Marvel Iron Age: General Falcon Helfitta #2

General Falcon Helfitta sat in the transport as it rocketed towards New York. He flipped through his holo-pad as he crunched on another blanket lolly. Several updates bounced across his feed, he opened up an alert from a Turkish Iron Hall.

“Seems someone is going to take the Iron Bull by the horns,” muttered Falcon as he scrolled through the live feed watching mutants rip into Sentinels “Seems Khalaf* has his work cut out for him…good!” Falcon remember the big man from Turkey from the general assemblies, each time more machine than man. Falcon looked at his bionic hand and noted the irony.

An update from Admiral MacKenzie** and his fool quest to find that mutant shark roaming the seas. Falcon dragged it to the trash. He looked at the next link from General Beyonce Hwjang. His brow furrowed as he hovered over it before dragging it straight to the trashcan and moving to the next one. As he read the title his teeth clenched: Ebony O2.

“You are an idiot Sonia!” snarled Falcon quietly as he took the holo-pad in his bionic hand and crushed it into chunks.

New York Iron Hall

Falcon stood beside Iron Claw as the Supreme Commander yelled like a maniac, pacing back and forth like a mental patient. Falcon was finding it harder and harder to care. This war was dragging, everyday a new conflict, a new surprise. Monster, demons, spiders, mutants, another sighting of the blasted shark**, cities exploding…it was constant chaos. The regime needed a sane steady hand.

“…tening to me General?”

Falcon snapped back from his daydreaming as the Supreme Commander glared at him “Yes sir!”

Don’t lie to me Falcon!

The General shook his head as his superior entered his mind. He didn’t panic, that would give away the dangerous game he was playing.

The shark…

“Yes sir. Admiral MacKenzie spotted the thing off the west coast of Australia.” replied Falcon.

The Supreme Commander scoffed out loud “You will transfer from Mexifornia to New York effective immediately Falcon”

“Very good sir!” he fired off a salute.

The Supreme Commander looked silently into Falcon’s eyes before turning on his heels and leaving the room. Iron Claw fell in behind him when Falcon grabbed his arm. The adamantium coated killer looked at the offending hand with utter disgust.

“A word” said Falcon as he watched the Commander leave.

Iron Claw shrugged him off “What do want General?”

“Is there any reason that you are hogging all the adamantium?”

“What?” the eerie metallic voice rumbled across his shark-like teeth.

“We are fighting a war yes? Adamantium forged into useful things like tanks or bullets could win this war, but instead it coats your frame for what exact purpose, asides from killing children dressed as Daredevil*?”

The large Checyhen monster glared at the most powerful human in the Iron Army with his robotic eye “I live to protect the Supreme Com…”

“You are dismissed” snapped Falcon waving his hand. Iron Claw began to speak when Falcon erupted “I said DIS! MISSED! Or did your eardrums get coated also preventing you from FOLLOWING ORDERS!” Iron Claw seethed with rage as he breathed on the General. Falcon held his gaze as his hands clenched into tight fists “Your move animal”

Iron Claw smiled “You live because my master deems it so. Soon…” and then shoved the General backwards “That will change!”With that he left the room to follow his master. Falcon wiped his mouth before heading to the desk.

“GET ME MAJOR MIGUEL GONAZLITO**!” he roared into the holo-comm “NOW!!”

Falcon gripped the desk as he waited to be patched through noticing his left hand was indenting the desk with his bionic fingers. Falcon smiled and continued to deliberately gouge the stone like a bird sharpening its talons.

Cool, I like Falcon as a subversive.

Jeeze our Sonia is becoming a pain in the stark, huh? Falcon is becoming more and more treasonous. With good reason. Time has changed from when he'd vaporize a guy for even considering the things he was doing.

@joshmightbe: Well not totally but he's slowly getting the end of his tether.

He is like Irwin Rommel to Stryfe's Hitler, Rommel was a soldier, a hero and respected by friend & foe...Hitler was a nutbag! So eventually Rommel gave the okay on Operation Valkyrie (it wasn't all his idea but he did agree to it and Hitler's removal...and paid the price for it later)

To badly quote that quote "You either a die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain". It's happening to Carol, its happening to Falcon. Also the "road to hell is paved with good intentions"

Falcon is what happens when you push a loyal servant too far, they don't snap they begin engineering your downfall

@batkevin74: But sometimes good intentions aren't enough. I have a feeling Stryfe's end is near but whoever replaces him is going to be worse.

@batkevin74: Hmm but how long can he hold onto power with so many rivals and enemies

@impurestcheese: Ask Stryfe aka the Chairman aka Supreme Commander, he's been doing it for 200yrs! :)

@batkevin74: Yeah but he can't hold onto power forever. It's a physical impossibility according to the laws of physics

@batkevin74: @impurestcheese: One thing we should all consider is that when the uniting force that Stryfe has become is removed there is going to be a bit of a power vacuum and there's no telling if people on Stryfe's side will automatically side with his replacement. That's been Zemo's whole reason behind his goal of removing Stryfe, this Zemo for all intents and purposes is an arms dealer and he knows nothing sells weapons as well as a power struggle.

I love how y'all discuss less the story, and more the ramifications of the story. It's like a mini writing summit every chapter.
