Welcome to Mashed Up Origins!
This is an experiment of mine that I was going to make into a group, but with the chaos that a group can bring I decided to go it alone. It’s short, sweet and basically a quick origin where one hero gets anothers origin, something to make you go “I’d like to see that!”

“You are more than qualified Dr Banner,” said Dr Myron Wilburn as he escorted Bruce through the facilities of Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S “But after the…incident with those four people at the gamma testing range, well…”
“Incident,” Bruce shook his head “That’s very diplomatic Dr Milburn. What it was, was a tragedy! Now there’s four angry colour coded behemoths bouncing around New Mexico.”
“So unfortunately even though the position is available and you’re the best person for the job, the board has put a big red cross through your name.” Dr Milburn said honestly. “Takes a lifetime to build a reputation, and seconds to destroy one!”
“Even when it’s not my fault.” Bruce shrugged and held out his hand “Well thank you for at least giving me the time of day.”
Dr Milburn smiled and shook his hand, “Something will turn up. Teaching is an excellent vocation.”
Bruce went to speak when four men in yellow uniforms and helmets stepped into the corridor. “Stay where you are Dr Milburn!”
Myron grabbed Bruce’s arm and shrieked “AIM!”
“I thought they were a rumour,” said Bruce as he and Myron backed away.
“Advanced Idea Mechanics are a terr…” Myron’s sentence was cut off by a laser blast that narrowly missed his face.
“I SAID STAY THERE!”
Myron and Bruce ran away but their exit was blocked by more yellow suited soldiers at the other end of the corridor. Myron swiped his card at a door “Quick in here!”
They tumbled into the room amid a barrage of lasers and bullets. Bruce looked around at the room that had nothing in it but a bench with two odd bracelets sitting on it.
“Well this is merely delaying the inevitable!” muttered Bruce as he pushed his glasses up. He pulled out his phone to see that not only was there no signal but the screen had static on it like an old television.
“T-they mu…” Myron coughed and Bruce saw the bullet wound. He ripped off the sleeve on his shirt to attempt to make a bandage as Dr Milburn slumped in a heap, blood leaking from his stomach.
“What are those things on the table?” asked Bruce as lay Dr Milburn on the floor.
“S-s-some sort of alien…alien thing.” Dr Milburn gasped and rolled onto his side to attempt to ease the pain “Wesley put them on and they…they incinerated him. S-same with Wendell.”
Bruce looked at the bracelets as sparks began burning through the door to the room. He stood and slid them onto his wrists. Without Bruce doing anything they ominously locked onto him with an audible click. Bruce’s eyes rolled back in his head. In his mind’s eye he saw a domed city on a far away planet and a floating green head thing that looked like a cabbage Abraham Lincoln with a massive extra eye.
The door burst open and half a dozen AIM soldiers filled the room, guns pointing at Bruce Banner who stood in an energy nimbus staring blankly at the ceiling.
“He has the device!” yelled one.
Bruce came to and looked at the men in yellow costumes with irregular helmets “How do you see in those things?”
“KILL HIM!”
Instinctively Bruce put his hands up and a bubble formed around himself and Dr Milburn. Bruce was a little shocked but took in his stride. “Wow! First things first, let’s get you some help Dr Milburn.”
He saw a medical crash cart in his mind and it formed out of yellow energy, surrounding Dr Milburn and stabilising him. The AIM soldiers kept firing to no avail. Bruce looked at the soldiers, “You can either give up now,” he said as he wriggled his fingers “Or…”
“AIM NEVER SURRENDERS!”
Bruce smiled and formed a battle suit around himself like something from a Japanese cartoon “Looks like you choose option smash.”
