Christmas Eve, New York City...
Part 1
Prodigy and Goliath
"Hello kids!"
Prodigy jumped onto the stage causing it to buckle beneath his weight. For a second he wondered what he was doing there... until he realized Iron Man had put him up to it.
"It'll improve the public's opinion of us." He said. "The kids will love it!"
Prodigy waited for a round of applause. He received none... he was currently wearing a Santa Claus costume over his regular armored costume... he looked ridiculous. However! He didn't look as ridiculous as his friend.
"Why don't you welcome Santa's little helper onto the stage?!" The announcer yelled as Goliath dressed in an elf costume marched up the side. Prodigy stared at him in silence as he waited for Goliath to say his line.
"...Merry Christmas Kids!!" Goliath said with a forced smile.

"I swear.... humbug..." Goliath said as he pulled his elf hat off.
"Ah forget about it." Prodigy said as he reattached his cape to his neck. "The kid's... probably hated it..."
"Stark's not making me do a thing like that ever again."
"Well he wanted to make a good impression! At least he didn't ask Night Thrasher!"
The Announcer from earlier walked up to the two heroes as he held his hand out for them to shake.
"Thanks for turning up guys." He said as Prodigy shook his hand.
"Oh thanks for having us!" Prodigy said as the announcer turned to Goliath.
"Well good luck with your New Avengers thing."
Goliath frowned. "We're the New WARRIORS. Didn't you ask for us?"
The announcer laughed nervously.
"Well... we asked Spider-Man first... in fact we told the kids about it straight away. He said no... so then we asked Iron Man and he said he had the perfect people for the job."
An awkward silence followed.
"Time to go kick Stark's ass!" Prodigy yelled as he pushed past the announcer and walked out into the New York street.

Justice and Firestar (and Miriam Sharpe)
"I hate you Vance..." Firestar muttered as she threw a flaming ball of fire towards the rooftop below.
"YOU PUNKS ARE STUPID OF YOU THINK YOU'RE GONNA STOP-"
"His name's the Whirlwind. He's a C-Lister." Miriam Sharpe said through her mic.
"Hate me?!" Justice yelled. "Why? What have I,,,?"
"Guys? Justice? Firest-"
"We just spent 5 hours getting all those stinking presents ready! I give you ONE job! ONE! Carry the boxes. And what do you do first sign of trouble? YOU DROP THEM!" Firestar screamed in rage as she blasted fire directly into Whirlwind's spinning cyclone.
"Look! We can always go back and get them!"
"Wow... are you guys even paying attention to me?" Whirlwind asked as he stopped spinning.
"It's NEW YORK! On CHRISTMAS EVE!" Firestar yelled as she flew towards Justice. "I'M PRETTY SURE SOMEONE'S GOING TO STEAL IT! Do you know how much Prodigy's Archie Collection cost?!"
"guys?"
"WE'RE WORKING FOR TONY STARK! I'M PRETTY SURE WE'LL HAVE ENOUGH TO BUY ANOTHER ONE!"
"Guys?"
"WHY DON'T Y-"
"GUYS!! Whirlwind. Escaping. GO CATCH HIM!!"
Justice opened his mouth to speak before sighing and flying in Whirlwind's general direction.
"SO YOU SORTED OUT YOUR DIFFERENCES?!" Whirlwind yelled.
"Why are you shouting?"
Whirlwind stopped spinning and started to pant for breath.
"You try talking over a cyclone..."
Justice flew directly towards Whirlwind and aimed to tackle his legs. Whirlwind started to spin and whacked Justice in the face with his elbow.
"Sorry loser! You're too slow!"
Justice wiped his nose clean of blood as he started to stand up.
"Oh?! Ready for round two?!"
"You're fast. How fast are you when you can't move?" Justice asked as he levitated Whirlwind off the floor.
"Aw crap..."
Firestar flew above Justice's head as she fired a blast of heat directly into Whirlwind's chest...

"So... are you two done bickering now?" Sharpe asked.
Justice picked his boxes up off the ground.
"Ms Sharpe, you're new here so take my advice... never mess with Firestar and Christmas preparation..."
Firestar smiled as she flew into the air carrying her shopping bags.
"...Advice taken."
