Should Vegeta's new form have been on par with MUI?

I was happy to see him get a new form, but his new form didn't seem much of a drastic change like Goku's new UI form especially Mastered Ultra Instinct. His new form beat Toppo but it took time since Toppo put up a decent fight and then Vegeta beat him easily.

When we saw Jiren's potential unlocked and he was actually strong enough to hold his own against MUI Goku, I was hoping Vegeta would be the same where instead of getting Ultra Instinct, he just gets a lot of power like Jiren. Doesn't seem like Vegeta would stand a chance against UI and especially not MUI which puts him even further below Goku.

@yabuturtle: SSBE didn’t do anything to Jiren. Jiren base power slaps Vegeta around and Jiren didn’t really go all out until he fought UI Goku. Even then Jiren was still stronger than UI omen.

OT: No, it shouldn't, having SSBE be equal to UI, would severely undermine UI which has been tauted since a technique difficult even for gods to master since RoF arc.

Ultra Instinct is the highest state possible known at the moment. Blue Evolved is just another form of Super Saiyan Blue, it got treated as Vegeta’s own style of Blue Kaioken x20.

Jiren did have the initial edge, sure. But even before Goku got enraged, Goku's power and speed gradually increased throughout the fight to the point that Goku was able to not only land solid hits on Jiren, but shrugged his blows off without taking significant damage.

Goku just before getting enraged should be at least on par with Jiren, and overall slightly superior due to the form's ability to improve in battle.

OT: No, Vegeta's fighting style and mindset hinders him from achieving what UI can do. In comparison, Goku is relaxed and this allows him to more easily sever his mind from his body, which helps him achieve Ul. In terms of raw power, Vegeta is at best on par with SSBKKx20 Goku.

@yabuturtle: Ultimately I think it was just a matter of where Vegeta was at this point. Goku had already made it to the next level by using Kaio Ken during the Super Saiyan Blue transformation. Vegeta never made it to this step and during this phase Goku managed to reach the next two levels even beyond that, so Goku technically speaking is about 3 significant levels above Vegeta in SSB.

So, when Vegeta attained his new form, it would only make sense that he moved up a level, but not necessarily to the top level seen so far, as it would too huge a gap to make in one increase. Besides, the transformation is most like the evolution of Super Saiyan form (SS Grade Two and whatnot), a form Vegeta was comfortable with, so it makes sense Vegeta would reach this level instead of UI, a form that even Whis mentioned Goku was closer to attaining (though to be fair he was referring to the state of their bodies/reflexes/nerves).

@LeonardoTMNT: MUI Goku has the edge over him before the rage boost. Even the supreme kai said Goku’s speed increased. Meaning Goku wasn’t at his full power like how SSJ Goku held back against Frieza.

No. Maybe it should've been above SSBKKx20 but below UI-Omen-. I would like it to catch up in Vegeta's next form though.
