Why is Shazam's muscle suit hated, but Batfleck's isn't?

The material and color make a huge difference

@modernww2fare: Um not sure what u r trying to prove with this; I meant in the fact that Batfleck’s costume is black and grey....and that makes a huge difference in how someone looks in an outfit. Also I don’t think Shazaam and Batflexts muscle suits are the same material.

I kind of hate that Shazam's texture is so Kryptonian. My headcanon says it's part of his power to affect his own transformation and make it look this way.

The bat suit looks drastically better than Shazam’s suit, that red suit looks so unreal I though it was cgi the first time looking at it on a trailer. Also Zachary Levi doesn’t even have the muscle composition to compliment his suit.

Not a fan of suits that look like they have padding in them. Shazam’s is just worse due to the bright colors it looks silly.

Also when has Shazams suit ever had texture lol. In almost all the comics it's full of flat colors.

@modernww2fare: only in that picture he looks better in action specifically in MoS. It's not bad having fake muscle either just don't over do it.

I don't mind the suit. Given the nature of the chatacter, I think it fits rather well. Not a big fan of the way the lightning looks but I can live with that.

Even Shazam's suit looks pretty good given the tone of the movie.

Both are horrible but Shazam looks worse due to other factors like color and oversize lightning bolt etc.

@modernww2fare: I suppose the suit is a little too colorful for those who were expecting Shazam to be a little darker in regards to tone. I just hope this movie doesn't set the DCEU back to where it was. Wonder Woman was a step in the right direction, Suicide Squad did moderately well and Aquaman made a billion dollars.

Shazam is supposed to look campy. That is part of the charm of the character.

@modernww2fare: no he’s not buff, this is coming from a person who lifts weights. There is a difference in saying you worked out for your role. You have actors like Zachary Levi for Shazam and then you have people like mark whalburg and Ben Affleck who will put pounds of muscle on to play a role.

Batman's suit's his vigilante thing. Zachary Levi as Shazam? I don't like that idea. But his suit was like supes. So don't like it

Good thing about Black adam will be, Dwayne johnson wont need to use padding lmao. He's a physical specimen. On topic, both are just not good.

Like a lot of people have said, I think the lighting (Zack Snyder tends to prefer desaturated blue hues, which I think can give off a darker "realistic" effect) as well as the color (bright colors tend to look more artificial and goofy) have to do with it. I personally think the costume looks fine, and even if it is partly padding, I don't really care as long as the final result looks passable.

People like Henry, Hemsworth, Evans, etc. all have the body to pull these suits off.

Aflex does not.

I actually like the Shazam suit better. Affleck is pretty chubby tbh. There were a few scenes in Justice League where he didn't tuck his stomach in and you can see his Bat-Belly. Kind of distracting. Shazam is supposed to be silly, so the goofy outfit works for him.

Batman is suppose to wear armor so he could get away with it and as mentioned its a darker color. I don't know if the Shazam suit is a muscle suit but it looks fake.

The shazam costume isn't terrible.
