Submissions!!! please read!!!

ok, this has become an issue more and more lately...

take a look here at the latest atrocity...

please, and i'm begging here... don't add HTML code to pages unless it's necessary AND you know what your doing...

as it is, we've had a ton of pages where people are adding useless HTML code to them just to gain the extra points, and then the mods and admin have to clean up the pages because the HTML code is broken, or just completely useless.

if this trend continues, HTML will be removed from all pages and the people adding useless code (see the Phoenix page), will have the points deducted from them.

so please, just actually think about what your doing when submitting content, if your in doubt as to what your doing, PM one of the admin or mods and ask for their opinion and assistance with it.

These need to be rolled back instead of just deleting... but only G-Man can do that lol.

It can be rolled back when G-Man gets back tomorrow... until then, my 'fix' of removing every single piece of HTML code from the page will do

works fine on my monitor now i've removed all the HTML script from the page

at the moment there are 4 mods and 3 admin, thats keeping everything good so far with submission checking and the forums...

the pages are just a problem, i don't see why people have to overload them with a ton of useless HTML.

Sigh. I didn't catch this particular one, but I can't describe the number of really good pages I have come across where some pointwhere decided to load down with 5 or 6 images per paragraph. I think it's going to have to come down to the point where the mods are going to have to lock off everything but pre-approved tags.

Hey Methos, I know you guys are probably really busy with all the other mody crap you have to do so I'll also volunteer myself as a sort of submission helper. Hell if LAMP and Cap needed I'd probably even be able to find some time to string together some code to escape out user-inputted html or something just to keep this shit from happening.

One question though. You know all the good pages with a bar asking where you want to go and pictures along the paragraphs. How do you make a page like that?

Yes! Thank you! Those things also suck for those of us who are not html proficient, yet are trying to update the profiles. We don't know how to alter them, so they become a worthless navigation tool.

My God, I've created a monster!

I will forever rue the day I implemented that blasted HTML.

I like using HTML "Select Your Destination" on the Storm and Hollow pages... and I see absolutely no reason why ANYONE has to mess up a page when submitting it. I taught myself how to do it on this site, with a little advice from Invisible Woman and maybe a couple of others. But, really, I learned by cutting and pasting and going over each line individually. I knew only the tiniest bit of html coding beforehand and now I'm really good at using Select Your Destination and image codes...

I just hope a few people don't mess this up for the rest of us... like the whole Choose the Default Pic thing... :P

If someone wants to learn how to do it, other people on this site and the Preview button are your best friends.
