“Do you really love me?” he asked through the abyss/
After giving her their last kiss, hoping she would not miss/
Once he handed her the gun, the sun began to drown/
Behind the city’s skyline, she looked divine with her frown/
With her blue eyes like the skies, she felt that this was not fair/
She tried not to cry, like the rain in the sky she tried to not care/
She tried to not swear through her teeth, tried to stop breathing/
Then shook her head instead, screamed out “You are not leaving!”/
As he began walking away, back to his brightest day ever/
When he would not dare hurt her, but never say never/
Some love just isn’t forever, the gun began to gain weight/
They would never plan straight, but now it’s too late/
And the deepest hate begins to destroy her soul mate/
He can relate to the trait, such are the ways of fate/
”No… I will not…” She didn’t want him to get shot/
But the governments would have never forgot/
”You must put trust into the gun and shoot!”/
His voice and her tears raced in pursuit/
”I can’t kill you… We can still run/”
She would have never thought to kill him with the gun/
”They already know about us, so destroy,
Before they get impatient and station out their convoy”/
You see the thing is that he was a spy/
And so was she, that they couldn’t deny/
But he spied for the government that she opposed/
He had no idea of such when he proposed/
But when they realized the ugly truth beneath their dreams/
They decided to meet behind this booth to end the schemes/
To end the pain before the angry rain of bigger men/
Would piece by piece, release the fury, consuming them/
”Kill me now to have a chance to redeem yourself/
Who knows, they might even give you the seen wealth/”
So she swallowed hard counting the odds against them/
Her insides knew no rest, just the way her sense been/
She finally pulled the trigger… She was like an equation, he could never solve her/
”We can go out together…” Her words endeavored as she pulled her revolver/
Tossing it into his hands, she stands up, guns are loaded/
They stand back to back, a snipers attack, something exploded/
As the passerby’s turn into guys from FBIs/
Their cries are silent as the place gets violent, beneath the skies/
Beneath the bright lights, they never could pick the right fights/
Now love’s might is crumpling beneath the dark nights/
Gunshots spear through the fear, she tears once more/
He jumps to stop the bullet that’s meant for her/
Then falls, but keeps on shooting/
His heart starts to beat faster, he keeps rooting/
For his beloved, last shells empty, his gun quiet/
He attempts to see her image through the riot/
As her colt, spits out and revolts his last magazine/
She could have seen this coming, what could have been/
Escapes both of their minds, as she kindly falls beside/
Reminding them both of Bonnie and Clyde, she cried/
Not because of their death, but because her last breath is filled with love/
In her final effort, her method was to grab his hands and fly above/
They closed their eyes without saying, praying Death may do them well/
So that history may have a story to inspire and tell/
About a match made in heaven that set the fires in hell/
