Thunderbolts Transport, Nearing Sari, China
Dr. Prince sits in his private cabin going through some files when he notices a file folder sitting off to the side. He reaches over and flips it open to reveal a note and a small black envelope. The note read, 'Inside is the end of all your Earthly problem.'
He picked it up and reached for a letter opener more out of curiosity than anything else but before he could open it an assistant came in, "We'll be landing in 15, Sir."
He dropped the envelope on his desk and went off to do a few pre-mission diagnostics.
Sari, China
General Hjwang answered her comm to hear a panicked Captain, "Its the War god, he's gone berserk."
She furrowed her brow, "And his soldiers?"
"He's got a few hundred Chechyen mutants that are following his lead, we need back up."
She looked over as she heard the transport land, "Its on the way."
5 miles North of the Sari/ DMZ border
The Iron army had been caught completely off guard by the sudden southward push from the New Latverians. They sent out several battalions to stop their progress and were met by a force personally led by a furious War god. His army had seen what the Iron soldiers had done to his people on a feed sent from Shield. They watched Ares stare helplessly as his people were wiped out in an instant.
His rage seemed to infect his men like a virus. Within hours he'd mobilized a raiding party and headed south. When the first battalion arrived they were slaughtered with a ferocity surprising even the hardened Chechyen soldiers of Adder's army. When Ares met his first Iron soldier he struck off his head with such force it killed the man next to him on impact. As his soldiers marched on Ares cut through the Iron army ranks like a lawn mower. blood and metal was strewn across the ground as Ares heard the Captain begging for help. As the man dropped the comm the war god impaled him with a sword then knocked him off his blade with the butt of his ax.
It seemed a route for quite sometime until a large metal hand caught Ares by the wrist. Ares turned to see Thunder and tried to punch him but was hurled away. The rest of the Thunderbolts then landed on the field as Ares glared up at Thunder, "I don't care how strong you are, you and all who follow that coward in Chicago have signed your death warrants."
Thunder then attempted to stomp Ares but his leg was caught and the god threw him to the ground. Ares then grabbed his ax and swung for his head but was struck away by an adamantine mace. As Ares saw it his rage doubled, "Where did you get that?"
Thunder didn't answer, he turned to strike again. Ares slammed his shoulder into Thunder's mid section lifting him up and slamming him into the ground and yanking the mace away, "You have no right to touch this."
Thunder brought his foot up and kicked Ares in the face and grabbed the mace before swatting the war god down. Ares then took up his ax and swung it for Thunder's neck. He dodged but the edge of the blade caught his face plate tearing it free. Ares then spun his ax around for another swing. The ax blade stopped less than an inch from Thunder's face. Ares looked stunned.
Thunder took advantage of the distraction and slammed his fist into Ares chest sending him flying several yards. Thunder then launched into the air and landed just beside Ares and raised his mace. Ares looked up, "Hercules, Stop."
The mace stopped an inch from crushing Ares skull. The two Olympians looked into each other's eyes for a second. Thunder was frozen where he stood as Ares pulled himself up.
Sari base camp
Dr. Prince glares at the monitor, "What the stark is Thunder doing."
The soldier manning the monitor shrugged," He just froze up."
Prince sighed, "What's wrong?"
The soldier pulled up Thunder's status, "Nothing, other than his face plate he's undamaged."
