Ok, I realized as soon as I posted it that people might have issues with where the new chapters start out so I'm gonna start putting headers. Quick catchup, Babs and Cassie convinced Oliver Queen to spot them startup capital for a Martial Arts gym. With a few minor strings, and mostly thanks to Babs :) Now, it's back in the saddle for Cassie.

Gotham City Harbor District, Night

The night time air was fresh with recently fallen rain. The two Bat sisters stood overlooking the harbor, the spot for their investigation of the evening on the roof of the Gotham Port Authority. Batgirl's cape hangs stoically over her shoulders as Black Bat adjusts her lucky scarf. As Black Bat gazes at Batgirl, the latter says,"My contact informed me there's been business here after hours. Usually Penguin runs the docks, his weapons shipments coming in by freight."

Black Bat nods, as she listens to Batgirl continue her briefing, she begins to eye over the harbor with her night vision. She's looking for her paths around, thinking where she can go with the least visibility and the sturdiest footing. It isn't a good place for swinging by grapple for the most part, so she would be relying on acrobatics for a lot of the investigating. So little had changed from when she was here last, that strikes her right off. The grapple makes noise anyway, this could be fun.

Finishing her report a minute later, Batgirl inquires,"So, shall we?" Black Bat taps off her nightvision with a finger to the side of her helmet-mask, preferring not to make a crutch of it. She nods then, and the two of them activate their belt transponders and hop from the roof top. Batgirl would scurry around one side of the harbor while Black Bat would move around the other and the plan was to meet at the docks were a freighter was presently sitting.

Black Bat, known to Batgirl personally as Cassandra or Cassie, had a relatively easy go of it. A few workers were lingering around smoking something that wasn't tobacco and discussing their day but nothing suspicious. They didn't look functional enough to reliably handle any sort of shipments, legal or otherwise. She couldn't care less about them and their idea of 'R&R'.

Batgirl, on the other hand, would find something going on as she nears the docks. A couple unsavory types who, by their leather chaps and matching vest logos, didn't seem to belong were talking with a man decked out in overalls with a white hardhat. Batgirl, known to Cassandra personally as Barbara, would maneuver overhead to find a better earshot. Her outfit was more conventional than Black Bat's in that it has fewer built in features. She has her tech gadgets, but she's less comfortable with added weight than Cass so hers is not much heavier than Robin's. She doesn't have an option to listen in from afar, and as quiet as the docks are apart from the surf, it would definitely have come in handy but being neither here nor there she does manage to creep in close being trained by the best like she was.

Evesdropping in on their conversation, she figures out soon enough that what she's stumbled in on was a drug shipment rather than arms. Penguin would likely not mind at all if they took this little operation down, him being a criminal of the oldschool sort and knowing exactly what side of the toast he likes his butter on. She cups a palm over her mouth as she whispers,"Come to my position, we've got something."

Black Bat hears her loud and clear. Darting to a wall in her alleyway she bounds up it then springs to the other side and off again reaching the relatively low rooftop of the storage building she's by at that moment. Darting silently in the direction of her friend, which she knows from the wonderful heads up display in her helmet, she makes good time and is there in minutes free running masterfully across the harbor. She was glad for the minutes she'd memorized the lay out of this place, which had served to jog her memory from times past she'd lurked here under similar circumstances.

The two are teamed up just in time for the conclusion of the deal, the criminal dockworker escorting the two bikers in and presumably to where their crate is after receiving his up front pay. Around the corner lingering is a third man with a submachine gun, Black Bat notices on her way. She whispers,"Here," to indicate she's arrived and announces with a mirthful grin,"Let's do this..." as she dives down to handle the trio. Her cape spreads wide to slow her drop and widen the psychological impact of her sudden arrival as she slams into one of the bikers.

Black Bat instinctively knows what to do, dropping down herself with considerably more force into the machine gunner, driving him to the ground before punching him twice in the back of the head to make sure he's out. Springing to her feet, she kicks the gun away before darting to Batgirl's aid as she capably handles the group at hand.

Batgirl bounds from the biker she knocks out, slamming his face to the pavement once he's grounded to ensure he stays down. Springing to the other biker before he's even able to process what's happened, she grabs hold of him and plows him to a wall where drives a knee into groin before checking him in the jaw with a reinforced knuckle. As she does this, Black Bat spears into the dockworker. Once he's down, she menaces him with a fist ready to drive down in his face, uttering simply,"Talk."

"What do you want me to say?!" He sputters, panicking on the ground beneath Black Bat.

"How about who you're running for?" suggests the other girl, walking to the two of them with folded arms.

"I don't know!" He exclaims, resulting in Black Bat raising her fist a little more as she intones,"Liar."

"Easy there, I think he's about to wet himself," Says Batgirl with an easy grin before continuing a moment later,"You can give us the name of who put you up to this."

"I've got a family, he'll kill them if I say anything!" Black Bat considers that noting a gold ring on his finger as she does, then cold clocks him. She rises to her feet a beat later as Batgirl huffs,"You didn't need to do that."

"Family. Use one of them," She reaches down to grab up one of the bikers, dragging him over to the other to tie them together,"Call Gordon." She says simply before adding,"Third over there. He'll talk, odd man out." Barbara nods to the sensibility of this course reluctantly, jogging lightly over to the goon while Cass drags the poor sap around the corner, sitting him up against the wall and taking the money he'd gotten out of his pocket. She carries it over then to put it back in one of the biker's pockets as if he'd never gotten it. If he got in trouble, it wouldn't be because of a bribe they could prove. Maybe he'd learn from this, maybe not.

About fifteen minutes later, the cops arrive on the scene to clean up. The duo has their victim of choice atop a rooftop in eyeshot bound and leaned up against rooftop doorway coming to as they look down with arms folded,"Well, hello there sleeping beauty." Batgirl grins down at him as Black Bat just stares down from behind the face of her helmet. The man at their feet is more than a little nervous as he stutters,"Wh-what'd'you want..."

Black Bat intones in her usual way,"Talk." Batgirl adds in elaboration,"What were you bringing in?"

"I can't tell you, I'm a dead man already for this screw up!" That earns him a cuff upside the back of his head then a handful of his hair grabbed to yank his head back by Black Bat as Batgirl chimes,"If you're a deadman than it doesn't matter if you tell us."

"Heroin, our boss is bringing it in from Kuwait, says he's got a big thing going down..." Batgirl cuts him off, pressuring him as she leans down over him,"Who's the boss?" Black Bat keeps him on point by not letting go of her grip on his hair, keeping his face focused on Batgirl's.

"The Russian, please, Petrovo, Petrovich, I can never get his name right, just let me go!" He pleads with them, Black Bat just inquires in her usual calm way,"Gordon?"

It's Batgirl's turn to knock out an interrogated suspect, she expertly checks him and rightens up as she says,"Yeah. Let's carry him down and then let them know they've got another present." Black Bat nods to that, and they haul him down to leave the incapacitated gunman with his disabled firearm next to him for the cops before moving off to their cafe' to begin researching one drugrunner they'd heard of named Petrov.

@jamiewolfe7: While the story is very interesting I would recommend checking the dialouge. While the way you've written it isn't wrong, it does work against the tense of the story.

For example while you've written; Black Bat intones in her usual way,"Talk." Batgirl adds in elaboration,"What were you bringing in?"

It would be much better like this: "Talk!" Blackbat intones in her regular way.

"What were you bringing in?" Batgirl adds in an attempt to elaborate on her partner's instructions.

One last thing, it's important to seperate the dialogue of different speakers even if they are immediately talking one after another
