Marvel Genesis: Winter Wolverine, Chapter 24- The Hunted, Part 3
After World War 2 ended, Sam Petrovitch found himself, lying down on the bed. Professor Rodchenko stood there, besides him and checked his vital signs. Eventually, Sam would become a perfect Winter Soldier some day. But it turned out to be a failure.
A man who wore a black suit, stood behind the glass window. He watched the events, unfolding in front of him. He didn't think he could start the Soviet X program with the help of his friends. After all, the Russian government needed a version of Project X, one that could turn the tides of incoming wars. The US President was worried about these so-called experiments, and demanded to make a stop to it. But the Russian president offered a chance to willingly turn ordinary men into secret weapons of war. In case if the others wars came to fruition. Not only that, they could also become perfect assassins to eliminate enemy threats from across the globe. Therefore, the US president reluctantly agreed with the plan to continue the experiments.
Unfortunately for Sam Petrovitch, he didn't have what it takes to be a fine Winter Soldier. Instead, he became a sleeper agent, as much as the likes of Ivan Romanoff. At this point, young Natasha Romanoff was currently being trained by the high-ranking officers of the Red Room, a training facility, which was designed to turn these Russian soldiers into dangerous assassins.
Sam could feel the pain alright. He had tried numerous occasions of becoming one of the best Winter Soldiers that Soviet X had to offer. However, Bucky Barnes had been chosen to become the test subject. Sam thought, An American? What are these fools thinking? He stared at the glass window, and wondered what the man thought of choosing an American soldier, and then turning him into a cold-blooded assassin.
"You will be fine, Sam," Professor Rodchenko said. "But I am afraid you cannot become my test subject for the Winter Soldier Project. I am sorry." Sam sighed. He had no other choice. But it was a good thing that Soviet X decided to keep him for whatever it was necessary to handle top-secret assignments.
As for the man who stood behind the window, he smiled.

Remy LeBeau had the notion that his friend, Derek made an encounter with the Russian sleeper agent. But he didn't think it would be him. After all, one of his former friends in the Thieves Guild, also had an encounter with him, when he tried to steal top-secret information from the H.A.M.M.E.R. organization. Remy went towards the bedroom, where he noticed his friend, talking to someone else on the phone. Usually, he didn't listen to Derek's conversations. It wasn't that he kept secrets from the mutant thief. But it sounded like a serious conversation alright.
"Are you sure?" Derek said almost out loud in his room. "Okay, I'll be right there." He ended the call.
"Everything alright?" Remy said as he opened the door slowly.
"Remy?" Derek said, turning around. "How long you've been here?"
"Quite a while. Wanna tell me what's it about?"
Derek sighed. "You know the guy who sells expensive items?"
"Yeah. I know him."
"Yeah. He just got word that his buyer had been killed by a guy. Couldn't tell who it was. But he was Russian, according to an eye-witness."
"Russian?"
"Yeah."
"Hmm..." Remy thought, wondering about the Russian, who had sex with his partner. "You don't think it was him?"
"Whom are you talking about?"
"The man who had sex with you, and didn't tell his name."
"Well... he was mysterious. So yeah, he didn't tell me $h!t. But it doesn't mean he was the same guy. Could be someone different for all I know. What are you getting at?"
Remy thought about it for a while. He would have to get to the bottom of this investigation. For all he knew, this mysterious Russian could cause a lot of trouble. The mutant thief said, "Let's go to New York and find out."
Derek looked surprised. "Are you serious? You and me?"
"Yeah. Time to move out of the couch, and do something for a change."

I did not think it was Sam Petrovitch would be here. Most likely, he was also sent on a mission to kill me. I do hope that is not the case. But it turns out that he looked serious, in tryin' to kill me, as much as possible.
Remy kept throwin' the cards at 'em. But the sleeper agents moved fast like cheetahs. They were kinda like Mikel Bulgakov if ya ask me.
Sam hit me on the face. I hit him back. Then he managed to hold my leg, and then whack me on the head.
"UH!" I said, falling down on the ground. Remy used his Bo-Staff to hit 'em anyway he can. But it looked like he was havin' a tough time. He quickly slapped a card at the face of Alex Gustav. Then he charged it.
BOOM!
Great! I ran away from the blast before it hit me. It was like a flash of light, which almost blinded my eyes. Sam looked back, and noticed that his poor friend's head got blasted off.
"Okay, Sam," I said. "It is time to end this." Sam looked back at me and fired.
BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! The bullets deflected my cyborg arm, as I ran towards him. I slammed him, and took away his gun. Then I punched him on the gut.
The guy was tough alright. But he managed to hit my gr*** that hard. It hurt like hell. But I was able to kick his face. Blood poured out from the bottom of his lips. Then I hit him again.
I unleashed my right, adamantium claws, and stabbed him on the chest. Sam looked at me fer a while, and then closed his eyes.
"Well... that was easy," Remy said.
"It will not be easy the next time," I said. "We still have a job to do." Remy nodded and looked serious fer the first time. Somethin' tells me that he must have had a pretty good idea of whom he was dealin' with. Yes, tell me about it.
To be continued in Marvel Genesis: Winter Wolverine, Chapter 25- The Hunted, Part 4.
