Jedi, led by Baron Dreypa, returned to the territory of the Republic to attack the Jedi. They believed they had the power to crush the Jedi Order, but they were mistaken. Their premature actions served only to alert the Republic and their defenders that some of the Exiles survived and taken control of a region called Sith Space out in uncharted space.
Those who remained behind used their alchemical arts to blend their DNA with those of the Sith, allowing their lineage to continue through the Sith species."
Freedon Nadd was shocked, he could not realize and accept that the very primordial enemy the Jedi ancestors had faced, the Sith Lords, were once noble Jedi members of the order. He always believed the Sith he knew were not tied and rooted by the order which he swore to serve. Was there a lesson to learn, Nadd wondered himself?
But the legendary tale was far from being over, Jedi Master Vodo's voice led him in the time of the Golden Age of the Sith and the Great Hyperspace War that has occured,
"After their defeat during the earliest Great Schisms, the adherents of the dark side fled from Republic space and settled on the world of Korriban, where they ruled over the barbaric, red-skinned Sith species like gods.
In time, the evil Jedi and the remarkably Force-sensitive Sith natives interbred through the use of Sith alchemy, and became one people. The united Sith formed an immensely rich and powerful empire built upon their malevolent sorcery, and dark-side-fueled technology.
Over the centuries, the Exiles were forgotten by the Galactic Republic, as were all records of the Republic also lost by the Sith. The two civilizations thrived in isolation, each ignorant of the other.
During the height of the Sith Empire, two Republic hyperspace explorers stumbled upon the Sith mausoleum planet of Korriban by chance, the siblings, Gav and Jori Daragon. After stealing back their impounded ship Starbreaker 12, they entered into hyperspace, trusting in their potential of using the Force to survive the perilous journey.
Their arrival on Korriban coincided with the deemise of the greatest Dark Lord at the time, Marka Ragnos. The two challengers for his crown, Viceroy of Khar Shian Naga Sadow, and Ludo Kressh.
Upon landing, Gav and Jori were brought to the icy Sith capital world of Ziost. After knowing of the forgotten Republic, Ludo Kressh desired to kill them, while the Viceroy wanted to use them for his goals of conquest. The Vice Roy Naga Sadow masterminded the Daragons's escape, and planted evidence that they had been rescued by Republic agents.
Sadow moved the Daragons to his personal fortress on Khar Shian, pretending to be their friend, while simultaneously using their supposed "escape" to galvanize the Sith Lords into a war against the Republic. Keeping the siblings separated, he began to teach Gav Sith Sith sorcery.
Kressh soon learned about Sadow's subterfuge, and marshaled his followers to attack Sadow's fortress. When Kressh's fleet arrived, Naga Sadow unleashed a massive force that he had previously withheld and soundly defeated Kressh, whose flagship was destroyed in the battle. With his competition presumably dead, Naga Sadow united the military forces of the Empire, and crowned himself Dark Lord of the Sith.
After numerous delays, Jori succeeded to deliver a warning to Empress Teta of the Koros system. The skeptical empress eventually followed the advice of her Jedi councilor Memit Nadill, and that of his companions Grand Jedi Master Odan-Urr and Master Ooroo. She alerted Coruscant to the impending invasion, but few heeded her warnings."
The young boy was curious, he wanted to hear more, again he felt happiness when he heard the two Jedi Masters's voices. Freedon kept on watching and listening to the holorecorder as Grand Master Odan-Urr's voice continued the story,
"Sadow made his base at the Primus Goluud at the Coreward end of the Daragon Trail and deployed his fleets to invade numerous Republic worlds simultaneously. Sadow knew he could not defeat the much larger Republic Navy, and relied on surprise and rapid early victories to carry the day. He positioned his eye-shaped meditation sphere near the red-giant star Primus Goluud and used battle meditation to aid his forces in the field.
Passing the Primus Goluud, Gav Daragon was given command of the Koros Major invasion fleet. When Gav arrived in his home system, a significant battle ensued and the Sith successfully established a foothold in the system. Sadow proclaimed Gav the "liberator" of his home system, and using the Koros Trunk Line, attacked Kaikielius and the Foerost Shipyards. Moving up the trade routes, the Sith under the command of Shar Dakhan, Sadow's chief lieutenant, attacked Coruscant itself, landing at the Legislative District and reached the Senate Hall where they encountered Jedi defenders. Other parts of the fleet went to Metellos, Basilisk and Shawken.
During the fighting at Koros Major, Gav searched for his sister at Aarrba the Hutt's starship repair dock, flanked by a host of Massassi bodyguards. Without their commander, the Sith forces on Koros fell into disarray, and were defeated. Upon arrival at Primus Goluud, Gav opened fire on the meditation sphere of Naga Sadow, breaking the concentration of the Sith Lord upon the distant invasion of Coruscant, thus allowing the Republic soldiers to rally and turn the tide of the battle.
Facing unmeassurable losses, Lord Naga Sadow pulled his forces back to to Primus Goluud, but was followed by Jori, Empress Teta and a large Koros fleet. Knowing that the tide of war had turned against him, Naga Sadow abandoned his embattled forces to the leadership of Gav Daragon, and used a Sith superweapon aboard his flagship Corsair to implode the nearby star. Disgusted by Naga Sadow's betrayal, Gav turned against his Sith Master. Gav transmitted the hyperspace coordinates of the Sith Empire to Empress Teta, and warned her to leave the system just before Primus Goluud went supernova, destroying meditation sphere of Sith Lord Naga Sadow, and Gav along with it."
Master Vodo-Siosk Baas's voice affirmed its presence,
"Naga Sadow managed to flee back to the Sith Empire, but Ludo Kressh was waiting for him in ambush. Having discovered the scheme of Naga Sadow to assassinate him, Kressh had allowed the new Sith Lord to think him dead. His attack on fortress of Sadow had been a feint intended to lull Sadow into complacency, but in the end thecomplex plans of Kressh came to naught. He was killed when one of Sadow's vessels slammed into his own during the frenzied Sith battle over Korriban.
The Republic armadas arrived while the Sith fleets battled each other, and managed to annihilate them both in the cross-fire. Lord Naga Sadow sacrificed the remains of his fleet to ensure his own survival. Destroying his pursuers with tricks and sorcery, he limped away from the engagement aboard his damaged flagship. With Sadow fled, Shar Dakhan became acting Dark Lord.
In the aftermath of the battle, Supreme Chancellor Pultimo of the Republic ordered a general invasion of Sith space. The Republic and the Jedi Order then embarked on a military expedition throughout the territories ruled by the Sith Empire, to search out all remaining Sith strongholds and destroy them. The attack was temporarily averted when Shar Dakhan ordered suicide attacks, forcing the Republic forces to retreat but many Sith killed themselves ritually, giving an advantage to the Republic fleet to win the War.
At the end of the Great Hyperspace War, inspired by the example of his deceased Master Ooroo, the Grand Jedi Master Odan-Urr founded the great museum city upon the planet Ossus. Stored within its countless libraries and vaults were ancient Jedi artifacts gathered by his fallen Master, as well as Sith artifacts collected from the wreckage of their invasion fleet. The Sith artifacts included a Sith holocron that Odan-Urr had found on an abandoned Sith vessel near Koros Major. Over the centuries, Ossus grew to become the premier Jedi library, archive, and academy of the Galactic Republic.
Due to her bravery and tactical brilliance during the war, the people of Koros honored their leader Empress Teta by renaming their star system after her."
And then, Freedon Nadd disconnected the holoprojector from the holorecorder placing them both in the metal compartiment. He heard the two wise Jedi Masters's gentle voices, and he was ready for what was coming the next day. He was sure that the knowledge he acquired in this moment would leave a good impression to his classmates and to the masters.
"Please, please no!", a figure familiar to Freedon Nadd shouted in despair, helpless, powerless, a woman. Freedon looked at her, she recognized it, it was his mother, Huius'Modi Nadd.
What it seemed to be a dream, in the young boy's mind it appeared to be a real situation; everything around him was in complete chaos.
"Leave us alone!", a man shouted to the bastard Umbaran, the man of the family, Vyr-Fortys Nadd, Freedon's father, he immediately knew the man's identity when he screamed holding his cortosis blade.
Huius'Modi was a human that had left the Order of the Jedi during her knighthood and met Vyr-Fortys Nadd, a man that once had served the Republic as a republican soldier twenty years ago.
That Umbaran looked familiar to Freedon;it was Az-Shqelles from Umbara-leader of Nylon Zax's Pirate Empire,
"Didn't you know that pirates don't leave nothing behind!?", Az-Shqelles was laughing pointing with his blaster at them.
Huius'Modi wanted to save her familiy no matter what, but she was aware that if the pirate was disturbed he would have killed her son, Freedon Nadd. Vyr-Fortys was very familiar with Zax's crew, he knew what evil could those pirates do, after all he had fought them in the Pirate Wars as a republican soldier twenty years ago. They all believed that when Nylon Zax and his pirate crew were defeated, they would have never come back, but they were wrong. This ambush upon Alderaan-upon its vast lands, it was unexpected, in their ignorance and bliss, both the Republic and the Jedi have thought that Zax has lost.
The Umbaran knew well the human man at a closer inspection; he had met and fought this male during the Pirate Wars; his right scarred eye remembered the pale alien this unfortune incident.
"You! I know you!", Az-Shqelles looked straight into Vyr-Fortys's brown eyes, and seeing the alien, the human remembered of the Umbaran as well.
"Still Zax's lackey, right!?", Vyr-Fortys said choked by the white alien.
"Withdraw your words!", the anger increased the alien's adrenaline.
"C'mon, they all say that you're nothing but his servant.", Vyr-Fortys laughed mocking him.
But then, the alien laughed too,
"Fool, fools! Nylon Zax's empire is big, and soon we will blow up all the planets that don't have any valuables or those that dare to oppose. With our ancient Sith magical mass-destruction superweapon we will do that."
"How would you do that, you'd need a guy who has the Force?"
Az-Shqelles ironized the man revealing him about the secret identity that Nylon Zax had tried to hide from the others;the fact that he was a being that was capable to sense and manipulate the very fabric of the Force.
"But how did you manage to find it?", Vyr-Fortys heavily breathed.
"When we were defeated and the Republic won, Emperor Zax and us travelled to unknown destination, and it was here where Emperor Zax found a world that belonged to the powerful Sith Order, the infamous Ziost planet. In this place the first Sith Lords have built a superweapon that was able to shatter a planet to nothing more but dust. Unfortunately for them, they didn't have the time to use it for their special whims, fortunately for us, we seized the biggest luck in the galaxy;a super powerful Sith weapon, completely in our control."
"Ziost? I always thought that planet was for Sith fanatics."
"It's real, I can tell ya that."
"So Zax's not just a common pirate, but he's smarter than all of you."
"Emperor Zax was fascinated by the dark side, especially by the Sith suff. If you ask me maybe not becoming one, but certainly he was resolved to get his hands on their hidden most powerful secrets. There's rumors amongst our pirates that Emperor Zax had taken lessons from a Sith holocron he discovered there, it belonged to one of the first Sith Lords. Sorzus Syn was called if my memory serves well."
The Apalis Coast was in grave danger. Flames enveloped the surroundings, the people were screaming outside of Nadd family's house, but the pair was not about to remain silent. As the Umbaran was ready to apply the final blow, his wife telekinetically took her lightsaber from the broken wooden shelf destroyed by Az-Shqelles that served as a special place for her weapon to remember her that once she has served the Jedi and always she could return to them if she wanted to.
A pure luminous green light emerged from Huius'Modi's lightsaber's hilt disturbing the air around her, Freedon saw her and her green weapon, he also saw a doppleganger of himself hiding behind a wooden door;scared and terrified.
Az-Sqelles recognized her combat stance, she had to be a Jedi Sentinel despite of the green lightsaber she held in her smooth hands,
"Well, well Vyr, it looks like you're married to a Jedi. You lucky guy.", the Umbaran grabbed him behind and warned his wife that if she made another step, she would kill her husband.
Learning the ways of the Force and lightsaber combat under the guidance of the renowned lightsaber Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas at the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine, she had forged a very deep understanding of the Force, and could use the Force in many ways that most of the old Masters strived to. Only the Grand Jedi Master Odan-Urr and the Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas were her superiors in the command over the Force and lightsaber combat.
Huius'Modi quickly knocked out Az-Shqelles from behind with a heavy object releasing her husband from the Umbaran's slender arms. Yet it was short-lived, the pale alien got up and tried blasting Vyr-Fortys with his red blaster rifle, until, a bright blue spherical shield surrounded Vyr-Fortys entirely protecting him, repelling the fire blast back to the Umbaran. Az-Shqelles activated his triangled red right shield-gauntlet-a tool he and the other space pirates have received for maximum protection personally from the Pirate Emperor Zax, indisputable ruler of Ziost;and Az-Shqelles used it to parry the blow that could have brought his doom.
Such tools were never seen before, those shield-gauntlets were the product of Sith alchemy; Emperor Zax has spent years on Ziost learning and mastering the lost knowledge of the first Dark Lords of the Sith-Sorzus Syn, Karness Muur and XoXann. The pirate who had become an emperor in his own right has not only found how to create such cruel instruments but also how to make certain devices that could be wore as suits and imitated the very abilities of one who was able to use the Force.
Az-Shqelles's gloves could catch objects in an orange bright sphere and lifting them up, his black boots allowed him to perform huge leaps, the silver blinkers he had on his face let him to perceive the moving objects in slow motion just as the Jedi could do, and if that did not pose already a danger, the gloves had the power to unleash the infamous Sith lightning. But those suits needed an outer source to function properly; they had to drain electricity out of objects in order to work, a reason the Umbaran did not desire to waste the suit's extraordinary powers.
"I can feel the dark side in this pirate's armor, Vyr. Watch out, it needs outer supplies to function.", Huius'Modi felt how the dark side's mark affirmed its presence through it.
Yet, the suit did not feed only upon electricity, but Force energy as well; improved by the Pirate Emperor Zax, the suit could also devour barricades conceived from the very fabric of Force. Az-Shqelles's armor was like a living devourer, slowly obliterating the shield Huius'Modi created to protect her husband.
"Honey, what's happening!?",Vyr-Fortys looked surprised.
"His armor consumes my barrier, I need to let it go, otherwise I'll lose my powers.", Huius'Modi struggled, she was in unimaginable pain as the alchemized suit was slowly draining her Force barrier.
Despite the unbelievable ability of the armor Az-Shqelles wore, the armor had a limit for energy and electricity;too much power would have shortcut the armor and kill its wearer.
In a flash of bright anger, Az-Shqelles caught Huius'Modi in an orange floating sphere, hurling her by the broken house's inner walls, damaging her ribs. The woman's green lightsaber was on the floor and the man's fury boiled his soul,
"No one hurts my wife!", Vyr-Fortys shouted at the Umbaran pirate as the adrenaline began to invade his body.
But then, an opportunity appeared.
The former republican soldier noticed a weakness in the Sith-alchemized armor;the suit had a tiny matrix on the wearer's chest that connected all its internal wires, it was the center-the power core.
As she tried to get up;filled with anger, her husband blasted Az-Shqelles's armor's matrix-resulting in a fatal blow that injured the Umbaran pirate, almost burning his aeshetic appearance.
The small blue explosion almost damaged the Umbaran's pale skin rendering him powerless. With his last strength, Az-Shqelles contacted telepathically the other pirates that were bringing plague upon the Apalis Coast.
Since Zax had become a Pirate Emperor on Ziost and delved deep into studies of the Sith, he constructed Force-imbued microchips that could form a neuronal link with his pirates;of course he was able to read their thoughts, while they could not. When Az-Shqelles received the Zaxan microchip, he realized that from now on he had to swear loyalty to Nylon Zax, otherwise he was risking to have his brain scramble. Since they have discovered by accident Ziost-colony to the first Dark Lords of the Sith, no pirate dared to defy or betray Emperor Nylon Zax.
Utilizing the healing power of the light side of the Force she had learned from her Krevaaki Vodo-Siosk Baas, Huius'Modi immediately remedied her broken ribs.
"Hang in there, honey, I'm back in shape.",she was trying to get up, apparently in perfect shape.
"My dear, are you okay?",he helped her to get back on her feet.
Suddenly a large group of space pirates broke into their already barely destroyed house,
"Kill them, kill them all!",Az-Shqelles shouted with anger and experiencing extremely agonizing pain.
"Ready, honey?", she said.
"Ready, dear?", he added.
"Ladies first.",he was standing side by side with her wife holding his blaster rifle, ready for a strike.
"It will be my pleasure.",she pulled back her lightsaber from the floor and reactivated it.
In the dream, Freedon saw them;his father firing in the pirates crying with despair, his mother slaying them and continuing to not let them to discover him at random.
His father jumped hiding behind an overturned table, his mother was employing the Force assaulting the space pirates with massive air waves.
Az-Shqelles knew that he was going to die soon if he did not receive any medical help, he feared death more than anything else. Fortunately for the fallen Umbaran, he saw what appeared to be a small figure behind the living room's doors that was continously watching them with curiosity and fear, it was an opportunity to escape and maybe to kill them, after all these were responsibile for his agonizing condition.
"Stop!",Az-Shqelles's cry of despair calmed down the brutal and ferocious bloody space pirates.
"If you don't give up guys, then I think I'll break your fragile heart.",the white alien pointed at them, laughing and heavily breathing.
Vyr-Fortys looked puzzled, but his queries were met with an answer through telepathy,
"It's Freedon, our child. He's gonna kill him if we won't surrender."
Her fiance felt immediatey an incredible feeling of loss, as if his very soul and heart were torn apart by a knife. Vyr-Fortys answered her back through their telepathic means,
"No, not him!"
"I can't let him to die."
The man who once had fought in the Pirate Wars as a republican trooper against Nylon Zax's pirate crew, who had come on this planet and met this woman wherewith she built a relationship, he left his blaster rifle and kneeled.
Huius'Modi knew where her child was, and she contacted him through use of telepathy, speaking with softness and kindness,
"Freedon, my baby, go, leave this place as soon as you can."
"But mom, what about you?", he answered hidden behind the right corner of the door.
"You're much more important than both of us. Go, leave!"
With the final spoken word, the woman who in times past had trained at the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine with the Krevaaki Master Vodo-Siosk Baas and graduated to the knighthood, who had visited this world and built a relation with him, she deactivated her green lightsaber and threw it on the floor.
A pair of pirates took Az-Shqelles's broken body and placed him in a medical capsule that sustained his body to function and reduced some of the agonizing physical pain he was feeling.
As his body was taken to one of the space ships of the pirates, Az-Shqelles was laughing, and the pirates received an order,
"Kill them, kill them both."
Vyr-Fortys was shocked, that was outrageous, they had a deal, but sensing her husband's doubts and fury, she was aware of their possible death, at least their child Freedon would be spared, but then,
"Kill their brat, too."
Vyr-Fortys screamed with all of his anger and hatred;his body was entirely invaded by adrenaline;his blood pumped in his veins faster than ever,
"Curse you, Az!"
"We had a damn deal!"
Az-Shqelles stopped that pair of pirates that was taking him to the ship and he replied back,
"Taking your lifes just like that, it means nothing. At least with your kid's death, I know you'll gonna die with a broken heart."
Her husband was in truth found in great distress and anger, but knowing that her child, her child Freedon Nadd was going to die, brought her in the grip of the dark side.
In flash of anger, more than anger, hatred;she manipulated the air waves in so powerful ways she blasted some of the pirates with her power empowered by the dark side of the Force.
"No one, no one hurts my child!", she frowned her gaze ready to bring destruction upon those who wanted to harm her precious things.
Huius'Modi pulled back her lightsaber from the floor and began to butch the pirates that were threatening her and her family. She sliced two in half, broke one's chest, hurled a pirate smashing his skull by the ground;she spinned the green lightsaber like a living hurricane, obliterating everything around her.
Vyr-Fortys took back his blaster rifle from the floor starting to shoot the pirates that wanted to harm him and harm his family. He shot three in the head, kicked two's feet breaking them, hit two pirates by the wall with his incredible physical strength;he smashed the two pirates's backs, like a living beast ready to kill everything around him.
Az-Shqelles reached into one of the pirate ships, taken back to the mysterious planet of Emperor Zax, Ziost, he informed his emperor that they managed to take all the valuables on the Apalis Coast, and that soon there will be other planets to be robbed, maybe even worlds dedicated to the dark side, dedicated to the Sith.
But the Umbaran was not a fool, he knew that he has done a major mistake by informing that man about their secret hiding, the place where the Pirate Emperor Nylon Zax was ruling;and it happened that Zax already knew this thanks to the Zaxan chip placed in his head.
As Az-Shqelles's space ship alongside the rest left Alderaan, the pale alien ordered the pirates to fire in Freedon Nadd's house, to wipe any trace of Ziost's existence.
"It looks like we've won after all, honey. At least we're alive.", he barely breathed.
Then, she felt in instant powerful energies descending from the sky,
"No, dear, it's not the end."
Right there, she saw;huge red laser beams imbued by the power of the dark side were about to obliterate them. Desperately, without warning her husband, with the little strength she possessed, she created a powerful blue sphere around her child.
Freedon saw the dark side beams, he screamed toward his double,
"No, don't let our mother and father die.", he watched his double crying.
"Save them, you fool!", he looked at his double covering his eyes with the hands.
"I love you, Vyr. I'm glad I have met you.",she closed her brown eyes embracing the death, the final point of any material being.
"Me too, honey.", he laughed a bit leaving his weapon down and closed his eyes.
Laser beams, black as the darkness itself wiped out their home, razing the ground's ring, next, everything was consumed by the darkness as Freedon's dream seemed to end.
After a flash, Freedon saw again in his dream, neither of his parents survived the bad fortune, but a light appeared, like a beacon of the Force, and then, he heard a voice,
"Son, can you hear me, can you hear me?"
The scenery became much clear just as the mysterious one's identity as well, and then Nadd saw the obscure figure with keen eye, it was a green Twi'lek dressed in a brown robe and white kimono, a Jedi.
Freedon Nadd's doppleganger asked the green alien who was he,
"Who are you?"
"I am a Jedi Master, and I have come to save you.", the Twi'lek smiled to the boy.
The Jedi Order was informed about the return of Nylon Zax and his crew of wretch pirates and sent on Alderaan the famous Keosus Strike Team formed of five Jedi Knights-Pertinax the Bothan, Rever'entior the Draethos, Lexsimp the Muun, Belre the Bith and Luceena Cora the human female, all led by Melok Saz the Twi'lek Jedi Master.
"Where are your parents, son?", Master Saz added toward Freedon's double.
"Dead, they are dead, and I'm all alone.", the double cried with despair and a bit of anger.
As a Jedi Master, Melok understood better the nature of the Force than an initiate or a Knight, he felt the child's father's death, and he differentiated the wooden ash from the flesh ash;the child's father was gone from the corporeal plane.
But when it came about the child's mother's decease, he could not feel her passing, was she alive, the Twi'lek asked himself.
Now that was not of a such big importance, for the Jedi Strike Team was not guided at random to the child's home;they were drawn by the incredible strength in the Force the child possessed.
Before telling anything to the boy, he made clear his resolve,
"Take me away from here, I want to become a Jedi. I want to be just like you."
The Twi'lek Master was impressed by the boy's sudden answer and he smiled at Freedon's double,
"Then, let's leave this place. . .?"
"Freedon, I am Freedon Nadd.", the doppleganger added.
"Then, let's go away, far away from here, Nadd, in a place where a new life begins for you."
"Where?", he asked the Twi'lek Jedi Master as they left the Apalis Coast approaching by the Strike Team's "Warship Carrier", a corvette that brought fear into the hearts of any enemy of the Jedi Order and of the Republic as well.
"On Ossus, Nadd, on Ossus. There you will meet the two great Jedi Masters in the galactic history, the Grand Master Odan-Urr and Master Vodo-Siosk Baas."
The two entered into the Warship Carrier presenting the boy to his Jedi Knights fellow after which they reached out of the planet's atmosphere heading to the Adega system-where the Ossus planet was lain.
After a few hours of roaming through galaxy, they finally have arrived,
"That's it Nadd, we made it at last. The training field of the Jedi Order for generations, the Ossus planet."
And then, the dream ended with a bright light erasing everything around Freedon Nadd,
"Freedon Nadd, wake up, the Jedi training begins today.", Melok Saz added.
It passed so quickly the night, Freedon thought, but no more time to waste, his Jedi training was about to begin;now he could show to the ones he deeply admired what he learned for today.
A Demonstration Of Knowledge
Master Saz was guiding Freedon Nadd to his class room, presenting him to his schoolfellow,
"Young padawans, this is Freedon Nadd--son of the former Jedi Sentinel Huius'Modi and one of the greatest soldiers of the Republic, Vyr-Fortys."
For the first time Freedon saw a class room; he has never been until now to a school, given of his family's situation. The other kids greeted him; in his mind Freedon felt like he was being worshipped and adored,
"Welcome Freedon Nadd, we are excited to meet you.", their raised hands and friendly smiles pleased him.
Normally any kid would have replied them back to their fellow, but Freedon was totally immersed in their "adoration'' for him; his brown eyes gazed upon the two suns of Ossus through the classroom’s large windows; he saw himself alongside with the celestial bodies of the universe, continously in motion.
But Melok Saz brought his mind back on the corporeal plane with his voice, telling him to greet his classmates as well,
"Freedon, tell them something."
The euphoria was short lived and Nadd's imaginary journey among the stars ended; Melok reminded the young kid to speak,
"Hi, I am Nadd, Freedon Nadd, son of Huius'Modi and Vyr-Fortys."
The rest of the class did not want to hear him saying that, the Jedi Master already introduced him to them, but Freedon was too proud, he was always proud, he always thought highly of himself.
As any Jedi Master received three or five apprentices, the resolve being decided by the Grand Jedi Master Odan-Urr, inside the Library founded by the ancient Draethos, there was a huge golden monastic hall meant for every Jedi padawan of their order.
Nadd noticed countless of chairs and wooden tables; a huge metalic spherical device known as the "Jedisilium"-serving as teaching materials for every new generation of protectors of justice and peace.
The Jedisilium was designed by the Jedi Masters Odan-Urr and Vodo-Siosk Baas shortly after the Great Hyperspace War with the Republic and the Sith Empire of Naga Sadow. This device was stored with a very vast knowledge of the Jedi, most of lesson based on the lore of Celegian, Jedi Master Ooroo; Grand Master Odan-Urr has put the knowledge he had learned from the Celegian, while Master Vodo-Siosk Baas had come with the scheme of the marvelous apparatus and has taken actively part to the Jedisilium's fabrication.
After seeing these amazing things, he asked himself where he should sit, where else if not in the first line along with the best students of Ossus's school, or that was what he thought.
Despite the great potential Nadd promised and how much apreciated he was by the Jedi from the first time they saw him, Freedon Nadd couldn't tolerate those who were boring, average, simple and ignorant. This trait unfortunately was not detected by the Masters, yet.
The Jedi students greeted him nicely and he was ready to have a conversation, but as he took a seat and observed what conversations his classmates were having, Nadd knew he was above them. He would not spend his time starting conversations about families, about what has one done yesterday, or gossipping about other people. No. Nadd was interested about galactic history, to reach universal harmony and to unlock the great mysteries of life.
To aquire great heights of Jedi power.
Nadd positioned himself alone desiring under no way to have a talk with the his schoolfellow; it was his first day and he already thought he was better than them, because he knew. . . he knew he will leave a good impression to the Masters with the knowledge he earned the other day.
This day it was Master Saz's time to watch the Jedi padawans and make sure of their progress;as the other Jedi Masters were outside of the Jedi Library's solid walls, training their Jedi Knights.
Inasmuch the Masters Baas and Odan-Urr have brough this Jedisilium of enlightenment and for training, there was no real need for historians, language professors, philosophers. What Saz had to do was to activate the Jedisilium and the holograms of Vodo-Siosk Baas and Odan-Urr revealed themselves to the disciples.
Master Saz watched as the Jedisilum's power heart activated; the device's metalic body started slowly to spin and spin until it got speed moving faster than the physical eye could see, then a hologram was projected, Master Baas's own technological representation.
"Who are the first Dark Lords of the Sith?", Baas's hologram was watching to all the padawans.
But, none raised their hands; Nadd saw this as an opportunity to expose his knowledge and raised his right hand; Vodo's hologram noticed, and asked him to answer by showing him with the holographic finger,
"Tell us, young padawan."
Nadd stood up with firmness and steadiness answering to Vodo's hologram,
"There are twelve of them, and I know a few. They were in truth evil Jedi named as the Exiles, these were-High General Ajunta Pall, Black Legions Commander XoXann, Baron Dreypa, Karness Muur, and Sorzus Syn, the grower of living weapons and biological diseases."
"Well done, padawan, well done."
It was the second year for all the apprentices, and all of them were shocked by this classmate's informations, did he know something else, they asked themselves. And again another chance for Nadd appeared to prove his fresh knowledge as the hologram within the Jedisilium asked the young padawans another question,
"When the Great Hyperspace War has occured, can anyone tell me?"
Freedon answered, he could feel how the adrenaline invaded his body,
"Five hundred ninety years ago, teacher Vodo-Siosk Baas. And this fight was with our Republic and the Sith Empire, the empire being ruled by the legendary Dark Lord Naga Sadow, also a renowned dark side magician during the days of the first Sith Empire."
"Good, good, dear padawan. Someone has learned something for today."
Freedon was proud and he blushed,
"It wasn't hard at all, Master Vodo."
The other disciples proved they have not learned this day;after all they had a little vacation to spend with their far away families, but Freedon learned from the very first moment he set foot on the Ossus's training centre.
As he blushed, the class was asked another question by Master Baas's hologram,
"What are the consequences of the Great Hyperspace War waged by lord Naga Sadow?"
The hologram was looking around for other padawans to answer too, but none of them raised their hands eager to offer an answer regarding the hologram's question; Baas's hologram once again picked Freedon Nadd to response back,
"Could you tell us, Freedon Nadd?"
"Knowing that the luck of war had turned against the Sith Lord Naga Sadow, the lord left his embattled forces to the leadership of Gav Daragon, and aboard his flagship Corsair lord Sadow wanted to destroy the nearby star. Sickened by Sadow's betrayal, Gav turned against the Dark Lord. Gav Daragon sent the hyperspace coordinates of the Sith Empire to Empress Teta, and warned her to leave the system just before lord Sadow made Primus Goluud to go supernova, destroying his meditation sphere, and Gav along with it."
Freedon Nadd continued to show more of his newfound knowledge to impress everyone around him, especially the Jedi Master Melok Saz,
"At the end of the Great Hyperspace War, Grand Master Odan-Urr inspired by Ooroo's death, the Grand Master founded the Great Library upon the planet Ossus. The Great Library includes even a Sith holocron that our Grand Master Odan-Urr had found on a derelict Sith ship near Koros Major. Over the centuries, Ossus had become the Republic's prime Jedi library, archive, and academy.
Due to Empress Teta's bravery and tactical brilliance during the war, the people of Koros honored her by renaming their star system after her."
"Another correct answer, Nadd. Maybe you will become one day the order's greatest historian."
Freedon bowed in reverence, but he stated otherwise,
"No, I won't become a historian, that's not my dream, I don't like reading history while other people are making it. I want to become a Master that will learn and control all of the Jedi powers."
Master Vodo-Siosk Baas's holographic manifestation slowly made gone its presence, allowing the Grand Master Odan-Urr's holografic representation to reveal itself.
Though the hologram of Master Vodo-Siosk Baas was testing day by day the padawans's informations of galactic history and lightsaber combat, the Grand Master Odan-Urr's hologram was analyzing their knowledge regarding the principles of the Jedi, both of the Masters's holograms storing in the Jedisilum's core what the students have learned so far and showing to the Jedi Masters if their students were worthy or not worthy to be Jedi in the near future.
Odan-Urr's hologram appeared before the padawans's eyes asking them about the principles of their order,
"What are the key components of Jedi?"
A skinny yellow male Zabrak student dressed in the typical brown robe and white kimono, raised his hand wanting to answer; Freedon wanted to affirm his newfound knowledge, but an alien raised his hand before he could raise his own. Nadd was angry with the Zabrak for a short moment, but calmed down; that is what he learned from the book he studied yesterday.
"Tell us then, padawan Yumil Med'ost."
Yumil stood up in respect for the Jedi Master that was watching them, his classmates, and for Odan-Urr's holographic presence,
"A Jedi must not choose the dark side, no matter of the reasons. There are no means that can justify our turning to the dark side of the Force."
Odan-Urr's holographic manifestation greeted the boy,
"Indeed, padawan Med'ost."
Something else to tell us, young Med'ost?", the hologram Odan-Urr's lights were illuminating the huge classroom.
Nadd raised his hand, but the hologram seemed to not notice his presence;Freedon was angry, he was about to explode inside of him. He wondered why, why the hologram of Master Odan-Urr was not trying to pick him to offer the classroom the answer.
Freedon wanted to take advantage of the situation and was about to response,
"Mas-", but his other classmate did not finish talking.
"A Jedi needs to feel no emotion, for our emotions can lead us to the dark, and once we're immersed into the dark side, there's no turning back."
"In truth, you are speaking right."
Freedon Nadd started to lose his temper, of course not being the type of person to explode suddenly, but he felt the need to affirm himself, and he would have done it if he wouldn't have answered to the next question coming from Master Odan-Urr's hologram.
"Why does a Jedi fall to the dark side of the Force, and can you describe an example?"
Freedon raised his hand and the hologram chose him,
"So-", but suddenly another padawan raised the hand, Anub Leq-Qkeshla--a female from the Umbaran species.
"A Jedi falls to the dark side because of their selfishness, greed, thirst for power, for knowledge, or revenge."
"Also because if they think they're superior in comparision to their peers."
The hologram added another question to Anub,
"And which is the most common trait of a Jedi that falls to the dark side of the Force, dear Leq-Qkeshla?"
"If you ask me, Grand Master, I think is four-selfishness, power, and the idea of superiority."
The hologram wanted to pick another student to answer another of his question, but Anub had a last word,
"If I may speak-"
Odan-Urr's hologram agreed by nodding and pointing at her,
"Before coming to my classes, I wrote a poem, may I tell it?"
The Grand Master Odan-Urr was an history lover, a scholar, a philosopher-he loved the art, for him the art had no equal, for him the art meant life, and for him, the life was art. And the Grand Master's hobbies were introduced into the Jedisilum's matrix as well.
"You have my permission young lady."
The young Umbaran girl placed her notebook on her wooden table and began to recite,
"We are all Jedi, servants of light, but let's not forget that we are not completely bright,
In truth we are the peace's and justice's protectors, yet let's remember that for power there shall always be traitors
Even as Jedi, we are still mere beings, sensitive to the dark side's intoxicating bliss
With superiority, we should not look toward others for no one has a perfect prowess
There are dark orders, indeed, they will try to seduce us
But we must resist their dark side call
The Sith might be the embodiment of the dark side
But let's not forget that the Sith were once Jedi
And this could tell us, that the Jedi. . .
The Jedi who fall are the most dangerous of all."
Freedon together with his other classmates were shocked by her Jedi poem, and they clapped, but Freedon. . .Freedon grew frustrated. He wanted the students to clap for him, not for another one.
Odan-Urr's holographic manifestation was highly impressed by the Umbaran's poetry and decided to give her a very special present,
"Beautiful, dear padawan Anub Leq-Qkeshla. In truth, again you are right, no matter the age and experience, everyone is subjected to the corrupting power of the dark side."
"Thank you, Grand Master.", she added.
"Keep it going, one day you might become the future Grand Jedi Master."
"Until that day comes, I must train myself to become not just a more skilled Jedi, but more heartfelt and wiser too."
"Indeed, padawan Leq-Qkeshla. . .indeed."
The Grand Master had one final question for the disciples before disappearing out of their sight in the Jedisilium’s core,
“How can one be redeemed, or can they be?”
Freedon was under a lot of pressure, like he was giving a paperwork, and the hologram of Odan-Urr seemed to not even notice his presence; then he affirmed himself by raising his hand, ready to yell if he needed to,
“Master Odan-Urr with all the respect, but why didn’t you notice me?”, Freedon frowned his eyebrows.
“I have learned a few things from one of your books, even three holorecorders. Why won’t you pay me any attention?”
It happened, whether by faith or not, that Anub was sitting next to him; she was deranged by her new classmate’s attitude despite what he learned the other day. That was not the proper way how a Jedi should act, and she knew it,
“Nadd, you have to understand that this place is not just about you, there are others who need to answer, too.”
He was angry with her , sufficiently to explode before his classmates in anger and swore the pale alien, but if he ever wished to be a true Jedi he was aware he had to control his emotions, at least to leave a good impression for Master Saz; however, this did not resolve him to keep his words in check,
“So you think I am stupid!?”
“Is that it?”
Anub was studying the Jedi ways before Freedon arrived here, she knew and understood how a real Jedi behaves; she did not want a fight with all the classroom watching, she did not desire one at all; Anub was a self-disciplined person, eager to help, eager to listen.
“Nadd, none here says you’re stupid, you are clearly a smart man who, I believe, he puts the knowledge above anything in his life. The Masters have already spoken about your potential in the Force when you arrived on Ossus.”, she leaned her fragile fingers on his right shoulder.
“But, but-“, apparently the young Umbaran female left him without any words.
As she put her little gray fingers on his shoulder trying to explain to him some things he would not want to learn from her, with a sudden move, filled with anger, and hatred; a hatred for the Umbaran pirate that was responsible for his parents’s death, he yelled at her,
“Back off, bastard alien!”, Nadd took her hand off him with a trend of using his physical strength.
