The Scrooge bit was an idea a friend of mine had years ago. We were writing a parody of the L.E.G. And one of the ideas was Scrooge being a necromancer. The idea for Dorthy came from the end of the book, when she crossed the dessert in a matter of minutes. Reverend Syn is just a swash buckling public domain character. Wanted someone "normal" as the leader. The Mad Gasser is like Spring heeled Jack, just some entity someomne "encountered" a long time ago.
