Ok so I don't know how to go about doing this. A lot of characters in the Sentinels indie Graphic Novel didn't have origins explained in the books but they put bios online. What should I do in a situation like this?

I'm not familiar with the book, but if the online bios are 'official' then they're fine. Just don't copy and paste them, try and tie them in with what's in the book.

SO just paraphrase them? I feel like I'm skimming an invisible line.

From the sounds of it, you are on an awkward line. If it's possible to join them (the book and the bio) together into your own work, then do. Since this is an official source, you're okay quoting it (as long as you say where it's coming from) as it's not the same as ripping off someone's wikipedia entry.
