Ryan Reynolds Reveals Deadpool Prototype Mask

Deadpool is literally a year away from hitting theaters, with a scheduled release date of February 12th, 2016, and today, the star of the film, Ryan Reynolds, posted a picture on Twitter of what the prototype for the mask looks like.

The mask looks pretty faithful to the comic, but as Reynolds states, this is a prototype. However, a ballerina pink mask could bring in a few chuckles if it were featured in a scene.

Reynolds will be reprising his role as the Marc with a Mouth Wade Wilson from the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which strayed pretty far from the source material, as far as Deadpool goes, and disappointed fans, especially since so many were excited for the prospect of seeing Deadpool on the big screen. With the leaked test footage that came out, and this mask reveal, it looks like the film will stick closer to the character, and Reynolds should easily be able to tackle the role again, and fans should be pleased, as long as the film has a bit more of a comedic edge.

Deadpool is expected to hit theaters February 12th, 2016.

@cdw101: Little-known fact; Deadpool's actual name is Marc. Wade Wilson was the name of his first conract, a whistle-blower working for a top secret government agency. After carrying out the assasianation he took the name of his target - a name that was printed on his dog tags.

Just from the prototype mask, I'm more hyped than ever...Too bad we have to wait another year for the movie.

I'm always a little worried when they show stuff like this using a color filter, but he gave a good enough explanation for it, and it looks good.

I really like how enthusiastic Ryan is about this role. It's really rare in films that have iconic characters like this. I haven't seen an actor get this hype for a role since Thomas Jane.

Wasn't Deadpool decapitated in the Wolverine movie? I know he has a strong regenerative system, but could he regenerate a whole body or new head?? *confuzzled look*

Rumor has it DEADPOOL in this movie is seen playing with a toy of himself from X-Men: Origins Wolverine, and that he will mention how bad the movie was.

@humanrocket: Well to be fair his dialogue in the film at the beginning of the film was great, it was only that last fight scene with Wolverine and the design they chose to give him,especially closing his mouth eliminating his banter, which is the most essential part to Deadpool's character was a dumb movee
