Two weeks after the events at the warehouse, Lex Eisenhardt is still a highly wanted man, but he has come into possession of a powerful, albeit flawed weapon. With the help of a treacherous woman named Terra, he and his people managed to steal the formula and synthesize the serum. However it wasn't perfect, and Lex was absolutely certain the woman was to blame. Unfortunately, she had escaped his custody with the help of two unknown Carriers. Lex however, was not overly concerned about her escape or her subsequent disappearance. He knew that he'd run into her again someday.
It was time now to begin the next phase of his plan. Lex stood up from his seated position behind his large desk in his dimly lit office. He walked over to a nearby window and took in the view. It wasn't as nice as his old one, but it was a sacrifice he had to make. A lot had been sacrificed in order to bring his plan to fruition, including his brief stint in the army, his relationships. All necessary sacrifices. Lex planned on creating an empire that would last forever, long after his death. He didn't seek global domination in the traditional sense, he just wanted the money/ And the power. That's why it was so vital to him to secure the serum and create new Carriers to be used as his soldiers.....or "employees" as he planned to call them in the media. A business empire that could cater to your every need. Legal, or illegal, and everything in between. He planned on providing security to governments and criminals alike. Weapons and private Carriers for everyone. Everyone who could afford it that is. He was in this for the money after all.
Now that Lex had the serum, and the ability to create new Carriers, all he needed were the clients. And he knew a couple of people who were itching to have such powerful weapons in their arsenal.
Later that same day, in the office of the local Macedonian Men's club
The Loup Garou was in rare form today. Nezim Zhivijik, chief enforcer for the Macedonians, was in severe danger of being killed. He threw an extremely powerful punch at the Loup's jaw, strong enough to put a fist sized dent in a steel wall, but The Loup just shrugged it off. And growled at the man that stood before him. Then he moved quickly and leaped into the air and grabbed Nezim by the throat and lifted him off his feet..and then slammed him into the ground. Repetitively. Blood began to stain and fill the cracks of the crater that was forming. Every time his poor Nezim's body connected with the floor, the wet sounds of labored breathing and breaking bones was heard. Finally, The Loup took pity on him and tossed him out of a nearby window.
Seconds later, Bone walks in and stands behind Marjan Manaskovski, the leader of the Macedonians.
"So, as we were saying. We don't think that you have adequate security in place. A man of your stature should have good people around him to take care of things like this. I mean, don't get me wrong, Nezim's an okay guy, but The Loup here just turned him into lunch meat. And he's still in his mostly human form." Bone says. He places a firm. threatening hand on Marjan's shoulder. "You need a guy like him on your team, making sure that you're safe. Who knows when a rampaging monster might burst through your office doors again? Think of today's events as a little....audition." Bone suggested. He removed his hand and headed towards the front door. "Also, keep in mind that my boss, Lex Hard is actually a very sensitive guy, doesn't handle rejection well. Hates the word 'no' even more. Just some food for thought."
Bone made it to the office door, what was left of it anyway, before Marjan stopped him. "Fine. We accept your offer. You give me a couple carriers to work for me for a year...on a trial basis. And then after that, we can work out something more long term."
Bone looked over his shoulder and smirked. "Of course. Mr. Hard will be pleased." Bone turned around and exited the destroyed office and pulled out his cellphone and hit number one on his speed dial.
"You'd better be calling with good news." The voice on the other end growled.
"Yes sir, I am. The Macedonian has agreed to our terms. Shall I have a couple of our new guys sent over here?" Bone asked.
"Of course. Move on down the list. Let's hope the rest of our potential clients can be persuaded to see things our way." Lex said. Then Bone heard a beep and he knew his boss had hung up. He stopped walking and turned around to call out to the Loup Garou.
"Hey, Loopy, we're leaving."
IN LEX'S OFFICE, AFTER THE INCIDENT WITH THE MACEDONIANS.
The intercom on Lex's phone buzzed and his secretary's voice was heard.
"Mr. Eisenhardt? The Councilwoman is here to see you." Lex moved to press the button to reply.
"Let her in. And hold all my calls until we're done. No disruptions." Lex instructed. He sat down in his chair and waited until his guest entered his office. She burst in with a flurry and sashayed her way over to his desk.
"This office isn't as nice as your old one, but then I guess having to uproot your entire illicit organization on such short notice probably didn't give your Realtor a lot to work with." Sarah Armand speculated.
"The state of my office is none of your concern. And besides, my people in the government are working on getting taken off that damn wanted list." Lex replied.
"Going to be pretty hard to do that." Sarah said. "The CBTF have a serious hard on for you right now. What with all the recently, uh, paroled inmates."
"They have no proof that was me. No one does." Lex stated calmly. "Besides, my troubles with the CBTF should be the least of your concerns." He added menacingly.
Sarah's entire demeanor changed. "And what, pray tell, do you mean by that?"
Lex didn't reply, instead, he snapped his finger and a mechanical whirring was heard. Seconds later Sarah gasped audibly and her mundane form fell away, revealing her true form. "I don't have a name for this yet. My mother recently just created this from some blueprints from the prison. It inhibits your Carrier abilities. Including the ones that allow you to hide your Carrier form. I personally think you're absolutely stunning in this form, but the voting public might not agree." He remarked.
"What do you want Lex?" Sarah asked through gritted teeth. "Money?" Lex merely smiled at her guess, shaking his head.
"I have plenty of that. I don't need yours. But with your help, we could both stand to make a lot more. I need you to start pushing an agenda through. One that calls for Carriers to be allowed, maybe even mandated to work in the private and public sectors. I'm talking military, police, public works, whatever services that make money in this city, I want Carriers to be involved."
"Lex, that's impossible and you know it. This ia an election year for me, and my entire platform is based on anti-Carrier sentiment. How would it look to switch up now?" Sarah pointed out.
"I don't give a damn about any of that nonsense. Make it work. And don't worry, I plan on 'talking' to a few of your fellow Council people about this same agenda. I think you'll find that you'll have a lot of support for this move." Lex informed her. "Besides, I wouldn't needlessly burn my best asset on the Indigo City Council like this, would I?"
Sarah stared at him for a long while. "I'm not sure Lex. I'm just not sure about that."
